I found this video awhile ago, I am sure most have seen it. I wanted to share it anyway. The creator of this fan made trailer for DAI used Cullens (DA2), Morrigan and varrics lines.

I can handle a more moderate Cullen, no prob. What I really don't want is a lackey or a personality-neutered Cullen, because they can't have him leaving/annoying any given Inquisitor :/ now I'm really worried about this, Gah.

 

I'm actually not worried, it was just an observation. 

 

I don't think at all that it means that the advisers don't have their own opinions - I mean, their role would be to give advice, so they would have points of view of their own by definition.

 

What I mean is more that an adviser shouldn't significantly obstruct or severely antagonize the Inquisitor in the course of normal gameplay. It doesn't necessarily mean they will agree with or even like you, just that they need to on balance be more of a benefit than a stumbling block to any given Inquisitor.

 

I would actually tend to think that an Inquisitor who went totally off the rails would be in danger of losing advisers. I don't think losing them or angering them would be impossible. I just think their approval wouldn't be quite as touchy as a companion's, because losing them could potentially have greater consequences.

 

For that to be the case, Cullen would need to have gone in a more open-minded direction rather than reverting to his pre-DA2 Act 3 characterization. Frankly, this was where his character arc naturally seemed to me to be heading anyway. 

 

Question: What do you all think a despair demon would look like in its true form?

I mean, there's got to be a way to p iss him off and ruin the romance, right? 

 

I would imagine so. I think that's different because the romance is optional, so there wouldn't be the same issue of all Inquisitors needing to be able to work with this person. The romance would presumably require some actual compatibility.

I think that the despair demons true form is day-old, cheap, refrigerated pizza.  There's something intrinsically depressing about yesterday's pizza.  It's the combination of poor life choices and penury, I think.

What are you seeing in Cullen I am not seeing?  Granted I usually play a mage, in DAO he seemed crazy and paranoid- do not give him any power and in DA2 not much better, but in both he didn't have a very large role.  Frankly, I'm surprised to hear he made the cut in DAI.  So please, tell me what I am missing, because having him close to my party with what I know makes me uncomfortable.

You know, you don't have to see anything in him, at all. People like different characters for different reasons. If you don't like him, you don't have to change your ways in DAI. Heck, you can murderknife him for all I care.
