For those of you who played DAO on console, was that screenshot-at-key-points mechanic PC-only? It makes sense that it would be, but since I'm switching to console for DAI I'm holding out hope that the odd obsession games lately seem to have with social media / the Cloud will give me a chance to send myself some desktops via the Keep or something...

I think it must be ... cause I have no idea what you're talking about

I really want to revisit Kirkwall. Presumably we won't be though.

Kirkwall being a former Tevinter city and the Engima of Kirkwall entries suggesting that the city is a giant Blood Magic sigil, really make me wonder if it has some ties to the Breach in some shape or form.

I'm desperate to see that mad old city again, it kind of endeared itself to me. And I bet it'd looked absolutely stunning in the Frostbite engine. If they ever did a DA2 redux with Frostbite, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, just to see Kirkwall as a living and breathing location.

I know! And it fits perfectly, given what the mountain is filled with. It also means that our adversary somehow knows already about the lyrium in the mountain, which is very scary. The Big Bad is definitely not a minor-league player.

I can't even begin to imagine who or what he/she/it is. I thought maybe Corypheus, but I suspect he'll just be one of the "big bad's" sleeper agents working within the Grey Warden faction to tear them apart.

The Dalish elves call it the "Emerald Graves" for the trees that now represent lives sacrificed in battle. #DAI pic.twitter.com/gFcaSNPF6G

I'm waiting for the system requirements. All I know for now is that at least I don't need to change the OS :)

I really like Cassandra's sword in the last trailer, how it reflects the sky, and everything. Finally a sword that doesn't look like it's made of plastic.

I really love swords, okay.

I've been basing it of Battlefield 4's specs for the moment, until the realise DAI's.

Cullen backstory? I see him as an orphan who remembers nothing but the Chantry. His caretakers were not unkind but he was rather lonely, neither popular nor bullied. Just...ignored. He read a lot of books and developed a rather romantic, idealized view of the world. He'd be the heroic knight defending the world from magic and mages from the world. At the same time, he's rather shallow and untested, expecting his life to play out like one of the books. Which is why he goes to the other extreme during and after Broken Circle. His endgame state is a reconstruction of his earlier storybook ideals, now married to reality.

Indeed. I agree that Cory is probably an agent. As for the big bad, I get the feeling that he/she could be on par with Flemeth in terms of cosmic awareness.

We came up with a theory about that a long time ago in which the Templar's killed his apostate mage mother with baby Cullen in tow, then sent the newly orphaned baby to the Chantry to grow up and when he came of age the Chantry put him forward for Templar training. Imagine how much of a head **** he'd have finding that one out!

Cullen's mom being a mage has been one of my favorite headcanons about him pretty much since I first became obsessed with  interested in the character. There's just so much potential for angst there.

That's sort of what I'm hoping, too. Somebody big. And bad. :D

I think, even if he was just a Chantry orphan who had no memory of his parents, would good enough. We could headcanon in the rest, lol!

The game would automatically take screenshots of your Warden or party members at key points in the story and save them somewhere in the EA folder. Thanks to this mechanic, I now have a folder on my laptop with several hundred oddly-framed pictures of my Warden looking characteristically pained at something or other.  But I haven't felt moved to delete them, so there they sit.

Perhaps after Hawke accidentally let Corypheus out he went around freeing other ancient magisters enabling them to inflitrate other factions and in the years since they've been working towards freeing "the big bad".

... Maybe it's Dumat? But not in Dragon form.

That's kind of cool! I hope they let us take screenshots and perhaps upload them to FB. That's how Dragon's Dogma does it. 50% of the fun of that game is posing my characters so I can get a good shot LOL

I don't want Cullen's backstory to be too angsty. What actually happens to him during the games is enough. Add much more to that and pathos becomes comedy.

I'm starting to think that the Fade is more of a cosmic prison of sorts, and breaching the Veil is what starts to "break the locks".

Didn't DG said that there was supposed to be an Exalted March, presumably on Kirkwall, as a DLC for DAII, but instead they made it a part of DAI story?

I wonder if that's how we will recruit Cullen. Hm, or maybe not. More and more it seems like Cass has already recruited advisors herself.

As another poster dubbed it, a grand game of cosmic chess between Flemeth and this other entity.

That would be SO cool. But, yeah, someone like that. Archdemon-esque, but with a face and a personality. SO we can love to hate him/her.

I do hope that what happened with Corypheus comes back around to bite us in the ass. I'm still facinated/worried about why we were attacking Grey Wardens. Hmm...

Yep. That's pretty much the background I defaulted to in one of the two unfished fics I have about him. In the other, I was laying the groundwork for a later reveal that at least one of his parents had been a templar, though I never did decide if it was his mom or his dad. Now I'm kind of leaning toward the templar being his mother, beacuse that's not something we usually see.

I see two possibilities with the GWs. One, they are messing around in the primeval thaig like Nate said, or they are under the influence if Cory.

On top of that...maybe the Veil was raised not to keep the demons out, but to perhaps keep something else in.

Or even both? I wish my Awakenings flags weren't bugged... I only got Nate's quest once and now I can never remember it!  :crying:
