I wonder if Cullen will have something he returns to that he have up because of the move to Kirkwall or something. It'd be neat to see him get all happy because he was enjoying something old and familiar yet strangely new. And he'd be all like "It's been years since I've done this/had this. I'd forgotten how much I liked it."

This would be awesome. We've sort of talked about what it would be like for him to go back to Kinloch Hold. I wonder if there's a particular thing he misses. Like Evangeline's special book.

I hated killing the mages, almost as much as I hated killing Cullen in The Darkspawn Chronicles during the slay the healer quest. That was probably the hardest thing I have ever done.

 

 

Yeah I really didn't like it, hence doing it this way as apposed to fighting Wynne etc. I wanted at least one save where I had templars at the end.

I have tried to do it before but just couldn't make myself do it lol

I think I have got to the point where DA:O stuff doesn't faze me as much - I even kept Branka and the anvil on another recent pt - I STILL can't being myself to convince the werewolves to kill the dalish clan - I think ages ago I triggered it, watch about a second of it and reloaded.

Next game I guess lol

 

Having Isolde kill Connor was horrible too, as much as I can't stand her, as a mother it was horrible to see.

I actually can't remember which I got first ME or DAO - I think ti was DAO.

I had a friend that was always talking about how great ME was so I looked up Bioware and started buying all their stuff... sadly I didn't know about bioware stuff before then

 

I'm 39 this year - we bought our first computer in 1992 - which started my gaming career - before that it was those old handheld things and something we plugged into our TV - is it sad that I remember how great pong was?

I have fond memories of the old sierra games and commander keen - I loved commander keen lol.

 

To this day I have hand drawn maps (drawn by my late father) of every square you could step onto in Might and Magic 3 - all tagged / color coded and cross referenced with encounters, battle strategies, money dropped, shops and what they sell etc etc

Hello! Caught up again, but my son is hogging my laptop right now to play Titanfall, so I'll have to catch up to another 35 pages or so tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute a little while the boy is at school.

Evening Cullenites! How is everyone? I finished the sexy poem I was working on for our celebration.  I also proofread and completely finished the excerpt from the new Cullen fanfic I am writing. The whole story won't be finished until we get more info but I wanted to have this piece done. This is a good sized tidbit of the juicy stuff in my story for the celebration as well. I'm so excited for you guys to read it! *wiggles eyebrows*  In all seriousness though. There is also a good representation of the way I envision my Inquisitor's personality and how I see Cullen, a little awkward, a little darkness, and a lot of sexy.

Mass Effect actually came out in 2007 for the console and 2008 for PC. I didn't play DA:O until Aprill 2011 when my daughter gifted it to me. Now before you gasp and choke, there's a reason for it. I played the heck out of Baldur's Gate II and loved it. I even got into the modding community. There were rumors and announcements about a Baldur's Gate 3 that never materialized, so I rather gave up on CRPGs getting involved with Guild Wars (the first one) and then WoW. Oh sure, I'd seen the hype... I was part of the BioWare forums from way back and got notifications. So I'd heard the "spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate" and blah, blah, blah. But I didn't really believe it. Then my daughter gave it to me and I thought, "why not?" and fell in love... well, mostly with Alistair (although like most, he broke my heart that first play through).

 

And that's my story.

Now wouldn't it be something if Tevinter, as awful as it is, proved to be the most progressive country in terms of equality between the sexes? That would present a moral quandary for me as a player, and I love that!

 

That actually wouldn't surprise me in the least! It would be just like Tevinter not to give a damn about gender and sexuality, when they're much more interested in P O W E R.

 

Yeah, I felt a little of it bled through into TME, too. I think it's just too hard to totally divorce yourself from the cultural touchstones of your own life, sometimes, like expecting scientists to be male and wear labcoats. (**R2 now steps away physically from her many soapboxes on the topic**).

 

I think all scientists, no matter what gender, should wear labcoats. Just like I think all British detectives should wear trench coats, suits and fedoras-- the same goes for American gangsters.

 

They're sexy. Long coats, that is. Not gangsters. 

 

Gangsters are sexy in fiction, though.

It looks beautiful! And then I notice the not-round wheels on that cart and feel terrible.

 

It's scary to think that we'll start out DAI in that very area, only to witness everything go to wreck and ruin when the Fade rips open and we (somehow) get sucked in.

Cullen's mom being a mage has been one of my favorite headcanons about him pretty much since I first became obsessed with  interested in the character. There's just so much potential for angst there.

 

I know this is interesting back story theorising, but I just read "Cullen's mom" and my brain filled in "has got it going on."

I know this was a while back...but I want a Fade Cow. I love cows. They're so cute and dumb-looking. I just want to squeeze them!

 

If the Fade Cow replaced the mabari hound for DAI, I would be okay with that. Plus, I just like saying 'Fade Cow'.
