Is there a thread on this forum to discuss aspects of Cullen such as his role, personality, beliefs, personal story, speculation about what we dont know about his history etc etc?

This is a great thread, but it is a challenge for me to follow the discussions that delve more deeply into the above mention topic areas.

 

We do discuss those topics here, but the problem is that we've already discussed them so extensively that it's kind of hard to find something new to say about them with very little new information about any of it. If you'd like to throw out a conversation topic, go for it! We'll likely join in.

It's unfortunate that you found us now, rather than a couple of months back before the reveal and the Greg Ellis stuff. Back in the old Cullen thread in the DA2 forum it was easier to have an in-depth conversation about Cullen, but currently it's difficult because it gets flooded out with all the latest DAI news and other random tangents, LOL!

Naw this is it. If there's something you want to discuss, introduce a topic. There are too many people now to keep on topic all the time but we try.

I think part of the problem is that we've all already had those conversations, so, while we'd eagerly jump in, none of us think to start it up.

Batteries'/Obito's chat thread was really fun and successful last night. Maybe if we could keep the OT chit-chat confined to an actual chat room, this thread could return to fulfilling its original purpose: discussions about our favorite templar.

 

Maybe the chat room could be pasted to the first post. Just a thought we can chew on for awhile, something we can all decide on.

cool ty, its nice to have a place to talk about OT stuff, altho even if we do stay on topic in this one things would go pretty slowly considering we have talked  about ALL possible things Cullen to death.. now just feels like a broken record saying the same stuff over and over without any new info...

There's always a new take, particularly when new people come to the thread. This has all happened before, and it will all happen again.

I think that's a good idea.

 

I don't think the thread is ever going to be totally on topic 100% of the time, because we converse as friends and friends tend to go on tangents, but if we could keep the majority of it in chat the thread could stay more focused.

Wouldn't have to just be Cullen related things, we've plenty of new info to talk about in here too which I personally think is fine to talk about.

Yeah, I don't think it's that there's nothing left to say about Cullen, I think it's just that someone needs to get the ball rolling by starting the discussion and people who have been here for awhile are less likely to. That's why new people are great. If you want to discuss something, just start discussing it.

Agreed, the odd tangent is to be expected. We just need to be careful not to let it get off topic for pages and pages, now we're in the main forums we run a high risk of getting shut down due to it.

@R2, yes, I meant that hand clutching a thing symbol. I saw it in a very low res first, and it looked like it was clutching a Circle emblem, or something like Cassandra's hair circlet. Now I don't know what it looks like. Half a sun or a stirrup for riding your worst enemy?

Hard to say. I used to think it was a half sun, ala Chantry symbol (see below), but then they told us we don't work for the Chantry, so... ???

Yeah, I do think it's a Chantry symbol. They had these spiky circles on the top of every Chantry in DA:O that I could find. It's on top of both Redcliff chantry and Haven Chantry.

edit: That being said... the fist is different. Perhaps some kind of martial arm of the Chantry kinda thing??

Lucky for us, there's a whole wide BSN to explore for different topics of discussion with many other fun people to discover.

That's a good point. We may start out scavenging for whatever we can get our mitts on if we're trying to create order from chaos.

I wonder if Cullen was in on Justinia's back up plan for the Inquisition. I can see Leliana and Cass being told by her, but I wonder if Cullen was told due to him being a high level Templar still probably loyal to the Divine.
