Are you kiddin', I just saw a video of the fine gentlemen at IGN discussing DA:I. And suprise, suprise, they didn't know jack squat.
It sounds like I'm biased because I'm a fan of DA, But if it's your job to get people interested in something, maybe you should know something about it.
We should just start saying outlandish stuff and see if it pops up in their next article.

Lemme get a little ranty pants.
Keep in mind that a lot of these "journalists" really are just kids who acted up on Twitter enough to get the website's attention and blammo, suddenly they're a "reporter." I had a company come to me yesterday and ask that I do this kind of thing for them. I'm a writer, yeah, but I'm no journalist. I'd look pretty dang foolish. Looking at their information packet was pretty eye-opening. No experience needed, you've just got to have some sort of following that the website can leech off of. And the compensation is paultry with just about any website out there. They demand a lot from their writers, too. So you've basically got Mountain Dew-high fanboys twirling about in circles under tight deadlines and no real motivators. They're going to get their information from the easiest places possible and not really put a lot of effort into what they do.
And then you get these crap articles.

Yeah. And it really does. It was eye-opening. I've got a friend who writes for a LOT of websites and I chatted with her about it last night. You'd be surprised how many places actually do their research and employ talented journalists, and how many just throw peanuts at people to pick up what the real places leave behind so they can rephrase it into something that just might get a hit.
