Thanks for the suggestions...I'll try out AO3.

While AO3 is probably the best place to post fanfic as far as bells and whistles go, I find that anything I post on fanfiction.net receives far higher traffic and the readers there tend to be a little different from the AO3 readers. Unless a story blatantly goes against fanfiction.net's rules, I tend to post to both places.

I'm just imagining a dragon soaking in the hot springs after a tough day of hunting and burninating the countryside.

o.o whooooa

Now it all depends on if the shiny green magic from your hand is fade magic (probably) then you wouldn't be tranquil anymore as you would be connected to the fade again. Or the various tears are enough to keep you connected. So once the tears are sealed what would happen to you? Also....after the tears are sealed will your hand still glow?

It would be an interesting way to introduce a mage protagonist.

I think she means the Veil breaching is what reverses Tranquility. The marking would come later.

But would/could it reverse it completely? I kinda feel like the inquisitor is walking around with fade magic pouring out of their hand.

t is still and interesting idea to have the mage be tranquil! Although if we have any wandering around and talking to do at the beginning it would be kinda funny to watch :P

Breaching the Veil might not be enough though.

I think it'd be interesting, but i don't think the mage human PC will be a former tranquil.

I dunno, though, if we really are getting shoved *physically* into the Fade, then maybe *spoiler* wouldn't even be necessary.

True. Maybe being shoved through the initial rift would be enough.

really really really want this for the human mage. Ah, think of the role-playing possibilities, especially if you play as a mage who willingly wanted to be made Tranquil! I could easily see the Fade Tears bringing Tranquil mages back to themselves.

I doubt it would happen, because if you haven't read Asunder then

Good question! I'm sure they would no longer be tranquil because this event would act as a loophole. They would have a non-mage connection to the fade and as long as they had some kind of access it would count. Since dwarfs will also be able to have this connection I see this as a magical override. Now this raises a even more interesting question. Would a previously tranquil Inquisitor be the only mage to be cured during the breach (since he or she gets a special fade ability from the event) or do the veil tears cure tranquil in general? Since the divide between these two plains have been weakened. The more veil tears there are, the more tranquil are cured and the stronger mages become. This leads me to believe a major conflict will be the Inquisitors decision to close or open more tears in the fade. Mages will see it as a chance to liberate themselves just as long as they can control the demons pouring in while the Templars and other factions opposed to the chaos will want them closed so things go back to the way they were.

Probably be a bit iffy to begin with, if not creeped out :P

All I can think of now is the comment Anders makes to Aveline in DA2 banter. "Did you ever play the templar and mage apprentice? I hear it's quite popular"

What's that?

A hot mess, tbh.

Short form: The Ogranization for Transformative Works (OTW) is the group who created and maintain AO3. You can read about them and their mission statement on their website: http://transformativeworks.org/

And here is a detailed breakdown of various criticisms of the OTW, with particular emphasis on problems with AO3: http://failfandomanonwiki.pbworks.com/w/page/71380126/Organization%20for%20Transformative%20Works

(ETA: I am trying really hard to be fair, but it's difficult as I find the OTW laudable and laughable in equal measure.)

That would be an interesting plot point. To come across a group of formerly tranquil mages who try to stop you from closing the tear in the area they live in so they don't have to go back to being tranquil. Some of your companions are for closing the tear and some are for coming back a little later maybe? I don't know, but many feels would be had.

Scratch that last part where he's caught starring at the mark of tranquillity. I'd rather he was caught starring at who ever the inquisitor was, some point early in  the romance path :3
