Could very well be... Altho I guess I was thinking they were allies if Beatrix put her name forward. It easily could be more complicated tho. Which is why I want to meet her!Heck, she probably was the one who killed Beatrix. Wouldn't surprise me.

It's a little shorter than I had hoped, but I have decided to mix in the other part I had with my next one for the 1000th page celebration. Enjoy!

I hope we get to meet her, too! I'm hoping she isn't offed in the huge Veil Catastrophe without us even getting a small chance to talk to her. *hopes*

How much she embraces her past as a bard or not is supposed to depend on wether or not she's hardened in DAO. But ultimately it doesn't matter, I guess? Regardless of actions in DAO, she will always end up becoming an über-bard for the Divine (perhaps without the courtesan aspect, which not all bards do, I presume. They tend to have specialities from how it sounds).
And yeah... The Game. Meh. So overdone in Fantasy, IMO, to the point where it has to be handled with great skill, subtlety and finesse by the writer in order for it to hold my interest. Honestly, the first half of the book was kind of plodding to me, outside of parts with Fel, and only because I just liked his character. It got better - in terms of interest and pacing - in the second half of the book.
Also, I really have no problem obliterating the Orlesian nobility and their Game in DAIjust sayin.
Hopefully without the courtesan aspect... I'm not Leliana's biggest fan, but I hate to see her living like that. Also if the Warden doesn't romance her, I hope she finds love. She just seems like such a sweet girl and a bit of a romantic. She deserves to have that special someone lol
It's funny to read the novel and hear her comment on the size of the archdemon, cause I'm like, you weren't even there! ![]()
Okay, I was hoping it would pick up. I only started reading it because I was giving a final this morning and need to stay awake!

This. They are basically master spies. They are great entertainers and courtesans, but they also gather intel, trade secrets, assassinate, etc etc etc all for the pleasure of the nobles Game. Usually they have patrons they are loyal to, but I wouldn't doubt that many a bards loyalty is quite fluid. And all the nobles know to be wary of any bard, but they are used all the same because being daring and outwitting your enemy (or their bards as the case may be) is all part and partial to the game. Leliana explains it pretty extensively when you talk to her in DAO.
Still don't know if Dorothea was really a bard but the political machinations surrounding her rise to power and shenanigans therein make her sound complex (to me). And her experiments with Pharamond she started as soon as she became Divine. Would love to see her whole game (little 'g').

I remember Pharamond as the poor former Tranquil guy they rescue in Asunder, but I don't recall any experiments. If you're bored and willing, refresh my memory? ![]()

Pharamond was the Tranquil who managed to get possessed by an upper level pride demon, and was able to get his Tranquility reversed. The downside is that he became hyper sensitive to all emotions and could barely control them.

Mass Effect actually came out in 2007 for the console and 2008 for PC. I didn't play DA:O until Aprill 2011 when my daughter gifted it to me. Now before you gasp and choke, there's a reason for it. I played the heck out of Baldur's Gate II and loved it. I even got into the modding community. There were rumors and announcements about a Baldur's Gate 3 that never materialized, so I rather gave up on CRPGs getting involved with Guild Wars (the first one) and then WoW. Oh sure, I'd seen the hype... I was part of the BioWare forums from way back and got notifications. So I'd heard the "spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate" and blah, blah, blah. But I didn't really believe it. Then my daughter gave it to me and I thought, "why not?" and fell in love... well, mostly with Alistair (although like most, he broke my heart that first play through).
And that's my story.
My first rpg was Baldur`s Gate in 1998 when i was 16. At that time my brother and his friends played a lot of DnD and since the game was based on the same rules he decided to buy it. I decided to give it a try and i really enjoy it. Then BG2 cames out and i totaly fell in love
I`ve played this series so many times i can`t even count.... Then in 2010 i see the box with a dragon in is cover and the frase "spiritual successor to BG", bought it, and i never, ever regretted
! And that´s how i met Bioware games ![]()

I can't believe it's so close now. Seems like we've been waiting forever, and now here it is. Ever since my sons were old enough to know what E3 is, I've had a party of sorts for them and their friends, with special snacks and whatnot. I always had such a blast, listening to their comments and seeing their reactions to everything. They're grown men now (mostly
), and they won't be able to catch all of it this time around, depending on their schedules. So, it's going be awesome to have you guys to talk to while it's happening. ![]()

Indeed there is no steed more valiant or graceful as a Fade Cow. It's their gas-filled four stomachs that enable them to float. Sure they eat souls but it just makes for delicious milkshakes. I think we need to write up a codex entry for this majestic animal don't you?
Also can't wait for E3 , just 32 days to go!

Exciting! I remember last year (at least I think it was last year) a bunch of us from the old thread all went on Skype to watch and talk about E3 as it was happening, myself, R2, Lola, Shades, Brush, Avejajed...probably a lot more but I can't seem to remember who was around at that time
Then Cameron Lee joined in on Skype too, and laughed at our pain since we thought they were going to surprise us w/ a Dragon Age announcement/trailer ![]()

So... I went to Gamestop and bought the book for Thief. Playing that game blind is for the birds! lol! And I picked up the new Game Informer because an addressing snafu keeps me from getting it delivered. Two things I noticed about the May edition of the mag: It's much thinner than it used to be (I'm hoping that's temporary). And there's no mention of Dragon Age.
I know I can't expect DA:I to be in every G.I. from here 'til the game releases, but I can hope. *sniff*
