Oh you are younger than me? I'm not only "kid" here, yay XD
Yeah, finishing up first year of college. I'm pretty sure we have a 16 year old in this thread though, if I recall correctly.

"Gooder"
Where's Artemis when you need her?
Oh pshaw I don't think I've ever corrected anyone's grammar here on the forums. Only in published works. Look I just wrote a fragment. *hand to mouth*
Nope. Ahem. Nope. Not at all. I'll just... leave that right where it is and ignore all the other responses that just popped into my now-feeling-terribly-terribly-old head.
Oh, look! That cloud looks like a bunny!

30 minutes later, but exactly the response I wanted. Thank you ![]()
Referring back to that blurb in the leaked IGN article by Cameron, it makes me wonder if the "big bad" directly attacking our home will either be part of the final battle, OR (more preferably) will occur towards the last stretch of the game by which time the Inquisition is strong, we've got thousands of people on our side and our Inquisitor him/herself is notorious and prolific etc. So, the big bad completely destroys our main home-hub and for the remaining few main quests we'll have to move into one of our strongholds/make a makeshift campsite/stay in some important noble's home or whatever, whilst we plan our attack and prepare ourselves for the final battle, etc.
"B-b-but, Cullen! They destroyed the whole keep. The whole thing! I don't even have a bedroom anymore, let alone a bed..." *wibble*
I adored my Warden, but I have to say that once I made a Hawke that liked (male sarcastic mage) I grew more attached to him in a way, simply because he's voiced and was essentially a character in his/her own right, whereas the Warden was more of an avatar to project whatever you wanted on her/him.
I'm actually pretty good at filling in all the blanks (must be the wannabe writer in me), so after it's all said and done, I'm actually equally attached to my two canon Wardens and Hawke's. Well actually I may have more than two canon Hawke's, possibly three? How could I leave out hyper-aggressive warrior Anya Hawke? First Hawke I ever had who straight up punched the rock wraith in the face

Oh really? I was under impression that I'm youngest here and I'm 21. Well good I'm not only young one here then : )
From what Cam said, I'm assuming it's more towards the middle, once we have gotten a decent following, and we have caught the big bad's attention. He/she/it comes and blows up our home, forcing us to reevaluate our approach to the situation/rebuild, before beginning the second half of the game.
Kinda like a warning to back off? That could work!
Lol, yeah, I'm 19. That a problem, Madam R2?
I would've been 29 when it came out (being born in 1980 is awfully convenient for the math disabled, such as myself). But I guess I played it at age... how old was I three years ago? Ah yes, 30, glorious age ![]()

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It'd be a great way to try and scare us to death, or at least cripple us for a time, if the big bad is on a schedule of some sort.

Yeah, part of why I like Hawke more than the Warden is because unlike Origins where the Warden is simply an extension of myself, Hawke was a complicated character with a history and personality that I was stepping into, much like Shepard. Sometimes, it's refreshing to simply enjoy a character that's got a background to fall back on, rather than having to constantly stop and figure out how best to define their personality and backstory as you go along.
I consider the Sarcastic Hawke (as the sad clown who masks their pain with humour), to be right up there with Morrigan (hiding her insecurities with biting sarcasm and indifference) and Loghain (with his deeply flawed character and tragic backstory) as being some of the characters with the most hidden depths in the franchise.

I've been 29 a few times too... ![]()

Oh,don't worry you're certainly not the only "kid" in here (19).
I first played DA:O at the very young age of 58... is there room in that coffin for me as well?!?

LOL! Out of likes !
I adore Hawke to bits because they were, well human. They didn't come equipped with a +5 Wand of Problem Solving but tried their best anyway. And she always felt like my character. I don't have the same unbridled affection for the Warden but I love the sheer meatiness of RP. I'm actually really worried that the Inquisitor will be really special with near reality-warping powers by virtue of protagonist status.
Yeah, I don't want to be this untouchable, unbreakable power house of Mary Sue/Marty Stu proportions.
Obviously we already know that after coming out of the Fade we become a bit of a special snowflake with our glowing raver hand, not to mention that our Inquisitor's Surname already holds some standing within the DA/Thedasian lore, but I'm hoping that the dialogue and response options will allow us to make our protagonist feel more relate-able and flawed, especially with this new "emotion/reaction wheel" they've put in place. I want my Inquisitor to have the option to cry or flip his/her **** and punch a wall when something really bad happens, I want to catch glimpses of her/his vulnerability to remind us that when all is said and done our character was thrown into the role of Inquisitor without a say in the matter and literally has the fate of the world resting on his/her shoulders.

I was 41. I still did tabletop, but hadn't played a computer game since college.
OTOH, my hair started turning white when I was 19, so I've been confusing people about my age for years. ![]()

I want to hug companions too. I wanna break down and cry when something bad happens. I want to blow up some furniture with lightning if I lose a comrade or friend. ![]()

First thing: Ooh! Besides Cadash, what do we know about the names?
Second thing: I think they said "fear" will be on the reaction wheel for some things, which seemed like a pretty good example of this.
OTOH, my hair started turning white when I was 19, so I've been confusing people about my age for years.
Hah, high-five. I have been confusing people about my age since I started turning grey at 19, too.
I blame it on thinking too much. It sounds smarter.

I don't think we know anything about the other Surnames, aside from the fact that the devs said that Surnames like Cadash already has history and standing in the DA lore that we've seen in the previous games, and the other Surnames we'll learn about in DAI. All they've really confirmed is that each protagonist races Surname has its own important history.

That's pretty intresting. Somehow I though my quizzys would be just nobodies, I had headcanon that my qunari mage is orphan but I guess not then ^^ Well I'm eager to see what kind of origins they have.

If I can't flip at least one table I will be most displeased.
