Tell me about it.  I really wish BW didn't change the story because of the script leak but what's done is done.

They changed the story? How?

EVERYTHING was leaked for ME3. EVERYTHING.

Except RED GREEN BLUE

Technically even that got leaked... Remember they did that whole "we're launching ME3 into space!" Promo where fans chased after games on GPS and the ones who found them got early copies? At least one winner got on the forums - a group if I recall correctly - and went from hints and such to pretty much just outright spilling it all. >.<

Promos are nice, but part of me hopes DAI doesn't do something like that! As soon as ANY KIND OF COPY is released to anyone not-an-employee I'm going radio silent.

Edit

I'm excited to hear Cullen singing. All of Greg's tweets made me think that Cullen as an NPC (if that has been confirmed by the devs) is going to be unlike any NPC companion that we've had before.

"events in the leaked script don't accurately portray the finished version of the game" or something like that....

*coughs* leak totally 100% accurate *coughs*

So if I'm reading correctly, the main new info is that Cullen is singing and GE was recording romance lines? Pretty cool!  :)

32 days until the next follower friday is supposed to occur
43 days until E3
105 days until Last Flight
161 days until Inquisition is released

161 days sounds way too far away but oddly enough, just thinking about October 7th in general doesn't seem too far away... 161 days of torment. Le sigh.

Gamestop employees got DA2 in stock early. I PM'd with one and she told me all the romances were bisexual.

SOMEONE PLEASE GET A JOB THERE A WEEK PRIOR!!!! then quit

It's the 43 days till E3 that I'm going to cruise through I think...then after they drop a large amount of info (assuming they do) That's when I'll have the most trouble lol! Gosh the last month before it releases will probably be the worst for us! But this does feel way better then years ago when I was lurking on the BSN and people were like "What do you think two more years maybe?" And then it was three lol!

I definitely hope and think that fan loyalty/love of Cullen at least minorly influenced their decision? But, personally, I'm REALLY hoping they are primarily giving him this role/development because the Devs themselves were interested in his character and really felt/feel he fulfills a role in the game unique to him. I just believe that their own interest and desire to see a concept/role through makes for far better characters and stories than an afterthought of "eh, let's throw Cullen in, the fans like him"... I hope at the very least that the idea of Cullen as a character who can cause diverse responses in players swayed them just as much - if not more - than those fans who adore him.

I'm hoping any in-game singing is a byproduct of the situation working for the character and personal storyline, as well as taking advantage of the fact that the VA can actually sing well... And not just "oh, the fans will get a kick out of this, sure, why not?"

...also I'll admit a wee part of me cringes at the thought that this mythical Cullen-Sings scenario I'm daydreaming about doesn't turn into something like poor Tali's date night In the citadel DLC! <_<

I think Sheryl Chee said after DAO that she had no idea people would love Cullen so much, and that they will start writing fanfiction and stuff. So, I think they brought him back in DAII because his fans kind of directed their attention to him. That's what I meant. DAI is a different case, because Cullen was really fleshed out in DAII by Jennifer Hepler, he was given an interesting story arc, and ignoring him after that would be a waste. But before that? Before that there was just our love for this really minor character some players didn't even notice!

Ah, my mistake. The story was supposedly changed, but not because of the leak (althought "feedback" to the script was apparently taken into account as well).

After Drew Karpyshyn left BW, the reason for why the Reapers reap was apparently altered. I am inclined to believe this, as it makes sense why any mention of "dark energy" was completely dropped in ME3.

I totally just noticed your arms holding the camera reflecting in your sunglasses lol!

Also this is for anyone really
What does DHMG (or something like that) stand for? I'm pretty sure it's about Flaily hands guy or "That's mahogany!" Or Justin Biebers new shaved head/pompadour haircut guy but what does that stand for?

DHMG = Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy or Mage Guy, depending on how you want to read it. I shorten it to Dramatic Hands Guy 'cause I'm lazy.

But you can't leave out the moustache! That's the most important part! :D

Haha, I just found that thread again, and look how things changed! Sheryl Chee about Cullen:

I'd say he starts out tragically oppressed with some tendencies towards creepy stalker (I think you'd have to be, to be a templar). He ends up, I believe, completely broken mentally and emotionally and hates both himself and the femMagePC. I think nothing, not even love, can redeem him. He's too far gone. Of course, that's not canon, it's just my take on it, and I revel in the angst and the pain.

*diabolical laughter*

I'm telling you, we did it! We all! Let's dance!  :wizard:

So... it looks like the possibility of another chaste romance is completely off the table, then?  :P

Wow, I didn't know about this!  :o I have to say, I like the reaper motivation they went with in the end. It's more classically "hard" science fiction, imo. But the other one is interesting, too. Wouldn't have made me think as much though.

That said I don't think we'll have that problem with DA:I. We've had the same lead writer and also the same folks in general working on the franchise since DA:O. Even with Cullen, I mean, okay so he went from this pitiful character his own writer didn't see any hope for to a major character in DA:I. But he was fleshed out and developed by the same people who made him, so (Even if Tonia ultimately left).

Hmmmm...in regards to Cullen singing...I think it could totally work. Just imagine:

Cullen lying in bed with our inquisitor in the afterglow, singing softly into hers/his ear while his hand is gently caressing his/hers body ....

...yes please.

Good morning!

I feel asleep about 7 hours or so ago, got to get to work now. Did I miss anything except for the "soft, moving, heartfelt, stirring singing" ( <3) ?

So I had to quit early last night (I was pooped) and i'm still catching up from where I left but I just want to say a big Thank You to all you guys (and Greg Ellis). I've been feeling pretty sorry for myself the last few days with a chest infection and laryngitis and last night really was just what the doctor ordered lol

Ah... Greg Ellis said he's responsible for giving Cullen his stutter in DAO!  :D Nothing else.

And now I am going to bed.

Um...Cullen's stutter was Greg Ellis's own adaptation. That's about it, Bioware put the muzzle on pretty soon after the VO session was coming to a close, so not many questions got answered.
