I should really read these books apparently.
Trust me, everything MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE when you read them.

To be fair now, even the grown ups turn 11/12 when playing WoW.
My gaming adventure started when I was at the tender age of 5 with a purple gameboy color and Pokemon Yellow. And now, here I am. Bet my parents regret that.
Traveling using [redacted] sounds painful, honestly. Plus I'd be too paranoid and think I'll miss things.
Indeed it does unless you're [redacted], in which case no problem.
I'm going to see about picking them up this weekend then
I need to learn more!

DO IT
Well. Both Asunder and The Masked Empire are on sale on Indigo.ca
Time to spend money!
I may or may not have started playing Bioware games when I was 7.
My first Bioware game was Mass Effect, and that was in... 2011, I think? /totally missed out
I started at 13/14. I'm 20 now. Though I started playing M rated games at 11, so...
I started playing M games at like 10 (Duke Nukem, gotta love it) I may or may not be younger than half the people on here.
I saw kids on WoW that were as young as 11/12... go figure.
I started on WoW at launch in November 2004 and I was almost 14, so that's about right (granted, I was constantly being told that I seemed older than I actually was). Before that, I'd played a lot of stuff at the local arcade, eventually got some consoles (Master System, then N64 then gameboys), and eventually transitioned into PC. One fateful day, Steam had a sale on Mass Effect, I said "why not?" and now here I am ![]()
I still plan on reading The Masked Empire, but they only had Asunder when I last checked out the bookstore I usually go to. I really enjoyed Asunder, though. I'll check for The Masked Empire again next time I go by there. If all else fails, I'll probably order from Amazon closer to the Inquisition release date. lol
I should be receiving TME in the mail this weekend ![]()
Ordered it as soon as I heard someone here mention that things would make a lot more sense if I did read it.

Trust me. Things will make sooooooooo much more sense, plus you have a much better sense of what is going on in Thedas at this time.

That is actually how I got into DAO, I didn't even know it was a bioware game.
I loved swkotor so much, that the second I learned that DA was made by Bioware I almost had a heart attack.
OT but does anyone have that link for the Dragon Age video with Ed Sherran's I See Fire? I want to watch it again. XD

Got into DAO after seeing a piece of art with Morrigan fighting a dragon. The artist was saying how they couldn't wait to play this game, and I was like "huuuu?" Went and checked it out, did some "ooohs" and "aaahs". Bought it a few months after release...
now i'm trapped plz don't help. XD
I've not played DA for very long. But once I started I tripped, fell and rolled really deep into the universe. I never want out!

I got into DAO shortly after grabbing ME because while hanging out with some guildmates, one of them had talked rather passionately about the game and how good it was and I just happened to remember that when I came across it, so I snagged it right off Steam as well (and I'm doing another playthrough as we speak because reasons)
*Did the Broodmother portion last night, and I still get highly disturbed when Hespith's disembodied voice starts describing what happens to people after they're captured by the darkspawn.

Whooo! You're gonna love 'em. I also bought Patrick Weekes book The Palace Job even though it has no connection to Dragon Age, since I love the writing in TME so much. Still haven't read more than 2 pages of it for fear that [redacted] will [redacted] just like [redacted] from TME.
Hello! Caught up again, but my son is hogging my laptop right now to play Titanfall, so I'll have to catch up to another 35 pages or so tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute a little while the boy is at school.
Any other coffin-fodder cullenites want to join my band?
Tangentially related: wiki says Cullen's the one who takes you downstairs if Irving dies. That on YT at all?
If it's been answered in the past few pages, sorry!
Trying to catch up while drinking my morning coffee, this thread moves fast /blush
Yes, he is. I killed off all the mages w/o choosing the annulment option so I wouldn't lose Wynne.
If you don't use the litany and kite Uldred around long enough for everyone to die, which isn't as easy as it sounds on easy mode heh, then you annul the circle, get the templars and don't upset Wynne.
Cullen came escorted the group down and assured Gregoir that all the mages were dead.

I hated killing the mages, almost as much as I hated killing Cullen in The Darkspawn Chronicles. That was probably the hardest thing I have ever done.
So look at what MellorianJ painted for me!

Maker this is gorgeous, she always manages to capture a tone of feeling in her work.

I was collecting and playing board games well into my 20's. One evening my father said "Don't you think you're a bit old for games?"
I responded with, "Would you prefer me being out in bars all night and sleeping around?"
The subject was never brought up again.
It's all about perspective. ![]()
