I kind of ship it already. In a Mulder&Scully way.

But my OTP with Cullen will always be Cullen/Amell. Two lonely souls, so different and so alike, sticking together just because there is nobody else left from the world they had before Uldred's rebellion and the Blight. I just want them to be happy together some day. And live happily ever after until lyrium madness and darkspawn taint claim them. 

 

I love Cullen/Amell as well but I have already quite many ships for Cullen. Kinda destroys meaning of OTP but I don't care XD

Truth? I'm going to need to play the game before I can decide that. I mean, yeah, I've already got crushes on both Cullen and Cassandra but that's based on their previous appearances. And as much as I adore Vivienne's look, I won't be able to say what I think about her as a character, much less who I'd ship her with, before I get a chance to properly see her in action.

Romancing her with anyone other than Cullen would feel wrong... which could lead to a very lacking romance arc indeed if these NPC-romances turn out to be balls, LOL!

I like canon pairings but I don't care for other popular pairings, especially if it's hate shipping ^^; I ship Fenris with my Hawke too but since I have many Hawkes.. I love to ship him with Sebastian as well I don't mind having two ships with him.

I wanted to romance him in both the first and second game even before my mind connected the "Wait! that's the same dude dot lol."

I remember in the second game you see him for the first time and it's like "wow that guys hot! Hope he's a romance!" And he wasn't lol
So what I'm trying to say is I would ship Cullen with whatever character in whatever game I got to have him!

Also awesome story Hannah! Even though you were tricky and totally made us think it was the inquisitor who was getting some hot library action!

Ugh, Fenders. The mere mentioning of this shipping makes me want to vomit. I just can't imagine how the two people who despise each other so much, could end up together. That was not just hate, but utter lack of respect from both sides. Unless they both were mind-wiped.

Edit: and the fics about this shipping were the most OOC ones, I've ever read. Authors could just as well gave them any other names and it wouldn't change anything.

 

 

And as for Cullen shipping, honestly I don't see any presented companion, who would click with him so far. So Inquisitor all the way.

Yea I can't see them together either. Sometimes I can see people who hate each other to work as ship but Fenris and Anders.. just no. Same with Sebanders, it only works as AU to me. Sebris in other hand makes perfect sense to me and I have read some really good fics about it that fits to Dragon Age and characters well in my opinion.

 

I'm not sure who I'd ship him either so far. I have seen some dialogue that people made up of Iron Bull flirting to him. Those are pretty funny but it's hard to say who to really ship him with until I have played the game ^^; Maybe there is someone else other than my Inquisitor then, or not.

Cullen and the Amell #3 are such a dominant OTP, that I decided that she will be my first Inquisitor. An AU, where something in her mother's past went differently, and their future changed too. It might be a challenge to make it work, but it should be fun anyway 

BTW, what do we know about the human mage inquisitor? I understand they won't be Trevelyans? I wonder if they are from some Circle or apostates? Maybe a Circle mage, because the elven mage will be an apostate?

Elf inquisitor is Dalish, I think it's confirmed. Qunari Inquisitor is Vashoth so no mage qunari with sewed mouth and cutted horns.. thank god. I don't think Dalish mages are seeing as apostates, I think they are outside of chantry's graps? I wonder how Cullen sees the situation. Other than that I don't know if our mage is circle mage or apostate. I'm not even sure which one I'd want my mages to be, both have their up and downsides.

I was thinking something slightly religious and solemn myself. Like the Chants. He's bound to have learned those right? Maybe they have a Chant of Tasteful Courting .

Cullen was just finished a little sparring with other new recruits, then going to polish one of the veteran's sword. He managed to bump into a small elvish apprentice, Mabby. It was the first time young 'Templar-in-training' Cullen ever saw a mage. He'd been told that they were wicked, cruel and not to be trusted, but what he saw before him was an image of innocence. Truly it was probably the first time his face ever turned the same shade as his face...."

Well, it's either like in the Witcher (when they all got drunk, and Shani tried to seduce Siegfried), or he will sing at our funeral.

Speaking of which, I just finished what was supposed to be the singing prompt art. And a super-short fic. But they are too sad for the celebration, so I'll post them now.

The darkspawn ambush was something nobody could predict. Even the Grey Wardens, who joined their army on the march, didn’t see it coming, and could only alarm the troops when the danger was too close. Still Cullen blamed himself. He wasn’t used to leading so many soldiers, he was inexperienced… he could have chosen another road.

To be fair, it was a victory. But he didn’t feel victorious. Too many wounded, a couple of supply carts were damaged, and food was poisoned by the darkspawn taint. But the worst was that Reginald  was mortally wounded.

Reginald was Cullen’s horse, a gift from a nobleman from Kirkwall, a gratitude for eliminating a dangerous abomination that used to terrorize the man’s land. It was a beautiful and noble steed, an object of envy of many templars back in the Gallows. And now Reginald was lying on his side, his legs crushed by an ogre in a fight that Cullen himself survived by a miracle.  Even if their healers weren’t busy helping the wounded soldiers, it would be still impossible to heal such injuries. There was only one thing Cullen could do for his dying friend.

He lowered himself on the grass beside the horse, and gave Reginald a gentle pat on the neck. Do the animals go to the Maker’s side? The Chant didn’t have the answer. Perhaps they don’t. But still Cullen felt like his friend deserved some parting words, some comfort before the journey into the unknown. And before Cullen knew, he found himself singing quietly. It was a song they used to sing at the funerals of their fallen brother back at the monastery. It wasn’t a part of the Chant, it wasn’t a prayer, it was just a way to say goodbye.

And Her song will lead you

Through the darkest night,

And Her song will bring you

To the Maker’s side. 

He stood up. It was the time. 

He has always been quick with the sword. 

He looks down at the beheaded horse. Reginald was gone. Then he heard someone’s delicate cough behind, and looked back.

“General?” it was the quartermaster, a tiny elf, who reported to him about the spoiled food an hour ago. “That’s a lot of meat, Messere.”

Cullen sighed.

“As far as I can tell,” he said, “the meat isn’t tainted. You can use it.”

The elf nodded, and Cullen strode off towards his tent, to clean his armor and tend to his own wound. He knew he would not eat the stew that night.

Well, at least let's hope that David Gaider doesn't have the GRRM syndrome, because if he does, then the Inquisitor will be murdered by Cassandra the moment he steps out of the Fade, and then it will be up to Cass, Cullen and Leliana to stop the end of the World, and they will probably all die in the process.

 

P.S. I always hated that whenever a horse suffers from a serious injury, the owner must put it out. This is so unfair! I wish we had healing magic to heal horses. I hope DAI horses will be immortal! If not, then my Inquisition will be walking. Unlike Cullen, I can't deal with this.
