@R2, where is an easy place to upload fics? I'm kinda new to this.

fanfiction.net

archiveofourown.org

tumblr.com

livejournal.com

deviantart.com

dreamwidth...? I don't really know about that one.

Fanfic.net is probably the easiest. ao3 has the best most comprehensive tagging system (it's opensource) and more forgiving of mature themes (you can also include inline pics within the fic).

tumblr is... tumblr. YMMV

I've never used LJ or DW, but I know some folks prefer them.

deviantart is mostly art, but has some nice groups where you can post DA fic to spread the Word of Cullen. :D

I can share more in PM if you want more of a suggestion.

We have to hit 1000 before E3 or the no chit chat thing will be out the window lol

We managed to do 800 pages in less than a month. We will hit 1000 probably by 2 weeks at the absolute latest.

This is a legitimate concern. I honestly don't quite know what to do except to keep talking about it so everyone's aware.  We've never done a celebration here on the new thread, so my expectation is that it's going to be rocky.

DA apparently has a decent system for written pieces.

I just remembered... you used to need an invite to get an account because I think it was in beta. Is that still the case...? If so, lemme know if you need an invite.

LOL I earned my first while applying to grad school at 22, so I attribute them to stress (and promptly yanked those suckers out). Maybe it's the new job? Wear 'em with pride! :D

Great list from R2. I started out primarily posting to LiveJournal but those communities aren't as vibrant these days. I then moved to fanfiction.net. The problem I have with FFN is the difficulties editing and uploading fics. My latest two fics I uploaded to AO3. I'll never upload fics anywhere else. Like she said, the tagging is amazing, and the uploading and editing process is super easy. I also love the notes you can include.

Honestly? Who you can romance is pretty much the only thing I want to be spoiled about.

I agree with this; the romance guides are the only things I ever really follow on my first playthroughs. My first ME3 playthrough I did not even get the synthesis option... but my romance with Kaidan went swimmingly lol!

Funnily enough, I love the bells and whistles from AO3... but I still find I personally prefer ff.net, despite its flaws. Probably just because I started there. I'm also less keen on the freeform style of the AO3 tags. I like that they allow more... I just wish they were more standardized. They even have more then one "Dragon Age" category now.   But AO3 is very close to being the perfect fanfic site.

The man slowly melts into her embrace, letting loose a sigh of contented bliss into the misty air. Unbeknownst to him, small streams of light are rising from his heart, only to be absorbed by the creature of desire that lay above him. His face began to slowly wither as she began to glow brighter in response. And through it all, he smiled in happiness, filled with dreams of his beloved. These dreams held him tightly, until he had breathed his last, sliding into Death's sweet, cold embrace.

As his dawn colored eyes began lose their light, he heard a voice cry out into the dark reaches of the Fade. A large cut of green light ripped through the air in front of the pair, startling both the fading man and demon. A great light arose from the sliced air, before widening, creating a doorway into the mortal realm. Stepping through was a sight Cullen had thought was lost to him. A figure launched themselves through the newly made portal, left hand held before him, blazing with a nimbus of fell, green light. The foul, Fade magic was launched at the desire demon, withering away its essence, bringing true death. And still, Cullen's eyes began to close, his life force unfortunately trapped within the now destroyed demon.

A great cry arose from the Inquisitor, and the last thing Cullen heard before succumbing to the darkness was Jace yelling for Dorian.

Yeah I do find the tagging wears a bit on my OCD tendencies. I think if enough people tag something, it becomes a selectable tag.

Oh, another reason to use AO3... you can respond to comments! I love responding to comments. I feel awkward when I read kind comments in FFN and I can't even respond with a nice thank you.

Lol, if you couldn't tell, I just brought him back. Thought I'd toy around with some of the stuff our Fade Mark can do.

Everyone has so many playthrougs.. I have so many characters but in DAO most of them are left in Ostagar or Lothering :P In DA2 they are just shattered around. I have 3 complete playthrougs in DAO, one Tabris and two Couslands. I have 2 completed Hawkes in DA2. I played Awakenings once. I have completed ME1 twice and ME2 once. Now I started to ME2 with two my ME1 Shephards.

Also I have only played Awakenings once so I did yesterday Orlesian Warden-Commander who I plan to finish it second time with :)

I wonder what I'm going to do in DAI. I have planned my first Inquisitor who will romance Cullen but I don't want to mess up. Maybe I need to make another character as first to go blind in the game and see how it works out XD

I use dreamwidth and AO3. Hate AO3's Tumblr-style tagging, though, because it renders the already craptastic search functions damn near unusable. Oh, and did I mention that the whole archive is unstable, and has a tendency to crash under heavy traffic? Because it is and it does, especially around Yultide. I'd also prefer not to be associated with the OTW* because of reasons. Alas, AO3 still the best option out there, so until someone comes up with a viable alternative, I'll continue to grit my teeth and use it.

I've been thinking a bit.

As Cullen is now a confirmed LI in the game, are you going to be romancing him on your first playthrough? I remember playing DAO for the first time as an elf and discovering just before the landsmeet that making Alistair the king without having hardened him would make him break up with you. Took me completely by surprise as I had not been spoiled on it until then. Such plot twist are great but have a way of messing with your plans :P Are you going to try and avoid any possible twists with the Cullen romance by playing the game once before romancing him to see what his role is?

I personally am a little on the fence about it. On one hand I like to plan how I'm going to play a game but on the other I loved the twist on the Alistair romance as well as the whole Dark Ritual thing with Morrigan so I would hate to miss out on the surprise! :D

If Cullen`s romance are available for female characters i intend to romance him in my very first playthrough. This is the first time i play a game knowing some spoilers but i will try to go through the romance arc without knowing the steps ( i just like to be surprised :)). In fact i hope i can avoid major spoilers about the game.

Popping in and blown away that the new 3.0 thread is up to 793 794 pages already!  It has been hard for me to keep up with the fast moving Cullen thread over the past year, which is why I'm usually on tumblr (and sometimes Dreamwidth and AO3/ff.net).

In anticipation of Inquisition having ridiculous mage hats and the posibility of our inquisitors making extreme fashion statements, I'm celebrating Cullen secret love affair with the Finest Mage Fashion in Thedas.

SO long as they don't review as a guest you can PM anyone who has left you a review on ff.n. I reply to everyone.
