Well I best get working on some of my DA2 save files if I wanna be ready by this fall. Hopefully no earth-shattering Cullen news happens while I'm out. Though, knowing my luck, I'm sure it will. :P

I created a thread to discuss Scribe Girl: http://forum.bioware...be-girl-thread/

Figured the Cullen fans may want their thread back. :P

Ha, you might have a bit of crossover there!

So... some of you guys definitely don't know me, but I was a Cullen thread regular for about three years and have been awol for the last six months. Now that we have some more to talk about, I was thinking I might pop in from time to time. :)  Hope to get to know everyone better!

This space is going to be assaulted with a lot of negativity from DA fans who have already decided that Cullen is stupid, that he's just fanservice (as if we're a wide majority, and as if the writers ever do anything they don't really want to... pffft). And eventually it'll be assaulted with DA fans who have actually played the game and have valid reasons for disliking Cullen based on, you know, actually knowledge and experience (whaaaat?).  Some of us may even decide we belong to that crowd after we see where the story has taken him -- he's Bioware's character, not ours, after all (*gulp*).

And this space won't be like the DAII Cullen thread -- he's a big deal now, and people who want to discuss his character in a negative way have to feel welcome here too, as long as they aren't disrespectful or trollish. Those of us who are old hands at the ol' "You love Cullen? I love Cullen too!" game are going to have a hard time adjusting. *sigh*

But in the meantime I hope this spot can be a bright one where those of us who are excited to see what happens with Cullen can get together and share our thoughts without anyone taking a difference of opinion personally. Even fans who are excited about Cullen in a negative way are still excited -- and that's what the writers are hoping for. If he divides the fanbase, he's done his Maker-given duty. There won't be any more "Who is this Cullen people squee about?" in the discussions anymore and OMG how sweet that is.

So yeah, can't wait to get to know some of you guys better. We have so much to be excited about!!!!!!!   :D  :D  :D

I've heard that with the recent book release, the leak that gave us the information on advisors kinda came under fire, right? I didn't read much of them, because... I dunno. Is that a fair assessment? What makes you feel that the advisor-leak is invalid?

FOR SCIENCE. And determining if Cullen is an NPC, or what kind of NPC he could be.

Nope, I do think there might be advisor-type of characters. What I'm questioning is the leak itself, since it had a lot of inaccuracies.

Meh, if anyone gets nasty just block them and that goes for both sides. Personally I'm thinking about ducking out of the Cullen thread altogether, it's not the same as it used to be. Hell, we finally got Cullen. Mission accomplished, I'm golden.

Don't leave us :(

Not yet. We asked, and were told that it might constitute a spoiler. I think the person we tweeted just didn't want to spoil the actual writer's fun with announcing themselves and what food they feel best matches Cullen.  ;)

Hey, brush! :D Welcome back! No trouble so far, as long as I've been perusing the new thread, but supposedly in the dead of night (USA time) some sh!t went down. Fortunately, this shiny new forum has an ignore function; I think once trolls realize they're being ignored they will go away.

I'm not sure I feel it is invalid, not if we're going to be able to have different keeps that seem to fit the theme of that leak.

Most people think Cullen would fit the military one, I sort of agree. Beardyface Grey Warden could also fit, if he had been in any position of leadership with many years of combat expertise. They could both be valid in knowing how to boss people around and whip them into shape. It all comes down to which one's been chosen, if any.

I'm greedy though. I want them all!!!

Hey, remember when they said we could designate a holding as military, trade... and something else?

Maybe Cullen will command our military castles, Scribe Girl the market ones, and Leliana the... spy ones?

I thought that was the general idea behind the Red Fists, Golden Keys and Purple Crows concepts. (Hopefully with better names)

*is confused* What movie?

http://youtu.be/u-gJr7iU6kI

A movie about a kid who goes to a library and some of the books and stories within the books come to life. Alot of big names in it. It's half animated and half live action.

Personally, I've learned to just assume this is going to be the case.  When something big happens, I'm usually MIA and have to play frantic catch-up when I get back.
