So I know this is a gaming article and the examiner to boot, but the whole having to upgrade your commander (I assume they are talking about what we call advisor) is just putting my mood down. I really hope that I don't have to constantly pick Military upgrades in order to romance Cullen; I hope his romance is separate from this whole shenanigans. I like to play different characters, so if I play one goody two shoe one that goes the political route, will she have to romance someone else because Cullen is giving her the cold shoulder?
If Cullen is a manipulative a$$hole who will only agree to sleep with my Inquisitor if she gives him more power and resources, I will slap him across the face and die a virgin

But I'm sure he's not like that. I imagine that when most people reach their thirties, they learn to separate their private lives and their professional interests. It's possible to love somebody and disagree with their decisions.
true. But he knew, as per Cassandra's epiphany, "Meredith was to blame."
It may have been unclear from his report. I imagine he put more stress on the fact that a mage blew up the Chantry, and it started a rebellion, then on the fact that Meredith went crazy afterwards. It also may be that Cullen himself wasn't sure what he though when Meredith began to use some evil magic. So maybe Cullen just reported facts, and didn't mention anything he wasn't sure of. Maybe he wrote something like: "I also have reasons to believe that Knight-Commander Meredith was under the influence of a large doze of lyrium, and it might have clouded her judgment. " Because Cullen doesn't know it was unusual lyrium, he only heard that Meredith said her sword was made of pure lyrium. And the Divine read it and thought, "Oh well, another lyrium-crazy templar!" And meanwhile Cullen though, "OMG, what if I'll end up just as crazy as Meredith if I keep drinking lyrium?" And maybe he even tried to quit. I'm not sure if it's possible to quit, but maybe he at least lowered the dose.
