TBH, I'm still skeptical that the foods tell us anything at all. There were 10 foods, nine companions. So, for all we know, Leliana or Scribbles is in there, and Cullen's not at all.
I believe they there were 10 in the original list minus Cassandra's and Varric's,which makes them 12 altogether.
Although,I agree that it might just be an inside joke between the devs and not something substantial.Although, I can see why some people spent pages on analysing them, since we didn't have any new info by the time the food list was revealed.
LOL Right! He's a Sure Thing. Gotta remember that. Funny that that's still a bit hard.
LOL, that bloody gif! I was drinking tea as I read this post and nearly spat it out exactly like that... again! ![]()
To be fair, the situation with Amell/Surana was so much different, that sleeping with the Reverence doesn't even seem like a problem in comparison.
Also Amell/Surana seemed really young, probably a teenager. And Cullen was not only in a position of power over her (which makes the whole romance kind of icky) but also probably a bit older than her.
Whereas he and the inquisitor are older and wiser and possibly closer in age.

LOL Ironically, I was just wondering where you got the whole outfit!

The bottom half are my pjs (you can't see those on camera), top half is my black work shirt, over that is a kids Knight costume (including the helmet that is 5 sizes too small) I got those on ebay, and the furry thing is my bear ear hat with the long flappy bits where you hands are supposed to go. The "eye tattoo" is eyeliner I drew on badly, LOL!
About what Cullen really is (general/advisor/ambassador), I'll to go with the last Cameron interview that stated that there's a character who leads our army, so I think he'll be more similar to a general than an ambassador.
He an still be an advisor other than a general, since he could be part of a type of Inquisition council.
I'm interested in Cassandra's role in the Inquisition as well. It seems likely she's our second-in-command.
So he's a general that advises us on military/army matters? That sounds about right!
(My Inquisitor definitely won't be dressed like I am in that gif, btw!)
Mine will, in my planned "Freaking Barmy Inquisitor" playthrough, where the Inquisitor is a goofball and eccentric, who wears mismatched armour, a dapper hat and rides into battle on his undead Bog Unicorn "Binky".
FBI: Aaaaadddveeeentttuuuureeee-hoooo!
Cass: *facepalms* I can't believe the fate of the world is in the hands of this idiot!

I just really want to see Vivienne's reaction to your Inquisitor's outfit,it will be priceless!

LOL This whole scenario is just made of awesome. (Have an invisible Like, each of you!)
(edit: Altho, I must ask. What does "Barmy" mean?

It's another word for someone who is completely mad.
That's a clever way to play it!
I've never shipped my Amell with anyone except Alistair (she/I fell pretty hard for him!) My Amell is supposed to be me, which is funny because my first Inquisitor is also supposed to be me, so if they ever meet in-game they're gonna look identical, LOL! Funnily enough, despite the fact that my Amell and first Inquisitor are supposed to be a version of myself I've never actually shipped Cullen with anyone else except the Inquisitor.
... Maybe I should make my Inquisitor a different race to my Amell, so that it won't be weird?
Different race looks like a good idea ![]()
I ship my Amell with Cullen post-Blight, when she isn't his responsibility anymore
I have headcanons about them having feelings for each other back in the Circle, but keeping the distance, and fighting these feelings, because it was dangerous. She never even flirted with Cullen in game. But I believe it's true love, and they are meant to be, and I want them to be happy together some day.
Maybe in AU where she was adopted by Trevelyans instead of an Amell ![]()
I only had one character based on myself. It was a Cousland. I didn't like that origin much, and I couldn't connect with her until I decided to give her my face and sort of my personality, and then it worked. And she's my canon playthrough now, and possesses the Right of First Import (which means, I first imported her save into DAII, and will reconstruct her save for DAI). And somewhere in that version of Thedas there is also my Amell (or maybe she's Trevelyan now?), waiting for Cullen. And when I start playing DAI, I won't feel like it's blowing holes in my ship.
Well, he's definitely romanceable at some point so whether that's just a quick fumble filled with regret, or a full on romantic relationship he definitely gives in and puts out eventually!
OMG, you just made me think of poor James Vega. Maker, no!
I hope Cullen's romance is a romance.

How about your Amell simply taking the name "Trevelyan" after going AWOL from the Wardens, or in the AU where they remained a Circle Mage, taking that name when they all went on the run after the Circle disbanded in Asunder?
Trevelyan means "homestead on the hill" (at least according to one translation), which doubles as a sly reference to both their original home of Kirkwall and the Circle Tower, both of which are located on hills.
Headcanon maintained! ![]()

Yeah, she could fake some documents and pretend she was from the Trevelyan family or something!
I think the human mage will have a different surname than the human warrior/rogue, due to the different background.
I doubt it. We saw all the Surnames in the PAX demo which Mike Laidlaw later said was purposely put in there as a sneaky reveal. We know Cadash is Dwarven, Lavellan is Elven and Qunari is Adaar, which only leaves Trevelyan for humans. I don't think they'd want to make mage Inquisitor's (especially human ones) more special than the warriors and rogues (and non-human mages).
I had no idea they showed the surnames. I rather like the sound of those.
To the discussion. I don't see why even in passed games they changed backstory depending on whether you were a mage or not. Could a rogue Hawke not still be a cousin to an Amell warden? Why did was it only a mage Hawke had this backstory. It's never made much sense to me and I'm glad to see we only have the one this time around.
They said that the human mage background is different from the human warrior/rogue howewer. It'll be special regardless of the name, since it'll be the only background based on the class.I doubt it.
