That seems very in line, to me, with Cassandra's personality, actually.

I can certainly imagine Cassandra having trouble handing over control to the Inquisitor. I can see my Inquisitor putting her in her place a few times if she starts trying to call the shots and/or getting aggressive with my character. Since I'm playing as myself I'd have to get her the 3 strike rule before I laid the smack down, LOL!

I agree with you.

Spoiler

OK, yeah. Agree!

So... yay, finally a  head canon that works with us being 'opposed' to the Chantry. It's kind of what I figured, TBH, that what we were doing as the Inquisition was just philosophically or politically opposed to what the Chantry is doing, as opposed to being enemies. But I wonder if the later would ever evolve as well...? Maybe depending on whoever they hire to be the next Divine. Like, what if it were someone like sometimes-alive!Petrice?  :o

I could see them arguing about military strategy too! Cullen, I could see playing to caution, while Cassandra... she's certainly a strong and smart warrior, but she seems much more gunho than Cullen. So I could see her being very 'what are you stalling for?! Give us the word to charge!"

I can see this happening lot too. I'd think Cassandra is more aggressive and end win means- kinda person when Cullen is more peaceful and uses force only when he has to? This is how I see them so far.

Hey guys, didn't you discuss some time ago that something was wrong in the World of Thedas vol.1 book? Can you explain again what it was? Because I was thinking about ordering it, and now I'm not sure.

Also, a bit of really silly offtop:

HOLY ****. That would be the perfect candidate for those who had kept the b*tch alive. I wonder who would be in charge if she's dead though. I don't know any other well known Grand Clerics.

The lore is sound, it was just a few timeline errors that they have since posted corrections for. I think there were only 5 or so.

I can't wait to (hopefully) sift through the Chantry's dirty laundry. Apocrypha had to of been considered for the title for a reason.

I'm a terrible busybody.  B)

I doubt that Bioware would choose Petrice since she can be dead (and she is in my canon ), but it's possible that they'd choose someone different from both Beatrix and Justinia.
I think that regardless of this it'd be possible to change the relationship between the Chantry and the Inquisition ourselves based on our choices.

There were a bunch of errors in the first printing (like eluvianix said, minor factoids as opposed to big lore things [ahem, unless you consider Alistair's birth timing to be a big lore thing!]), but you can see the Errata here. Supposedly they've fixed them in the book, tho, so ordering it now you should be good to go!

Indeed. I think that regardless of who it is, they will be a more conservative choice in contrast to the extremely liberal Justinia.

Looking at everyone's conspiracy theories, made me want to add my two cents.

My theory is that its not a conspiracy. Hear me out....

I mean I get it the chantry is spread all across Thedas, its one of the most powerful military powers in game. But, I've always seen it as well, more than a little incompetent. Or at least more interested in preserving itself and its own authority to the exclusion of anything else. Hence the Dissonant Verses.

E.g. The elves fought against Orlais, punish them by making them permanent wanderers, and get rid of the part of the chant that says elves should have a home and say its the Maker's will.

Mages are dangerous, we need the power to lock them throw away the key, and only let them out only when we've got Qunari that need burning. Get rid of the part of the chant that hints that maybe mages weren't completely responsible for the blights.

My issue with the chantry is this, instead changing themselves so they are in line with the maker's word, they change the maker's word so its in line with their ideology. Changing the chant for political expediency doesn't lend you any credibility when you're claiming sole jurisdiction over morality.

Phew... rant over.

I wonder! It is an odd choice, without us knowing more, why Cassandra would do all this and then say, "Oh, and here,  you, #1 Suspicious Person walking out of the Fade, I'll hand the reins over to you! Good luck and Maker's speed!"

I KNOW!! Gah. It would be so cool to learn the Chantry's secrets... even tho, we know we'll never *really* learn them. But I would love for something like that to come up. That the Big Bad is exploiting some Old God evil oversight that someone decided to ignore by striking out the Dissonant verses from the Chant or something. And, then some Chantry Scholar gets to nod sagely with the "I Told You So!"

I'm expecting some Flemeth reveals to happen at the least. Personally, I hope for some more lore on The Stone. We know the least about it by far.

It's bad to wait until October to know, but I'm happy to know that they're revealing some big mysteries :D.
I think it's pretty sure that we'll find out what red lyrium truly is, considering that it was hinted in the GI coverage too.

I recall that the GI coverage mentioned either her or Morrigan, so it's possible.
I agree on the Stone.

Nice way to put this. And, yeah, I'm sure this happened. The tough thing, tho, is that any later interpretation of those words will inevitably come through the modern lens. I would  love to see something like this come up with the Chantry. Like my very favorite conspiracy theory, Andraste was a mage. I could see a whole freaking world war over something like that! Heh heh. Good times. ^_^

Yeah, some "Big Mysteries", but certainly never "Was the Maker real, and are the Old Gods really the elven pantheon?"

I think they'll keep the truly big mysteries secret, but they'll tease things and give little hints just to keep us guessing.
