In hindsight, I actually enjoyed TME more, cause I felt it was a much more enjoyable story, and plus the tie in to DAI is SO MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT THAN ASUNDER.

Oooh I will get there. TME is sitting on my shelf trying to lure me c__c but I will not break!

If there was one verse I could apply to Evangeline: "Blessed are those who stand before the corrupt and the wicked, and do not falter". Absolutely LOVE HER.

I wouldn't say it's strange at all! Cole evokes... let's just say a variety of reactions in readers... particularly as the story advances. Personally, I pity him even while he gives me the heebie jeebies. Evangeline is my favorite character.

I'm completely in love with that woman.  <3

He was. The poor guy was lost.

At least he could remember his name. And his sister. I wish we could give him lyrium, I can't believe we just left him there like that.

What about Iminric? The Templar in Howe's dungeon? Alistair said he was in withdrawal stage, didn't he? I can't remember.

I had forgotten him ^^

Speaking of Cullen, there's an interesting story taking place about him and scribe girl in the "Married Companions" thread that I may or may not have incited with innocent, sarcastic threats to scribe girl's face. Just sayin'. This is why I need to stay here ^.^

How? How in Seven Hells did a thread about a guy that had less than forty lines get close to 900 pages?!?

I seriously wish we could've helped him. Recently finished another DAO playthrough and I felt bad for leaving him there all over again. Cullen's not going to suffer through that, not on our watch (granted, I won't say that it wouldn't be interesting to see him falter, since he's been hiding his addiction all this time).

I saw that, and I laughed. Your actions are justified!

Although, say in a play through where you don't romance him, it would be interesting.

So far I am really loving The Stolen Throne! I will probably skip Asunder because from what I have read about Cole, I'm not sure I could relate to him as a main character. Oh well, hopefully in Inquisition I will get a better introduction to him.

Like everyone else said, I really would advise against skipping Asunder. Jessica Merizan encouraged everyone to read it so as to understand the events of DA:I better; sure, it was probably a marketing ploy, but we've yet to see something similar with TME. As for Cole, as R2 said, he does seem to evoke a variety of reactions from readers; I love him from start to finish and never felt "creeped out" by him as some people do. I can't say I'm a huge fan of any of the other characters, who all felt a bit flat to me, but nevertheless, it's a pretty well-written book with a well-paced narrative (something TME severely lacks). And it touches upon the nature of tranquility... now that's some fascinating and heartbreaking stuff.

In comparison, TME is slow, plodding, and clunky in its writing. I can definitely tell it's a different writer. The characters are interesting, definitely, and I have a feeling we'll be seeing them or at least hearing about them in the game. But it's difficult to get through, whereas you coudl probably zip through Asunder in an afternoon.

*shrugs* Since we have a reputation (regardless of whether it's justified) as crazy and overly attached to a minor fictional character, it's probably a good idea just to avoid saying anything that could be interpreted as crazy and overly attached. The odds of anyone guessing correctly that you're joking are just so low.

I'm not sure if the templar in Denerim was in lyrium withdraw, since he still was a templar I'd think he's still taking it and his current state was cause he has been using it so long? Hmm I'm not sure but I don't think there has been ever lot of talk about lyrium withdraw in the game.

Potato already mentioned Samson, but he's the closest I can thinking to being a character who evidences lyrium withdrawal. I think they took great care in crafting his appearance; his face seems pretty haggard and he's got those dark circles under his eyes. What I get from Samson is that he doesn't get lyrium as regularly as he would if he were a templar (since he's getting it on the black market), so he does experience some withdrawal. I think he explained what it felt like to try to get off the stuff; the line is "It just about kills ya." I'm not sure if he's suggesting that he tried to quit and failed, or if he did actually successfully quit and is still suffering from symptoms.

Oh... here's an odd thought: why is Cullen the only templar with dark circles under his eyes? Has Cullen been trying to self-regulate his lyrium in-take? Is he trying to wean himself? Hmmm.

Other LIs must be really amazing to make me want to go for one of them instead of my long anticipated templar. I know it's silly, but I just want it to be my girl and Cullen, and their ten kids and nobody else. I have a feeling it will be like in DAO again: trying a different romance - ending up with Alistair anyway just because

Yeah, so, headcanon accepted. ;) I did notice the dark rings and have wondered about that, though I didn't draw that particular conclusion. I just thought maybe homeboy was tired. Yours is more logical though, really. I could see him weaning himself of it, especially if he HAS left the order, as suspected. DAI and DA2 are so close together that I suspect any plans he was making to have been in the planning stage there at the end of the game.

It will be very hard, but we can try :P

In DAO I had to make a male character just to get away from Alistair, he kept ninjamancing me and I kept letting it happen.

Oh God, no. I've run out of likes! D:

I was just joking around with this one person who returned the sarcastic banter and it was nifty. Then some people thought I was cray cray. No big deal. :P

I'll behave now. *slumps shoulders*

You'll be going about your Inquisitor business, and perhaps try to hit on someone, and Alistair will just show up. He'll just nudge you out of nowhere, all, "Have you ever licked a lamppost in winter?"

<Insert eighteenth version of R2's arguments that Cullen's circles are an indication of his suffering and nightmares, not lyrium related, along with examples of other character models with undereye circles that seem to indicate a range of characteristics including age>

Although it's possible.  ;)
