Maybe they actually fight but can't die? They serve as the extra "Dog" slot.

Will these DLC mounts die if they're attacked? I'd rather not waste money they they end up dying in the 1st hr of game play :-/
Bioware... you better not kill *Robert* the bog "unicorn"!
*points to the Cullenite flaming torches and pitchforks supply closet*

I think it'd be cool if it changed shape depending on it's target's fear's, etc.

True. But in a way, I kind of imagine that it uses illusions to manipulate targets. How do you think it would look when it has been stripped of its shapeshifting and illusions?

... So, I just realized something that should have been really obvious, but it only now occurred to me.
If Cullen is indeed our military adviser - assuming that you can't swap out the character for a different one - he by definition has to be pretty middle-of-the-road in his views and willing to work with just about anyone. A companion can leave, or be dismissed, or just become so obnoxious you never use them because you have eight others to pick from, but if Cullen is the only option for a military adviser and the branches grant perks as described, losing him would potentially be pretty crippling to the gameplay. The devs would also presumably want to make sure a wide variety of Inquisitors would be able to interact with him without finding him insulting or annoying, since interacting with him would be less optional than interacting with any given companion (again, assuming Cullen can't be replaced with someone else if you don't get along with him.)
That's not to say he'll lose his personality, the writers are better than that, but given his role I think he would pretty much have to default toward less extreme opinions.
Hmm, that's a good point. Although, he will still have to have additional dimensions for the romance, I would hope. I mean, there's got to be a way to p iss him off and ruin the romance, right?

That's what I thought. They could have at least attached a picture of a Dalish elf to it.
Or at least a new concept art...

I can handle a more moderate Cullen, no prob. What I really don't want is a lackey or a personality-neutered Cullen, because they can't have him leaving/annoying any given Inquisitor :/ now I'm really worried about this, Gah.
In some sense they already told us that we'd see more moderates in the new game... so maybe this is just part and parcel.
I think it'd be cool if it changed shape depending on it's target's fear's, etc.
I immediately loved this idea... until I realized how Harry Potter it is... and how hard it would be to make variable models in game. ![]()

Like a creepy gaunt horror movie child... the kind that give you nightmares... like this:
Nothing spells out despair for me more than a "lost" child.

We only need to encounter it a few times.... plus, they could just alter something and make it look demon-y. Could work.

So these pictures of mounts and thrones are concept artwork and not necessarily what we'll find in game, correct? The halla reminds me of Thranduil's elk in The Hobbit and ya.... I was hoping the bog unicorn would have more of a gooey swampy look to it.

I think most demons would. If it weren't for game budgets, we'd likely see it. After all, we were also supposed to have a male Desire Demon model in DA:O but it was cut for budget/time.

Really?! Never knew that. Might be a possible new joke for DAI
DD: You don't want to slay lil' ol me now do you? *boobie jiggle*
Inquisitor: Urgh, this again. Look, I'm sure this shtick normally works for you but this is getting really old. There's nothing you have that I find "desirable" ok?
DD: Are you suuuuuuure?
Inquisitor: Yes
DD: But I'm so sexy!
Inquisitor: Alright, that's it . You're getting an axe to the face
DD: *poof* And ruin these good looks?
Inquisitor: ...Oh maker ![]()
Cass: Why does it look like a demon version of Cullen?

No, it wasn't. In the last male desire demon thread a few months ago, Gaider said that he had lobbied for an androgynous, gender-neutral appearance. There was never such a thing as a male model for the desire demons.
