Oh, you wimps. I'll ask....

I already did

Do you all think it's a fair assumption that Behemoths result from consumption of the red lyrium?

That's what I'm thinking. I mean, they can't be built up over long periods of time, because those are present-day Templar insignia on their chests. So I'm thinking it's caused by actually consuming Red Lyrium, possibly in a great amount in a short period of time? Perhaps if Meredith had actually consumed some of the Red Lyrium instead of fashioning it all into the sword, she might have become a Behemoth instead of a statue.

Although, maybe she did consume it. Perhaps some experimenting went on in the years afterward, and there's a ratio to stick to, or an additive need to make one. Either way, I'm thinking it's caused by consuming it, yes.

Yes. I think Behemoths are pretty much the last stage of a Red Templar's life.

More like a Red Templar Harvester. It's too big to be made of just one person. Let's raise the level of unsettlingness a bit.

More like a Red Templar abomination. Just like how demons contort the bodies of the possessed mage, Red Lyrium contorts the body of the Red Templar, having more Red Lyrium grow out of them until eventually there is nothing left. You can see the chestplate of a RT on the Behemoths, bearing the RT insignia.

Yeah, for that reason, I don't think it's a Harvester equivalent, (in the lore anyway, they might just be able to skin the Behemoth for the Harvester, if there is one). Personally, I think it may be an red lyrium overdose that causes it since the more normal RTs still have growths. I think steadier growths may make it look much less human than a sudden surge.

I think it's pretty safe to say.

The Red Templars will smaller growths could just be at a lesser stage than the Behemoths, and in time the growths will grow until they become Behemoths as well.

Speaking of abominations, I wonder if the look of abominations got changed or at least a different type of abomination for each races (can dwarves become possessed or is their connection to the fade to weak). same with the shades I'd like to see more detail with them, they always looked like a blob with arms to me.

I'd guarantee that a lot of abominations will get new forms, as we will be seeing some new demon types (despair, nightmare, choice) as well.

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. :D

I've been trying to get my best friend to play--even went so far as to buy her a copy of DAO. She swears she'll do it one of these days, but hasn't yet. I'm hoping all the cool DAI stuff that's been coming out will lately convince her to finally start a playthrough; the newest trailer really piqued her interest.

TreeHuggerHannah: Yeah, that sounds like my former flatmate. I will forever be in her debt for introducing me to the world of Thedas, but we  don't really talk about the game, because we have such wildly different likes and dislikes. That's one of the really cool things about DA, the way folks can have such radically different experiences, depending on their in-game choices.

OTOH, it makes me a bit nervous about romancing Cullen in DAI. I like to play characters who are, shall we say, a bit on the radical side. My first Hawke? Totally would have roasted marshmallows in the Chantry's smouldering ashes if he'd been given the option, lol!   My first Inquistor will probably be the same way. That's not gonna go over well with someone like Cullen--or Cassandra--I suspect.

Hey there, welcome, have a cookie!

The biggest thing I'd like to know is why some abominations seem to be able to keep a human form. Is it just a power thing? Are most demons too stupid to not transform? Can they change back after they go all uggo?

It's a power thing. The more powerful you are, the better able you are to maintain the original form of your host. Most demons that keep human shape are those of desire or pride. We did get a hunger demon that could keep human form, but that was a more rare, very powerful demon.

For example, a lot of the monstrous abominations in the tower were probably the result of weak rage, hunger, or sloth demons. Which we can contrast with Uldred, whose powerful pride demon managed to keep the man's shape for a while, until the battle began, in which it assumed its true form.

So for the last few weeks I thought it was funny to see how everyone imagines how Cullen will act/look in DA:I. There are so many different viewpoints that you would think that there would be clashing ... but nope, just respectful disagreements.

I'm probably in the minority that wants to see him more hardened (hur dur), not being a extremist, but someone that puts his foot down when he thinks he is in the right. His overall personality I hope will be serious and confident, his humor is dry and subtle. I don't want DA:O Cullen, no young lad, I had the sweet, innocent romance with Alistair and I hope for a more mature one with Cullen. For his looks ... I hope his battles/worrying shows on his body with scars, rings under the eyes. I have even imagined him having a limp in one of his leg from being tortured and that being one of the reasons why he decided to take up the Advisor role instead being out in the field. I hope he'll get to interact with the other companions/advisors, maybe in a tavern scene where he lets go and gets drunk with Beardy, IB and Sera and just laughs heartily and sings old Fereldan folklore songs.

Yup, that's my perfect Cullen, what about yours?

I agree on the hardened part. I think that after he saw what his indecision led to with Meredith, he might try to become more assertive and decisive.

Some of us think Cullen's food could be shortbread. Every time someone de-lurks, I make a cullen with cookies. It's become kinda a tradition.

I hope he's stronger person who isn't afraid to go with his own morals anymore. I also want him to show some leading skills especially now that he's most likely charge of Inquisitors military. I don't want much angst, it's okay if there is some but I hope he has got over most of trauma. I mean although there is lot of worry about since the world is ending or sth close to that I hope he doesn't dwell on past anymore and I hope he's over his trauma in DAO ^^;

I think I want kinda mixture of hard and soft. I want him still to be willing to listen reason but still in charge of himself instead of blindly following orders.

This hadn't occurred to me, but wow, that would be sad in an epic way, so of course that's what they are, this is Dragon Age. :)

 My reaction exactly.  Well at least we don't have to rush on our projects now.... B)

Yeah, that's actually why I'm kinda annoyed. I DID rush through mine to get it done in time *grumble* Now I read through it and it does seem rushed, plus my carpal tunnel flared up because I was typing so much. Damn you, forum post-per-page count! *shakes fist*
