From what I can gather, it's entirely possible a 'fade cow' is making him do it.   :P

Nobody's making any sense!

To be honest, I was hitting a bit of writer's block with this one. I then realized it actually was better as being a shorter fic. And actually, the one I'm posting in the morning wasn't the one I was gonna be doing for 1000. That one will have a very special guest appearance.

I'm not certain how off/on topic this is, but, is Greg Ellis on The Voice this season???

I don't watch it (although now I might have to) so someone fill me in! Do they have guest-stars? Do those guest-stars sing?

They do!

I went ahead and asked Mr. Ellis if we'll hear him sing there. XD

@ellisgreg: I am informed that #Cullen has only 1 name.

Is it a first or last name?

#Cullentites
#DAI

Okay, I have been having one of those days where I feel like I constantly have no idea what's going on, so I may just not be comprehending well, but...

If Cullen has only one name, isn't it only logical that it would be a first/given name? It would be really awkward to go through life with just a family name but no name that identified you as an individual. Even if a person only uses their surname, generally they would have an individual name of some sort.

Just based on logistics I think Cullen only having a given name makes a lot more sense than Cullen only having a surname - how would only having a surname even work?

The DG comment is from quite awhile ago as far as I know? So my guess is it simply changed in development, maybe because elements of Cullen's backstory changed.

Something that I am wondering is how Cullen will interact with Varric and Dwarf!Inquisitior. Playing DA:O recently, I got the sense that he didn't really seem to like dwarves while interacting with Oghren. Oghren said something about needing a stiff drink and Cullen says (very snidely, I might add):

"That was inappropriate, dwarf. But what do you expect from a bunch of cave-dwelling heathens?"

Is this really his thought on dwarves, or is it just Oghren? Sure, his opinions could have evolved throughout the events of DA2, but it's something to ponder.

To be fair, Cullen had just been tortured and Oghren was being pretty insensitive. (Also that quote isn't accurate - Cullen didn't say "a bunch," he just said "an ignorant cave-dwelling heathen" singular.) I wouldn't take one comment Cullen made while in tremendous pain to a stranger who appeared to be making light of that pain as indicative of his true feelings toward dwarves as a group. Pretty sure we've all said a few things we didn't mean when we were upset, and Cullen had more reason for being upset than most at that point.  :)

Yeah, I'm not really crazy about the whole "play after the end" thing. I first encountered that in Fable 2, and I presume it's the case for the other Fable games, which I never played. I prefer a logical end point to a game, as opposed to just setting down the controller and not playing anymore.

I have the opposite view, mainly because it requires so much suspension of disbelief to put off the ending of the main storyline till you've finished every sidequest. It makes very little sense from an in-character standpoint to, say, delay a mission that will determine the fate of the world to go search an abandoned ruin for an old book or collect ten pieces of elfroot.

I like having time to finish things up without feeling like I have to wrap every tiny detail up before seeing the ending of the main plot.

LOL Ironically, this is why it's fallen out of favor with me. I don't want more anguish and drama for him. I want normalcy. Like, he's a good boy commoner who supports his family with his meager salary and goes home to help on the farm during furloughs. :D

For me it depends on how it's integrated into Cullen's story. If it contributes to some kind of coherent background that makes Cullen's psychology more complete, I'm fine with having some sad events in his past. If it's just piling more random tragedy on him, though, I'd rather the writers refrained.

I think that just with what Cullen has experienced in the games, the writers have plenty of material to develop his character. I worry that if they just added some more tragic events to his backstory, it would have to come at the expense of fully fleshing out his reaction to any of it, because there would just be too much ground to cover.

So all this to say, I'd be fine with giving Cullen complications in his past that would also be relevant to his present struggles (for example, having a mage parent,) but just giving him more random sadness seems like it might detract from the emotional impact rather than adding to his character.

I have no idea why we'd want to, but surely the power doesn't simply work in just one way? Could be fun I suppose to screw with our enemies by opening a new Tear next to their keep and simply letting the demons wipe them out for us...

If so, I hope it's optional! My Inquisitor's reaction to demons is a big fat NOPE!  :P

To be fair 'an ignorant cave-dwelling heathen' is about the least offensive thing that could be said about Oghren, on a good day.  Hell, for Oghren, that's almost a compliment.   :D

Yeah, Oghren is an ignorant cave-dwelling heathen, not because he's a dwarf but because he's Oghren.  :P

Oghren himself seemed to be amused rather than offended by the comment.

As far as I know Cullen doesn't make any sort of similar disparaging comment toward a dwarf Warden, so I think that Oghren calling him "lad" and implying that he needed to "calm down" was what riled Cullen, not any sort of innate dislike of dwarves.

I apparently need sleep, because I totally read that as "Hopefully I can do the character: Justice" i.e. wanting Justice as a sex/romance option, and I was super confused!  :P

Totally OT but I found this and I wanted to share it because it's amazing and adorable in the way cats can only be!

This is for all you ladies who love cats!

Also I want to say I freaked out when I saw it but there is actually a roof literally right below and that cat is totally fine

Edited to say-argh yes, I'm the kind of dork who went and looked it up to make sure the cat was ok. My mother says I'm like this because I'm so tender hearted and that it's not weird ok? OK?

Out of likes, but I love this! I... am also totally a person who would want to make sure the cat was okay!  ;)

I'm also fairly sure I am recognized by all who know me as a crazy cat lady. Had the following conversation at the end of work...

Hannah: I was supposed to be out of here 40 minutes ago! Why am I still here?

Coworker: Why are you still here?

Hannah: I was doing stuff!

Coworker *joking*: Don't you have friends?

Hannah: ...Yes.

Coworker: Go home to your cats, Hannah!

I am that person!
