I don't really know what I will do! Part of me wants to be a champ and go in without spoilers and all the big info but the other part of me wants all the info right now! I really do want to know who the romances are and who can be romanced by what gender/class/race. honestly spoilers don't usually bother me at all because I'm one of those really annoying people who can guess what's going to happen in stories( and punch lines ) almost exactly. I just like having that "Totally knew it." Feeling. I've mostly kept it up because it drives my partner insane. For example,

Haha, me too! I irritated people during Secret Window because about ten minutes in I commented to my friend, "Isn't it just that [final plot twist]?" My voice came out a lot louder than I intended, and I was right.   Pretty sure everyone heard me. I felt bad.

 

I'm not really worried about spoilers. I'm going to try to avoid the big stuff, but a few things here and there don't lessen my enjoyment because there's still fun in seeing things play out in the game even when I know what's coming.

Yeah this is me. Knowing who my romance options are might actually even dictate what system I buy it on or if I even buy it the day it's released or wait till later. So... it's kind of a big deal. And like you, I don't mind spoilers; in fact, I prefer them! I knew Anders would blow up the Chantry and still enjoyed the character and the game. I did NOT know that I would die unless I slept with Morrigan or had enough persuasion points to get Alistair to do it. Wish I would have! What a horrible "surprise."

 Anyone else planning on a cut off point from the news or are you the type that wants to know everything?

 

At some point I know I will cut myself off from the forums.  When that point comes depends on a few factors.  I remember prior to DA2 and ME3's street release, there were advanced copy information leaks aplenty, and the forums had trolling where people were putting spoilers in thread titles and other such things.  I had a few modest spoilers happen just browsing the seemingly innocuous threads too, thinking thread about x subject wouldn't possibly mean y spoiler could be involved -- and then it happens from folks being off topic.  I'll just have to feel it out the closer to release we get.  I suspect I'll go "dark" from the forums a month prior to release, but it may be even sooner if leaks begin earlier than that.

Pretty much the only thing I want to know about is romance options, and only because that will influence whether I run a male Inquisitor or a female Inquisitor during my first playthrough.  Everything else I want to discover on my own as I play.  I'll probably avoid the forums and blacklist any Dragon Age tags on Tumblr starting in September.

The romance options won't really change any of my plans. (I'm already attached to my Inquisitor character, so she's not changing. I know she will fall for Cullen. If she can't have him, she'll just have to live with her disappointment.) I'd just like to know.

Just had a dream that BioWare added two more characters to the dragonage site. Woke up thinking they totally did. Went to check - and was disappointed. Those characters were Solas and the Scribe girl. I even saw her name, but now I can't remember.

Now I'm curious when will they continue the introductions? And sharing the character kits? I need those because of reasons.

I don't mind spoilers that much unless they are major. .like what happens in the end of game XD With Mass Effect I have had so many spoilers already ^^; Luckily with some miracle I haven't been spoiled about ME3's ending though I know that it apparently sucks and people hate it..

 

I think I'll try to be really careful about spoilers when the game comes out. Maybe I have to stay out of here and stay out of tumblr : / I have to see what kind of spoilers people will reveal here, I hope not major plot related one's since those I don't like.

I think that most of us who post here regularly are in agreement about keeping spoilers out of the thread as much as possible - even those of us who aren't personally bothered by spoilers don't want to ruin other people's enjoyment.

 

That said, once the game comes out we'll probably have a lot of people posting to the thread who aren't regulars, and they may not be very careful about spoilers, so I think the potential for spoilers here is unfortunately pretty high.

 

The old thread in the DA2 forum and the Safe Haven group are probably safer bets.

No, you are not alone. I have no idea what my Inky will be like Except that she will be a mage, because I like throwing fireballs at people

And that she will be my AU Amell, but I'm still not 100% sure about that. I may choose a qunari or an elf if my left foot tells me so.

Aww, sorry for that. I'm starting to think they are saving everything big for E3 to make people faint in awe.

Don't feel weird. There's no right or wrong way to create a character, and no requirement that characters be planned in advance. 

 

For quite awhile I didn't have any particular character developed, but then Tempest came to me in a flash of insight. It happens sometimes. My "canon" characters for DAO and DA2 weren't developed in advance at all.

In a way I wish I didn't have my Inquisitor planned out, so I'd have more flexibility for the Cullen romance. (Tempest was created before we knew for sure that he was going to be important, let alone romanceable.) Mostly I'm glad I do, though, only because I really enjoy the character; she's been fun to develop and will be fun to play.

I like playing by feel my first time through a game. Y'know, sort of discovering the character as I discover the world, if that makes sense. I don't think I've ever gone in with a set idea ahead of time, except with my mage Warden. And even then, I hadn't thought much further than "female mage who likes Cullen."

I have pretty much detailed my first Inquisitor down. I started months ago, little after the time when survey (?) was leaked and there was picture of Cullen there. So I started to hope Cullen is romanceable and companion After there was mention that you can be qunari I immediately started to think I want fem!qunari mage.

 

Details so far:

 

Name is Skye Adaar, has big horns and blue eyes. Possible has the red body paint that qunari's in DA2 or freckles, depending on what possibilities Bioware gives us in customization. Dislikes qun and loves freedom, is pretty pro-mage and pro-elf because of cause freeedom Will romance Cullen but probaply debates with him a lot. Loves nature and being outside. Her personality is kinda optimistic and carefree. Doesn't understand human customs a lot and is socially akward. I'm not sure about her specialization since I don't know what Rift mage is yet but she probaply picks that ^^
