Do we know yet who is writing Cullen this time around?
Not yet. No one would tell us, but not for lack of trying.

Yes. Not Sheryl.
Personally I think it might be Gaider. We know he's written two LIs and one of them is definitely Cassandra. It would make sense to reveal one writer's LIs first, no?
Didn't he say he only wrote two characters, though? By that idea, Cullen could easily become an NPC ![]()

LOL Good point! OK, we have one data point.

Hmm interesting...Considering that she wrote him in Origins.
I don't consider Cullen to be pro-mage and I also don't want him to be, it's just that I don't want him to go all sir Alrik on the matter :|
I don't think he's either. I think he will keep distrusting mages in DAI (well if nothing big happens between the games) and still thinking they should be watched but I think he'll be more well aware of things happening than in DA2 and more symphatic to mages as well. I can't see him hating mages in DAI considering how he was in the end of DA.

I think it's going to be Jennifer Hepler who wrote him in DA2. I don't have any reliable info but I saw someone saying somewhere that she wrote character and romance for DAI. So it might be her and I'd like it since new writer can change Cullen's character ^^;

She left BioWare last year

He's already had a change of writer tho. I think in any case we're good.

I could have sworn he said he wrote two plus a rewrite but maybe I'm remembering wrong. Hmm...
I know he did one re-write, at least, which could give Cullen hope? I mean if he had to re-write, for example, *Ms. Hepler's character. She wrote Cullen in DA II so it's possible she wrote him for DA:I?
(Is it Hepler or... Jepler? I am SO BAD at names. ;_; )
Aaaand I think I was ninja'd.

I'm guessing that she DID originally write him, and that Cullen is the character that Gaider had to do a rewrite of. Of course, as in most things, I am probably completely wrong. ![]()
Edit: and also completely ninja'd.

It's Helper lol
If that's the case than he more than likely wrote Cullen! I was unaware about the rewrite. Maybe he's the character he's been dying to write since the beginning of Origins?
Honestly, I'm more excited for Cullen with the idea of Gaider writing him. He did make me fall in love w Alistair, after all.. ![]()

I know but third change would bring another viewpoint to character and it might change him.. well maybe I'm worried for no reason.

that would be a twist

If you're remembering wrong, then so am I, because that's what I thought too. >_>

Yeah,although considering that he was surprised that he has a fanbase,I knda doubt it...
I can't see an existing being the character DG has always wanted to write... but then, who knows. I would be over the moon if DG wrote him.
Personally, I still think that Tonia Laird was writing him before she left BW.

I always thought the char DG always wanted to write was Cole. Just a feeling. He seemed to like stuff about Cole on Tumblr a lot when he started his blog there. Also Cole IS his original creation. But, just a "feeling" I have had.
i wonder if they're still doing some rewriting/fixing or is it only just the testing/world building/knitting phase now.

But he'd already written Cole at the point he said that...?
Eh, it's pointless trying to guess. We may never know what he really meant by that.

Mr. Gaider writes some SWANKY romances!
I'm not sure what to think about the character with the 'story he always wanted to write', though. I know I'm really, really curious about it, though, whoever it might involve. After all, if it's something he's that passionate about/had in mind for so long, you know he'll have TONS of inspiration and muse for it, so it'll be one helluva story~
I think if he was the character he wanted to write, he'll go for the lyrium addict angle. So bring tissues.
Oh man! Bite your tongue! (that would make sense tho... bring on the angst...
)
