Soooo.....
I was wondering how Cullen and Dorian will get along, if DHMG really is Dorian. What do you guys think?
As Dorian is an exiled Tevinter Magister, I'd be surprised if there wasn't quite a bit of friction, at least at the start. Although Dorian apparently sees the inherent issues with his country, I doubt he'd be for putting mages into Circles, or letting the Chantry and Templars have power over mages. And although Cullen has seen how the Circle system has been abused in the past, from both sides, I doubt he'd be for letting mages have a lot more power, probably not even equal with Templars or the Chantry. That said, could see these two having equal ground in that they both recognize that something needs to change. Depending on Dorian's personality, they could even form a... not quite a friendship, but close. An understanding. Perhaps they might even come to respect one-another.
I do agree that there needs to less "I would gladly murder you if you weren't a friend of *MAIN CHARACTER*" going on. DA2 felt less like a bunch of friends going out to do awesome stuff and more like one person constantly trying to keep everyone they brought along from killing each other. Just once, I wish I could have shouted, "FENRIS, STOP HITTING ANDERS. ANDERS, LEAVE MERRILL ALONE. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS QUEST AROUND!"
Also, totally buying the Inquisitor's Edition. I never buy myself anything, so this'll be, like, my one treat for the year. ![]()
Sorry for the lack of being around. Been feeling quite under the weather due to allergies (mentally foggy, not quite able to think clearly, thus not really feeling up to chatting), and now we're getting a Freeze warning. In May. [THROWS HANDS IN THE AIR] I haven't worn shorts once.

Edit2: To stay on topic, I don't see Cullen liking any of the mages early on in the game. Maybe he can grow to like some of them, though.

Ah, that's why I always picture her with red hair, even though it's actually brown!
That and Alistair has red hair, at least on my screen.
Huh, how funny. I actually picture her with red hair, too, and never really thought about why, lol!

Yeah, this is the sort of relationship between companions I'm hoping for. And actually I could see them becoming friends. Why not? I really do think the inquisition is going to cause everyone to set aside their previous ideologies, just so they can focus on this immense problem.

A part of me wonders if Cullen will feel responsible to watch over and be protective of the mages in the group-you know, to keep them out of trouble, and to keep others from being trouble to them.

This is lovely but to what does it pertain?
I for one don't really condone people being jerks and trolls; thankfully such "free speech" is removed by the devs and mods here on the BSN lol

Ahh I hadn't really thought of that. He's like the sheep dog who tries to herd children
You can take the templar out of the Circle, but you can't take the Circle out of the templar!

Omg this is my headcanon right now XD I hope he's not hostile towards mages, but I hope he's worried about them ^^

I don't really know how chivalrous he may be, but I hope romanced Cullen doesn't treat the Inquisitor like a delicate little flower.

I think this will have to do with Dorian's personality most of anything. From the survey he's described as disliking the way the things in Tevinter are, which suggests that he opposes the way the magisters abuse their power and possibly their slaves, despite being a magister himself.
Even though I expect someone like Cullen to be initially suspicious of him,if Dorian ends up to be a honourable, just person with morals, unlike the image of the power-hungry magisters we(and Cullen) have so far,I can even seeing them getting along.

Isn't that what the group is for?
You mean that we should hide from spoilers in a group, or that spoilers should go to the group?
I would prefer to stay on forums, groups make me feel isolated. 2.0 forums seems like a good place for it, because it's in DAII forum, and that kind of implies that it's not the best place to discuss DAI plot, since it has nothing to do with DAII
But I think it will be safe to post pictures of DAI Cullen, talk about his backstory and what he did after Meredith, stuff like that. If Cullen has a "Dammit, Anders!" moment in DAI, I wouldn't want to read about it in DAII forum.

A someone who only really ships him with f!Amell and an f!mage!Inquisitor*, a large part of Cullen's appeal to me as an LI is the half-twist on traditional gender roles. It's like Carth Onasi, my current favorite Bioware LI: piled on top of the general Sense of Destiny/Leadership that comes with the fact that they're the protagonist, this person has powers he can never hope to match, but somehow he's still convinced it's his job to protect her. Given that I doubt they'll write that much class-specific content in the romances, and I don't know that he'd treat a warrior or rogue that way since the protecting thing comes from his identity as a Templar, I wonder to what extent the game will change my headcanon in that respect.
* though I enjoy reading Cullen x [pretty much anyone, male or female, except Bethany] fanfiction, and just because I don't personally ship it absolutely doesn't mean I disrespect anyone else shipping it or that I hope that they don't get what they want in DAI

Well the group that Lola created, it's so we can continue to discuss Cullen without being spoiled.
I'm just thinking that if this thread continues to move at such a fast pace that the old thread can be a nice place for people to just talk about Cullen and DA lore, so it wouldn't move so fast. I mean in this thread, you could go to work all day and come back to 50 pages having gone by... and what sucks is BW likes to release info during the day, during the work week, grrrr.
