It's so different to what we've come to expect from the DA games, but at the same time it's also really familiar. I don't think I've ever been this excited about a game before in my life... and I got VERY excited waiting for The Sims when it first came out, so that's saying something! 

 

I know! I have never followed a game so closely before. Lord knows what I'll do after it is actually released.

 

Thank the Maker I'm not the only one ... I'm already starting to worry myself with my obsession for a game that's not even released yet. This is definitely the first game I'm literally obsessing over everthing, anyway: Every trailer, every screenshot, every character, every little piece of info ... It's almost scary!

 

(And I swear that music ... especially this recurring piece of melody starting at 00:38 ... I just love it)

I just wanted to thank everyone for chiming in on this. I'm starting to feel schoolmarm-ish when I comment on it, so it's good to confirm that it's a more widely held concern within the thread. 

 

And, eluvianix, no apologies necessary. It's a whole thread groupthink thing that happens from time to time. It's just good for us to be aware so we can reign it in and get back to discussing what makes Cullen interesting.

Soo.. does this mean the whole "raunchy" theme is off the table now cause everyone feels uncomfortable then?

I'd think it's like skill which you can switch on and off and I see it more benefit than bad so far. However it's likely that there is some side effect for using it that aren't so nice. Maybe it uses up quizzys life force? Maybe it burns the hand? Hmm, we don't know much about that power yet so there can be just theories.

 

That'd be an interesting twist, that the reason the Inquisitor survived was because their lifeforce became tied to the breach and closing the rifts will ultimately kill them? Or perhaps, it's just a strange power that will manifest only as long as the rifts are active?

 

But I'd love if it had some weird side effects;

 

Inquisitor: This is my funky glowing hand! It can close Fade Tears in under a minute, kill demons, double as a ad-hoc torch in the dark and - for some reason I can't fathom in the slightest - causes all apples to taste like liquorice?

Yeah, that recurring melody keeps popping up in the different trailers and stuff, doesn't it! I suspect that's maybe a small piece of the games intro music or something?

You're certainly not the only one!  I don't think I've ever been so excited about a game before or followed one so closely pre-release.

I think so, too! It's striked me as the most dramatic part of the trailers, and it's quite catchy ...

This was already a thriving community when I joined it... okay I can't even remember how long ago that was. But if we're going for seniority, then I agree the list should include R2, Lola, also meanieweenie, littlenikki... a couple other people like Shades and newschmoo have disappeared over the years (I see Shades on Twitter and newschmoo elsewhere on the BSN). I can't think of anyone else from the "old times." 

 

Other qualification would be ability to articulate what about the character draws us to him, and to also explain what sort of community we are (because a huge part of the fandom actually has nothing to do with the character at all...).

I'm ridiculously flattered to be included in the upper echelon but really... I'm just here for the punch and pie. I'd definitely defer to R2 and Lola if you want actual factual business. And R2 is basically a research goddess when it comes to citing sources. In fact, she may not be human.
