I never really understood the thing with Cullen - I do think the moments with female mage Warden in Origins are sweet, that he's a good guy generally and that his character arc so far has been pretty interesting, for a minor character - but I must say, his voice actor is lovely, funny and adorable. The way he interacts with the Cullenites is certainly endearing the character to me.

Yeah, his voice actor has really embraced the whole fandom... which is surprising, but incredibly heart warming. He's a good guy.

I think you got the thing with Cullen down, actually.  :lol:

And Greg Ellis does seem like a doll.  :wub:

Hah, well then! I guess I recognize some of the things that people liked about him but never understood the apparent intensity of his appeal or why people were so fascinated/keen.

... Not that it matters anymore since (so don't hurt me!*) as I said, I'm warming to him thanks to Mr. Ellis. :) Solas is still my first love but here is a post of Cullen solidarity. or something x)

His tweets are definitely entertaining.

* I jest.

If it's a written based interview I'd say go with R2. If you want a video based one, I don't mind doing it since I'm used to being on camera now anyway.

R2 and Lola would be *my* go-to Cullen folks. :D

I was thinking R2 or Lola. XD No offense to anyone else, of course, we're all amazing and rightfully well-loved up in here. Someone who has their finger on the pulse and can, more importantly, explain how this all started? That's what we need.

Lola, it is going to be written. I'll PM you both, though. :D

Sooo.... I have a question.

If someone wanted to interview one of us on the Cullen pandemonium, who do y'all think would be a good person to suggest? There are SO MANY of us. And I think it would be cool to get someone who has been here since the start of this madness.

R2 seems to have lot of information and Kirrahe has nice analyses so maybe them? They came up my mind first. XD But I think pretty much everyone here would be good.. though not me I'm a new kid and not even that fluent in expression myself in English ^^;

This was already a thriving community when I joined it... okay I can't even remember how long ago that was. But if we're going for seniority, then I agree the list should include R2, Lola, also meanieweenie, littlenikki... a couple other people like Shades and newschmoo have disappeared over the years (I see Shades on Twitter and newschmoo elsewhere on the BSN). I can't think of anyone else from the "old times."

Other qualification would be ability to articulate what about the character draws us to him, and to also explain what sort of community we are (because a huge part of the fandom actually has nothing to do with the character at all...).

Oh yeah, this is the most important... especially since so many people are convinced that the Cullen fame is all estrogen and hot templar bods.

Yes, which is exactly why us old-timers tend to get uncomfortable when the thread gets particularly estrogen-y and hot templar bod-y :lol:

Well, we could all put our heads together and discuss the whole Cullen thing first, then R2/whoever could answer the questions from the general consensus of the Cullen thread(s)?

Or maybe I just prefer to keep the cries of "OH, MAKER" and desperate face-fanning to m'self. Because I'm a mature lady, y'see.

Yes, this. Brilliant idea, since it means we can make sure that the mass opinions are represented.

Based off what we know to be actual canon surrounding Cullen's story arc so far we're pretty much all in agreement anyway, but it's always worth going over it again.

Just think how estrogen ( a little bit of testosterone too) filled it will be at the 1000th pg celebration, considering the theme of it. :P

So now I'm basically hoping this interview can be posted and whatnot prior to the celebration. You know, so it won't be like an intellectual's view of the Cullen Nation, filled with justification for why we love him (whilst clarifying that it's NOT just hormones)...

...and then the reader swings to the forums and we're all "OH MAKER, I WANT TO MAKE COOKIES ON THOSE RED-HOT ABS."  XD

What is this interview for, if I may ask? Just wondering.

Btw, Gaider's been updating his blog. I thought this short little tease was particularly interesting.

After all this time (and countless defunct Cullen flame threads that received their answers) people still think it's just about yay!Templars and yay!HotBodies? We haven't seen Cullen's body! lol! :D If it was just the templar thing or a body thing, Keran would have a thriving thread. ;) It's disappointing that people just roll with that conclusion (not to mention lazy) when a little critical thinking would put some holes in that assumption. A hot body - templar or not - isn't enough to hold the interest of so many for so long.

Welcome Solas. :D I hope you like it here. ;) You have a pretty good grasp of what it is that makes Cullen intriguing. And, yes. Greg is awesome. :D

Thank god it isn't just me. I thought it was just me being a massive prude. Yeah, I'm fine when it's just the odd comment, but when it's a whole discussion about the size of his embargo, I just don't want to be here.
