That would be an interesting plot point. To come across a group of formerly tranquil mages who try to stop you from closing the tear in the area they live in so they don't have to go back to being tranquil. Some of your companions are for closing the tear and some are for coming back a little later maybe? I don't know, but many feels would be had.
From the trailers I'm pretty sure everyone has reacted the same "Wow, this looks really bad! We need to do something about those tears in the fade!" because we're seeing all sorts of horrors pouring out of them, we're seeing fireballs and really who wants giant , green, gaping wounds in the sky? But this is dragon age, nothing is ever so simple as that. This is why I really think there will be scenarios like the above. Tranquil mages getting their humanity back , mages figuring out a way to keep the demons out but still keeping the tears open to give them power. Maybe we will meet more spirits? Maybe the spirits act as amazing allies but the Inquisitor can only use them if they're willing to not close all the fade tears.
