I don't get that. I'm probably the only person on Earth who likes Ander's voice better in DA2. It just doesn't sound like Greg Ellis to me, like they messed with the pitch or something. Sounds kinda high. I don't know, like I said, it's just me i'm sure.

I've completely enjoyed reading all this lore discussions, and I'm kinda sorry that I'm out the door again. I just wanted to pop in and say that I learn so much from these lore discussions.

Yup. R2, Lola, I, and a few others were getting pretty deep into the lore, in particular the nature of the Fade, Flemeth, Old Gods, dragons, etc.

I wanna know who I can romance. I wanna know who I'm gonna share this adventure with...in that special LI way. Esp if Cullen is sitting back at the Keep. Doing important stuffs--I'm sure.

 

And no I didn't really like Anders voice in DA2. It has this lil snide tone to it that I'm not a big fan of. Not a deal breaker, but...

The 2nd pic reminds me of that dinosaur in Jurassic Park that looked like it might not be that dangerous, then opens it's crazy fin things that surrounds it's head and shoots the black goo out at the fat dude as he runs away in panic towards his car and gets eaten.

I remember that. And that fat guy was being a d!ck to it. then he got eaten. I think one of devs did a photoshop w/viv's head on a similar type of creature. it was a pretty hideous creation.

I know what you mean. Honestly, I'm fine waiting, so long as they tell us BEFORE the game ships. It was fine not telling us for DA2 because the pleasant surprise turned out to be that we could romance anyone. But if they're going to be poops and place restrictions on characters, then tell us what those restrictions are. I don't want to waste my whole first came ignoring all other flirts and trying to attract Cullen's attention if he's ultimately not interested!

That's what it's based off of lol. One of the devs made a mashup of this gif and Viv's head.

I like this idea. Makes me realize that Cullen may be really suspicious of us as well, when we walk out of the Fade. Heh. Fun, romancey times. 

 

I assume he would be! Frankly I'd kind of worry about his judgment if he wasn't a little anxious.

 

I've said this plenty of times, but between stepping physically out of the Fade, the glowing hand, and the rift-closing powers, I'm not sure Cullen would necessary see a huge difference between a mage Inquisitor and a non-mage Inquisitor - surely both would push his comfort zone under the circumstances.

 

Fair point, but still, what could have made them choose Cullen?

 

Well, he's already been in a leadership role, and has shown both physical strength and strength of character. I could see Cassandra recognizing his potential from what she's heard about him.

 

I could also see Cullen volunteering to join the Inquisition whenever he heard about it, though, and subsequently being assigned the role because of his background and skills.

 

I was looking at the class specialisation options earlier, specifically the mage ones and I was reading the little description on the Knight Enchanter option. Apparently it's very rare for a mage to have the strength of will to focus their energy inwards. It sounds to me like it's some sort of Arcane warrior, so I think that's what I'll probably pick for my specialisation during my first playthrough, unless Rift Mage turns out to be cooler.

 

I'm definitely not going for necromancer, just in case Cullen's all like "oh hell no!" Maker knows I'm risking it trying to romance him as a mage with no confirmation as to whether or not he'd run for the hills, lol. I was thinking though, a Knight Enchanter sounds like something Cullen would respect and maybe feel more comfortable around in the "oh sh!t, is he/she gonna turn into an abomination" stakes, especially because to be one is rare and takes a lot of will power, and strength of will is what a mage needs in order to ignore the "infernal whisperings of the demons".

 

I think my Inquisitor will most likely be a Knight Enchanter too. Rift Mage is also somewhat possible depending on what it is. Necromancer is definitely out. My Inquisitor wouldn't dig anything with demons or raising corpses or blood magic or anything like that - not primarily because of Cullen but because of her own beliefs. I think necromancy would seem immoral to her, and doing rift magic sounds potentially demon-y so we'll have to see. 

 

Well,that would be quite the dilemma!Hopefully there'll be a option so that people who prefer happy endings could pursue a more agreeable scenario,without sacrifices and drama.

 

I think it's highly unlikely that the ending options will all be straight-up tragic. The Inquisitor dying can't be the default ending since you can continue to explore after the game. Other people could die or leave, but I think Bioware learned from ME3 that the players mostly don't dig endings that are unavoidably grim, so I'm assuming they'd use the tragedy sparingly. It's probably possible for your LI to die, but I see it more being one possible outcome than being inevitable.

I'm doing a DA2 replay...back and forth. And I didn't really romance anyone. I mean I flirted a bit, but apparently, if you don;t lock it down when the npc's are good and ready, you're S.O.L. I'm in Act 3 and no more heart icons for me!
