That's one of the things bugging me about DAI. I'm an archer IRL, and I love playing archers in the game. But Varric kind of makes playing an archer moot, which is why I spec'd my rogue Hawke as an assassin in DA2. I am mad in love with the recently released female Inquisitor artwork with the dashing hat and the bow, and would really like to play a character who looked like that. But then I wouldn't need to take Varric along, and I love Varric! Decisions, decisions.....

 

Unless you play the game on nightmare though it doesn't really matter who you take. I mean bring a healer mage if you don't want to carry a ton of potions and probably bring a tank if needed, but otherwise, that third slot is wide open.

Am I the only one dissapointed by the lack of ramen?

 

I'm fine with him growing his hair out; I like to see that he's changed over the years

That's one of those things I probably won't figure out until I actually play the game. If my past experience with DAO and DA2 are any indication, the party members will change depending on the style of character I'm playing. Like, my City Elf Warden would have gone with an entirely non-human party had there been a non-human mage companion. Since there wasn't, he usually wound up with Sten or Shale in the warrior slot, Zevran, and Morrigan.  And my female mage Hawke usually went with mostly women companions. Would have preferred all female, but there wasn't a female archer companion (I like to go with a tank, archer, assassin, and mage setup) so I may do another playthrough with a female rogue Hawke, and spec her out as an archer. OTOH, that would mean not taking Varric along on most adventures, and I adore Varric.

Well my first Inquisitor will be an archer, and I have no plans of making Sera give up her bow for the daggers,

I've gotta say, I've definitely warmed to his new hairstyle! It also fits in nicely with all those hair fics and theories we've been talking about for months!

Ty,  I have some  tutorials on my YT channel on how to make a female character from scratch, and the method I use can also be applyed to a male model as well... my videos are quite long tho but that's because im trying to explain every tool I use in the process in order to acheave   what im trying to go for.

Just cover the entire top half of the screen with it. The bonus is that if you get hungry you can give him a hair cut!

I agree.  I didn't like the new hair at first, but after looking at my screenshots from DA:O and DAII, I can see how it could grow out into the new style.  I still want it darker, though.  I don't understand why it's getting lighter every game.  More time spent outside?

I really hope the straight, slicked-back, light blond hair has nothing to do with time spent in this thread, because if it stays that way in the final game I may have a hard time not recalling Eric's icon giving my inquisitor a  thumbs up at inopportune times. 

 

(Again, standard disclaimer in case any devs are reading this, 1. not worried, 2. don't actually think you're mining this thread for inspiration, 3. once we see a higher-res picture or, at a minimum, once he starts talking everything will be sunshine and ponies. Freshly bathed ponies.)

His character model, along with all of the character models, aren't 100% complete yet. During alpha, they will touch things up.
