What I showed was a quote from the Wiki about the Abyssal Reach, in answer to my post about the Abyssal Reach, to which you had queried "???"
Oh okay, so why were you talking about the Abyssal Reach? Is that what the picture is showing?

Considering the potential timeline this scene might be in the game, the Grey Warden is probably in the fortress or in the battle with the darkspawn, and hasn't been joined/recruited quite yet. So, if that's true, it would make sense why they haven't showed him in that picture. Or maybe they just don't want to show him yet, for whatever reason.
Oh... that's something I hadn't considered. I wonder how many of our companions will be recruited via missions like that? That's very ME... I think I like it. For some reason, much as I love DA2, I did not like how the characters joined up with us. It was always just sort of like, "You saved me... I guess I'll tag along then!" Um, okay... thanks? I hope they give them good, solid, character-driven reasons for why each person joins our crew.

Yeah, that's all I was saying. The image shown today looked just like the Abyssal Reach was described.

Aren't all DA games like that, though? Like, we always can recruit people later on in certain missions/instances, and never have the whole crew at once.
I imagine the companions will have a wide variety of reasons for joining. Some, more concrete then others. I imagine characters like Cullen, Cassandra, and Vivienne will join for more political motivated reasons. I see Sera, Iron Bull, and Varric following for more "loose" reasons like convenience, debt to the Inquisitor, or just plain interest in seeing where it goes. Either way, I imagine some characters are going to have loose reasons for joining along, but as long as it feels more united (unlike DA2), I think it'll be okay.
Hmm yes, that's true, isn't it? We did sort of rescue him from the demon who possessed poor Wilmod. Wow, when you think about it, Cullen truly owes Hawke his life. Can you imagine him fighting off all those demons on his own? I'm not sure he could. Wow!
And yes, hmm, now I'm liking the idea of Cullen rescuing us in a spot of trouble, and perhaps my inquisitor would like that, too.
Inquisitor: *thinking* This man, he saved me... and he's just a shem! But... he's so handsome! Ahh! *faints into Cullen's arms*
Cullen: What are you doing?! *now has armful of cute inquisitor*
Inquisitor: *straightens* Oh, did I act that out? That was, um, supposed to be in my head.
Love this post so much, Artemis
So adorable.
Lola's video is amazing! I learned some stuff too! It is amazing how even with all the keeping up I have been doing with info dumps she managed to teach me several things! Hats off to you Lola and your info collecting techniques!
I am happy to hear the part about going to the character creation screen right after hitting the new game button. This way I will be encouraged to do several playthroughs one after another.
As for character playthroughs, I have already decided that my first one will be: a female elf mage followed by a female human rogue. I plan on playing a Qunari at some point too.
My first Inquisitor (so far the only one I have planned) will be a human mage with a serious crush on Cullen. ![]()

I also plan on making a female human mage in my first playthrough. It`s my favorite class and I really want a mage to romance Cullen ![]()
I guess I could run two playthroughs as my firsts. I have been doing it with Mass Effect XD So I'd do Skye (qunari mage) who romances Cullen and then my elf guy who romances DHMG/Cullen depending on which is gay option. Hmm I kind of like to call my dalish elf emperor cause I took inspiration from emperor Tamarin so emperor he is ^^
I don't know if Cullen will be romanceable for a mage Inquisitor. I know my Inquisitor will have feelings for him, but if it's not mutual, she'll just deal with it and get on with her life. ![]()

I actually like the sound of Tamarin Lavellan!

If that happens i`ll just make sure my inquisitor achieves full friendship with him ![]()

It's pretty good ^^ Though it kinda reminds me of Tamlen and makes me sad too... oh well it's still good name. I need to let go my agony over Tamlen ![]()

It's the pain that keeps on giving! I was going to name my inquisitor "Tamlen" but the pain was just too much. So I went with Auren.

Speaking of Tamlen, I have a pickup line for you:
Are you an Eluvian because I CAN'T LOOK AWAY!

*sniffles * poor tamlen

Yeah, my Inquisitor will do her best to be a supportive friend (or at least colleague, if friendship is also out of the question) to him either way. ![]()

You are a monster!
It's still too early to joke about Tamlen's faith.. ![]()
I don't think they will make romances class-specific seeing as there are already gender-specific ones. Class-specific ones would just limit the PC even more and make things frustrating I imagine. I wouldn't worry about Cullen being against a mage romance. He had a crush on a mage once and Hawke, if he/she was a mage, helped him out a lot so I believe he has come full-circle to perhaps giving mages a chance again, if not fully-trusting them. Besides, even if he is apprehensive at first I imagine him getting to know the Inquisitor will change his feelings seeing as Cullen isn't a bigot or anything. He judges a person based on their actions.

Ack!
Too soon! Too soon! ![]()
(Alright, I might have chuckled. A little!)
1 race gender combination working. 7 more to go. aaaaaaaaaaaaaauuugh.
Hmmm.
Am I the only one who does "throw away" playthroughs? I usually just go through the game a couple of times then when I know what's up I make my canon run.
My first playthrough is canon for me. If the character makes mistakes, well, that's realistic - we all make mistakes and have to live with them. ![]()

No,not really,I also tend to play alot of games like this.
In fact I rarely plan my playthroughs before a game is even released.
But DA is a special RP experience for me and I prefer my first playthrough to have a purpose RP-wise.Not that I won't make some characters just for fun or to try different options,it's just that don't really "bond" with them in the same way.
Sometimes though, I might retcon a playthrough if I discover an option more suitable for the character I've designed...

My first playthrough is also canon, but if I make mistakes (for example, have to sleep with Morrigan SO I DON'T DIE) then I either replay that character or I just pretend some of those decisions didn't happen. Thank god for the Keep! ![]()
My Hawke is now requesting a do-over of the Keran situation, but I'm too mean. ![]()

Just tell her "The Keep" and watch her stomp her foot and pout, unable to do anything about it ![]()
One of my DA2 canons completely missed Isabela. You can bet I replayed that one! She turned out to be his best friend. Just ticking a box in the Keep wouldn't have been the same, I admit.
