yea that's kinda what  got me thinking if he might be from somewhere else cause he doesn't actually  "claim " that he is Fereldan just that he has been at the circle   during that time.... hopefully we will get to find out more about his BG  in DAI...

I'm of the idea that Cullen could be from anywhere in terms of where his parents hailed from. He may have ended up in Ferelden and grown up there so it's the only home he knows, which essentially makes him a Fereldan. But as to his lineage? He could have Tevinter magisters for parents for all we know or Qunari viddethari who didn't want to put their child into the general pool of the populace because they couldn't let go of their old beliefs regarding family units. He could have parents from the Anderfels and he was taken by the Chantry when the parents died of sickness and cold and his native Chantry had no room so he was sent to Ferelden. He may be a born and bred Fereldan from a freehold who thought he'd be helping his family by joining the Order and sends them a stipend every month. It could be anything! But Cullen himself seems to identify as being a Fereldan, which I assume means, as far as his memory goes, he was raised there all his life so he sounds Fereldan and acts Fereldan like any other individual who is from Ferelden. We just don't know about his family background or personal past beyond the fact that he considers himself a Fereldan, is devout, takes his duties seriously and we know what he's been through in-game. /wild spec

Awww, I missed talks on our Quizzy's names while watching One Piece, (damn that catchy theme tune). Was hoping to find a better name for my maybe dwarf playthrough than Ren.

Even if he was born Ferelden, for all we know, he's become a Marcher like Hawke by the end of DA2. I've said before that he doesn't strike me as the patriotic type. Especially since both Ferelden and, to a lesser extent, the Free Marches are the source of some particularly bad memories for him.

Thanks guys, truly. At least I still have his sister, Hawke. She's very animated and feisty so I can only hope she makes it. They were both so tiny when I got them. I'm trying my best to be a good "mom" since their mother abandoned them in a barn. But I seriously cried for an hour when I found him. Alas, I don't want to bring the thread down. Thanks for the Cullens, his face cheers me up instantly. Wish me luck with baby Hawke!

Badly. At best, I can only see him begrudgingly accepting him as a kind of know your enemy thing, though even then I think he'll much prefer Solas the Fade expert to an actual spirit. Honestly, I haven't given it much thought. I won't have a Inquisitor who'll be all that willing to take him along until my third playthrough.

Oh my I don't know how my inquisitor will react to Cole, much less Cullen. I don't think he will trust him, that's for sure. Just my opinion, though.

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear about Ser Pouce.  Pets really are family, and it's really sad that he didn't make it.

 

I'm glad he had you to take care of him, though, because you made his brief life a happy one.
