Tempest is a human, formerly a circle mage, now apostate. She's fairly pro-circle as a general idea - she thinks mages need a place where they can learn and support each other and be protected - but because she was pretty horrifically abused in her circle she also tends to be strongly pro-reform. She's very caring, loyal, nurturing, and sweet, but she's also quite strong-willed when she has to be and a naturally take-charge leader type. She's a devout Andrastian. She enjoys gardening, music, dancing, reading, stargazing, and spending time with the people she's close to. In terms of physical appearance, she's of medium height, pale, with black hair and blue eyes.

So yeah, that's my Inquisitor.  :)

Not sure what her specialization will be. It depends what Rift Mage turns out to be. She's definitely not going to be a Necromancer.

Oh, I like those concepts, y'all!

My first Hawke was very close to my own personality, and I suspect my first Inquisitor will be the same. Meaning he or she will probably wind up skewing heavily toward neutral good, with occasional splashes of chaos.

It's oddly endearing to me how determined my friend is that Tempest must have true love.  ;) Apparently I'm somehow not the only one invested in this character?  :D

My main Inquisitor would be Laurelin a Dalish mage, she has dark brown hair and light brown eyes,I'd say that she's secretely an idealist also quiet, mysterious and sometimes detached although she's very dignified and imposing, despite her age(possibly she's the keeper's first).

She can be harsh and vengeful at times though.
Despite the tendency of the Dalish to look down on their city brethren she's very sympathetic to their cause and sad for the conditions they're forced to live in,she also believes magic is a gift and opposes the circle system, even though she never cared much about it in the past, not fond of the templar order either, she's also extremely against slavery.

She loves singing(her name means song of gold in Quenya) the outdoors and animals(in my headcanon her patron god is Dirthamen, so she has a raven named Harel which both means Feared/To deceive in Dalish). With her I intend to romance Cullen, mainly because I think their interactions will be interesting.

Although all 4 Inquisitors I have planned so far(Jarnsaxa Adaar-rogue,Harald Cadash-warrior,Aidan Trevelyan-rogue)have a certain quality I can relate to, so that It will make each playthrough different yet enjoyable and the role-playing element easier.

Phew!I must admit this is the first game where I've planned my characters so meticulously! :D

Hee!

I like playing by feel my first time through a game. Y'know, sort of discovering the character as I discover the world, if that makes sense. I don't think I've ever gone in with a set idea ahead of time, except with my mage Warden. And even then, I hadn't thought much further than "female mage who likes Cullen."

No matter how I try to make them different, all my characters end up the same. Someone that wants to make change but will always do the right thing going about getting that change and they all end up being nice, I can't make an evil character for the life of me.

So I tend not to plan any more lol cause its not worth it.

I also have a terrible habit of rushing first play through and ending up with the worst situation at the end.

Spoiler
.  So I am making a concious effort to avoid doing that , DAI looks stunning and I want to take my time with it.....whether that happens remains to be seen lol.

Whoah, I didn't even know that could happen! Like they actually die at the end there?

I personaIly have no idea what I'll play first. I've got a couple of vague character ideas rolling around my head, but I'm not going to be able to settle on anything until I actually get in the game and see what I can do with the character creator. Odds are I'll go mage first, but for all I know, I could end up making a dwarf that I really like and end up a rogue. *shrug*

I`m 100% sure i`ll play a female human first, but that`s all i know  :? my favorite class is mage so probably i will play that first unless the warrior/rogue backgrounds are more appealing to me.

That would be interesting since an elder could provide a lot of information about eluvians and old magic. I like the idea.

Oh, I could never run a truly evil character, which is why there are certain achievements I will never unlock. And I'm okay with that! Even the city elf rogue I spec'd as an assassin and intended to play as a pure sociopath wound up doing the right thing more often that not. I justified it as him being practical in a "you catch more flies with honey" kind of way, but the truth is, it was more me being squeamish than anything else. He still did a lot of the shadier side quests that my human noble and human mage wouldn't touch, and wound up doing the Dark Ritual with Morrigan. He's also the character I'll probably wind up using as my canon Warden for DAI.

I don't know if I'll play this character first, but I like the idea of romancing Cullen with a female mage elf, especially with a DAO save import where he had an unrequited crush on my female mage elf. I plan to even make them look alike and have similar names.

I haven't be able to do truly evil character either. I have tried but I end up disliking those too much and abandoning them since I can't imagine any good reason for them to be so evil XD My most evil characters are just selfish, lazy, cowardly, aggressive or blunt. But never really evil and there is many things that I never do in the games like kill the Dalish clan in DAO or give Fenris to Danarius.

Okay, now I feel a bit weird. It sounds like many (if not most) of y'all already have a concept for your Inquisitor worked out in your heads. About the only thing I know for sure is that I'll start with a rogue, because that's the class I'm most comfortable with.

Naw, I suspect those who don't have them planned just don't join in those conversations. :D Like me. It'll just depend on what strikes my fancy when the game ships, and she'll probably be mostly a reflection of my own choices in game. My later PTs will probably be designed to try to hit content I missed the first round.

I actually made one evil playthrough and it was with my city elf (like you i made her an assassin) but i end up hating this warden and this playthrough so much that i never imported her to awakening  :?

The dialogue if you try to take Arl's sons bride is quite intresting when you get back to alienage before landsmeeting. Pretty much everyone hates you and calls you out of it. When you save everyone your dad included from slavers and go to speak your dad he is just like.. I don't want to ever talk to you, I hate you. It was quite shocking to me how much choice that looked minor had effect on game later on ^^; My city elf wasn't fully evil, he was just coward and little selfish too so I felt bad for him. In the end I chose to make him the representative in alienage, my headcanon is that his family and other elves finally forgive him when he started to help them to get more human rights.

So I guess my point was.. sometimes more evil route makes more intresting playthrough ^^

My city elf was evil to everyone except with her family  :P i tried but i reload before Ostagar and save the other women, and i did save the elves from the slavers but this were pretty much her only good deeds!

But i agree with you, there was a lot of content i would have miss if i didn`t had play such a diferent playthrough

I have characters planned in the sense that I know the personality types/the kinds of decisions they might make in a very broad sense, but they're still open enough to work with whatever the game gives me to work with. I never plan them out to every last intricate detail, in case I come up with a detail that's just not possible in game. *scratches chin*

The only things I've planned about my first character is her name, which will be Rhiannon, and that she'll be a human rogue. And she'll romance Cullen.

So far I have two types of inquisitors planned.

A female qunari warrior (hopefully a duel wielder!) who has a strong sense of honour. While stern and intimidating she just wants to be a hand of justice , protecting the innocent and restoring order where there is chaos. Inspired by tales of knights she follows a strict code giving her a strong sense of what is right and wrong. There is no grey, only black and white. She's had to overcome a lot of prejudice not only because she's a  qunari but also because she's an unconventional and  "unattractive" female.  She's heard it all but nothing silences the jeers and slurs like a demonstration of her skill in combat.  She is definitely lawful good even though she has a seemingly "uncaring" demeanour. The truth is she 's just a serious person which makes it difficult for her to be sociable with her followers. Depending on the LI announcements I think I'll be pairing her up with Cullen, there's just something cute about a pair of characters that are both a bit hopeless when it comes to the opposite sex ^_^.  She'll be based off of Brienne of Tarth so that makes her a secret romantic deep down ^_0.

A funny female human rogue with an eccentric streak. She's an engineer (Artificer) rather than a sneaky back stabber which means she has a passion for finding out how things work. This is why the fade situation fascinates her so much. She lives for adventure and discovery so being the head of an Inquisition is a dream come true for her. This is a mystery she can't wait to get to the bottom of. She's a good person but isn't one to follow the rules and gets into trouble because of it. Her goofy antics make some members of the group question how she became their leader at times. But then they'll watch her detonate her traps and explosives or use her cunning to get them out of a sticky situation and realize she's a force to be reckoned with. She'll be chummy with all her followers , even the ones who can't stand her because that's just how she is. If Varric is an LI, she'll be paired up with him. She would dig clever men and I could see her being fascinated with his crossbow when they meet for the first time "Did you make this! How did you come up with it" etc.

That's it so far :P

The only quizzy I have planed is a male Elven Mage who is chaotic neutral like me, he will romance Cullen if he's bi and if not then maybe DHMG if he's the gay LI. As for my second play through I'll probably do a male qunari Mage not sure how his personality will be though

Oh, I'm with you on this one. I think the worst act i was capable of committing was siding with Petrice, and only after 10 or so PTs. Funnily enough, it was one of my mages, and she was very afraid of the way Qunari are dealing with mages. She didn't want to end up with the collar on her neck.

Even if most of the times I start new games with mages, in DAI I want to do 2H female first. Not sure if human or elf though, I'm not too fond of Dalish after TME
