It's only that, as a Brazilian, even after living in the States for a little over ten years now, there are things that people do here that still seem absolutely incredulous to me (ie: putting a harness on your kid and walking it with a leash)

Yeah, those are pretty extreme.  We don't see things quite that horrid around here, but the rude behavior is sometimes astonishing...and I live in an area that's somewhat known for the polite nature of the people.  It's like Walmart brings out the worst.  Usually by the time I'm through check-out, I feel beating my head against the card reader, repeatedly.

Yea, the one I went to in Washington state wasnt bad at all I havent seen any shootings or any kids in leashes or anything crazy lke that, it was pretty chill...and cheap Witch is why I love that place altho... DO NOT GO THERE DURING BLACK FRIDAY OR ANY OTHER STORE.... YOU WILL GET STAMPEDED BY THE PPL just sayin....

Just popping in to say-
You guys....oh man I started watching Buffy seriously last night and I'm kinda in love with it and I'm not even on season two (but I'm close) yes! So excited! Seriously my man and I binged watched it and he and I were like "this is so corny" the first two episodes and now we are "I need this in my life!"

Also on Obamacare - my opinion is at least he's trying to fix a wretched, awful (debatably evil) corrupt system that is our current health care. I work with patients who desperately need medication that can't get it because their insurance just doesn't want to cover them. I've had family members and friends die from heat failure and diffrent kinds of cancer because their insurance wouldn't cover the chemo,cardio treatments or the pain medicine. So instead of leaving their wives and children with a huge debt they just tried to tough it out. One patient I had committed suicide because his insurence company stopped covering the medicine he needed (because it was newer and more expensive but also way more effective than it's predecessor) and after four months he couldn't handle it. So we need to fix this horrible system and at least this is a start. Also in regards to covering birth control- many of those same companies screaming their heads off about how unfair it is to have to pay for women's birth control ALSO bought healthcare packages that cover pills like Viagra and for some reason that's totally cool. So no, we won't help women prevent pregnancy or get pills they need to control their hormones for medical reasons but giving guys a helping hand in the bedroom is totally cool! Seriously the whole argument is jacked. Any way sorry, rant over! I'm not trying to start a fight either

As for the health care, we hear plenty of horror stories here in the UK. We're pretty baffled anyone would not want a NHS.
(Especially considering I saw a genuine NHS sign that read, "Family Planning. Use the rear entrance". Brilliant)

I've done Black Friday several times; it's pretty fun! Although I never really get anything b/c I'm not going to stand in line for four hours to get, like, a toaster oven for 20% off.

 

BUT you can get some excellent deals; my parents got me my current 40" for Christmas, and my sister and her husband got a new washer/dryer for super cheap. It's basically a good deal for appliances and large electronics, if you're willing to stand in line.

And yet....somehow my partner and I are still here with all these kids... How do I keep getting him pregnant? Kidding kidding kidding (hides in shame)

So far my favorite line in the series is in the episode' I robot you Jane' when willows evil demon computer boyfriend says (roughly) "I'm omnipotent. Right now I just saw that a Chinese business man hired a hit man to kill his overbearing mother. Good for him." The way he said it was so amazing.

Would anybody be interested in using a chat channel? I know we frequently go off topic in here and while we usually do round back to Cullen/DA at some point, I do think it'd be nice to have a place where we can talk about off topic stuff and not really have to be self conscious about it. I know a lot of us just like to talk to each other, regardless of the topic. 

 

I could easily set it up too (I used to mod a channel a looong time ago) and it's really simple.
