If Cullen is our General, then he will be too busy to adventure with us. Sometimes he will be so occupied, that he will turn down Inquisitor when she tries to lure him into her bed.
He will worry about her, of course, when she goes on the mission without him, and he will pray for her safety somewhere between shouting at adjutants and trying to implement a new strategy, and dealing with supply issues.
And he will be putting little notes with nice words into her pockets before they part, and she would find them later, after killing another fat demon of pride, or a big scary dragon, and she would think, 'Why haven't we invented mobile phones yet? I want to sext Cullen right now! And upload this dragon on instagram!'

I actually think him being a sort of military commander for the inquisitor isn't all that different from being knight-captain of a major city. It's an admin job, basically; the fact that Cullen went out on his own and confronted Wilmod says more about his personality and character than about his job... which I tend to interpret as something of a desk job. So I don't think he'll mind this position at all. I think he'll be more focused on his own crisis of faith, so to speak, what with not knowing where to place his faith anymore, not knowing what his god wants of him, etc.

I don't think Cullen will have a crisis of faith. I think he may become disappointed in templars because of what some of them do, but I don't think they can damage his faith in Andraste and the Maker. He's always been very sincere in that.

I don't mean he will doubt his devotion to his god(s), but more about what institution to serve and how to serve it. Who is he, what is his function, how can he best serve the Maker/Andraste/etc.

I don't think Cullen will have a crisis of faith. I think he may become disappointed in templars because of what some of them do, but I don't think they can damage his faith in Andraste and the Maker. He's always been very sincere in that.

 

This is why I'm completely convinced that he hasn't left the Templars at all. It just doesn't make sense to me. Reformed the bugger out of them to the point that they're not the Templars of DAO or DA2, abso-freaking-lutely, but I can't see him being a free agent.

I also doubt Cullen would have a crisis of faith ... but I certainly don't believe it beyond the realm of possibility. People of faith are always walking the line of doubt, and that's a good human (not to be speciest) thing. After witnessing so much evil, and being subject to it, I can understand why one would question their own goodness, if not the ability of their deity.

Yes, definitely keeping them! their mommy abandoned them a friend found them and our animal shelter trend them away so I saw her fb post and met with her and got em. I've already named the boy Ser Pounce (Thanks, Anders) and the girl... I'm not sure what to call her yet. Was thinking Orion but we haven't made up our minds. Suggestions?

Lol I hope so I've been bottle feeding them every 4 hours and wiping their poopy butts 'round the clock. I can't wait until they get to 4 weeks! I'll breathe a lot easier. They're already looking better and I've only had them 2 days! Tomorrow is day 3.

So on a random note, I have to admit I'm not feeling super optimistic about romances in the game right now. I don't mean just romancing Cullen, I mean romances in general. 

 

I was thinking through the possibilities for romance and thinking... okay, if as speculated there are gender restrictions and class restrictions and race restrictions and presumably the characters need to have something in common in personality and gain some kind of approval... even with six potential LIs instead of four, it would not be all that difficult to create an Inquisitor that none of the LIs are interested in.

 

I am currently trying to talk myself out of this frame of mind.

I hope there will be some kind of information about our Inquisitor's background before we start the game. Because maybe I imagine that my mage is from Tevinter, but she will be from Orlais. Maybe I think she's an apostate, but she's a senior enchanter in some Circle I just can't plan anything without any information.

 

I think this is a matter of taste, really - for me I don't mind fudging small details and sticking with my version even if the game disagrees.

 

So do you guys know or have an idea of who you'll be taking with you in your party the most?

 

I'm leaning toward Cassandra and Varric and rotating out the third slot. I know my Inquisitor will like both of them, and it would be a pretty well-rounded party with at least one of each class.

 

So here's something I've been thinking about. We've talked about how our Inquisitor might deal with Cullen-as-house-husband, but how will he deal with it? More seriously, how would he deal with being somewhat sidelined as an 'advisor' or general or person-behind-the-scenes as opposed to being out in the field protecting and battling and whatnot? Is he well suited for it? Would he think he's well suited for it? Thoughts?

 

Like others, I really think it depends on what Cullen is doing. I think as long as he was actually accomplishing things, he'd be content with a role that wasn't primarily front line combat. I also think he'd find reasons to get out from time to time, like he did in Kirkwall. Basically, I think Cullen will be fine with his job if he has enough to do, feels like his work is worthwhile, and sees himself as fulfilling his Andrastian duties.

I don't think there will be race restrictions. It'd be really difficult for Bioware to even give one romance for every race and gender. Class restrictions would even limit more.. BW should make all advisors and companions LI's in that  case to be sure that there is some kind of romance opportunity for everyone. I think sexuality will be only restriction and then not gaining disapproval by your actions.

I feel ya! And even if there is just ONE available LI to your inquisitor, it could be one you aren't into.

 

It helps if you try to downplay the romances in your mind (I find). I try to focus on my inquisitor, my anticipations regarding the CC, the world, the story, etc.

My qunari is probably going to go with Solas at is point, if just for the adorable height difference, but I don't think they'd otherwise make a good couple to be honest. Even if DHMG isn't gay, (which I really don't see happening for some reason, just a strong gut feeling), I wouldn't want her to romance a Tevinter, let alone a Magister and I have strong doubts IB or the Warden, (her ideal LI) will be romanceable.

And for my human mage, her prospects seem to rely solely on Cassandra not being straight. I'd love, love, LOVE her to romance Vivienne, but I don't see her being available either. Which is sad kittens.

Probaply my quizzy and Cullen will be quite hard match to make XD My quizzy is also pro-mage and doesn't like circles nor chantry. I wonder if this will work at all or will love come over everything ^^
