I have both a PS3 and a PC, but my PC is several years old and was never a gaming computer, so it can't handle the newer titles. (I do use it for GW2 and Skyrim and that sort of thing.) Pretty sure DAI is going to be on the PS3 for me barring anything totally unforeseen - upgrading the computer is not in the budget any time soon.

I thought I'd be okay with it because reading it is no big deal for me, but I have the worst time getting past the internal cringing I feel when I'm the one writing it. Idk.
I know what you mean! Several times I just paused and thought, can I really write this? I mean, really? (It is just a personal thing; kudos to those who love writing erotic stuff!) Erotica has its place in literature, and a person can be very skilled at writing it, but for some reason, I just balk at it. I also don't really like reading it (well definitely I'd prefer erotica to porn ... YMMV as on all things).
For me, very sexually explicit writing can easily cross the borderline from erotic into comical. I often find that stories that are just suggestive and leave more to the imagination have more of the desired effect, because there's less chance they'll conjure up a weird mental image and make me laugh.
My experience trying to read smut on the internet is pretty much, like, everything will be going fine and then the writer will use the verb "chuckle". No one ever seems to laugh in these things, they always chuckle, and for whatever reason that's a gigantic mood breaker for me. My mental image is like:

EDIT: To up the net on-topic-ness of this post: While DA2 ran beautifully on my Mac, DAO was such a nightmare that I decided I'm definitely playing DAI on a console (the first two were internet impulse purchases so I didn't bother to go to a store for the console copies). Which one we're upgrading to is still up in the air.

Rogue, of course.
As the saying goes, rogues do it from behind. My Dudequisitor would enjoy the chance to educate Cullen in these roguish ways.

Mage, so I can magically tear off Varric's blue tunic and proceed to kill it with fire!
What's he even doing out of his normal duds? Blue ain't even his colour, what was he thinking?!

Regarding how I'll play, I have a 360, but my biggest concern is that towns and such won't be as populated on the 360, so I'm hoping I can save up to buy a PS4. Why a PS4, because it's 100 dollars cheaper and you don't have to pay to be online. Other than that, virtually the same console, correct? Can anyone explain why, as a loyal xbox user, I should spend that extra 100 dollars?
Here, Sheldon does the work for you.

Personally, I can't stand PS controllers or mouse/keyboard so it's a no brainer for me.

De-lurker mode activate!
Hello o__o
I've finally decided to join in on the fun that I've totally not been lurking through for the last few weeks. It's rare that I find a group of people on a game forum that are not full of hate for the game or for others. You guys are awesome, and you've brought me back into the land of enjoying a fandom with a group of people on the internet! All my real life friends are getting a little irritated with my DA obsession.
I kid you not, I am a bit nervous typing this. It's been close to 10 years since I've been a member of any forum outside of lurking.
Ok allow the fandom to continue!
From one former lurker to another, welcome to the thread. I was really nervous the first post I made too!

Re: consoles. I can't play console games, alas. Wish I could, but my hands just don't work well enough for that. You should have seen me trying to play the new Tomb Raider when it came out, I couldn't even get all the way through the freaking tutoria without dying spectacularly every five seconds. And we won't even discuss my attempts to play it on PC.
I'm really glad Dragon Age is on PC. Former Flatmate had it on PS3, and I remember watching her play and thinking how much I wanted to try it, except me + consoles = ugly crying. When she finally mentioned it was available on PC, I was thrilled. There are still certain aspects of gameplay that give me problems, but nothing like consoles.
Also? Y'all are making me want to dig out that unfinished Cullen/mage!Hawke fic I started ages ago....
