Just started my first Dalish Elf playthrough and the stuff with Tamlen and the mirror happened way faster than I expected and then when Duncan told me it was hopeless and I'd never find him I STARTED CRYING AND FELT CRAZY.

 

Do you guys ever cry playing video games?

I cried a lot during DAO. With reserved "manly" tears, of course, but still. First time when Gorim kissed meeeee (((( That romance was the most heartbreaking thing ever, and I only saw 10 minutes of it. Second time when my Cousland was leaving her parents behind. Then when Duncan died. That Ostagar scene was just so... hopeless? I was so lost after, I didn't know what to do and where to go.   Next ten times it was because of Alistair, he was either too adorable, or too heroic, or too noble, or an a**hole

Oh the Tamlen feels.. my first warden was dalish and that origin is so sad. Only pain from that one ^^;

I love those parts the best! During the first ever playthrough of a DA game when sh!ts hit the fan and people have died and your protagonist is like "I don't know what to do" but at the same time you yourself are like "omg, I don't know what to do or where to go first, where the hell am I?!" Best feeling ever!

If a full script leak happens for DAI I have no idea how I'll stop myself from reading it, let alone try to avoid it when I need to follow the games development so closely for my videos.

 

It would be super tempting, but for the sake of how amazing this game looks and how hard the team worked on it, I think I can control myself to not look. I'd probably retreat to the Cullen Group, or just abandon the BSN completely since trolls like to put spoilers in the thread titles

I don't mind my Warden going to her calling, but I want her to do it with Alistair at her side so that they can both die together. If either had to do it alone I'd be ****** gutted!

 

This so much! I always imagined them holding hands at the gate and then walking through together when it was time *bawl*

I'm hoping that they've got at least another 10 years left in them yet.

What I do worry about is that decisions I've made in the previous games could spell trouble for past, present and future companions/major characters. For example, one of the devs tweeted that Merrill not breaking that mirror in DA2 may cause problems in DAI.

I wanted to cry when I thought Grunt died, then wanted to cry even more when I found out he was alive. I wanted to cry when Legion killed himself to save the geth. And I was so close to tears at Ostagar, when you just look at his lifeless body....I actually really like King Cailan. UGH THE FEELS

Thinking about it, I wonder if maybe we won't get the the usual temp companions we're supposed to have history with dying on us this time around. I mean, we already know everyone is gonna die at this peace gathering, so it's not like the impact of them dying is gonna have quite as much punch as it would if we didn't know.

I hope so. It will be more than enough for me if I discover that my Hawke, my Warden, Anders, Irving, Fiona, and probably Bethany all went to that gathering and were killed. I will probably throw things. With telekinesis. I normally don't do that, but I'm sure some kind of super power will manifest after such a big stress.

That screenshots that shows the inquisition fighting grey wardens makes me a little worried... I hope we don`t have to fight some of our old companions. I would be heartbroken

It's possible that some of them could be under some sort of spell/thrall or something? Chances are it'll just be npc Warden's we'll physically kill off. I bet Corypheus is behind that one, the little sh!te!

Hi, thought this would be a good time to de-lurk, since the thread is moving relatively slow. Been following this thread for a number of months and am finally getting up the courage to post (yay!) I still can't believe how busy this place gets. Before I joined the forums, I had no idea how popular Cullen was. And now I find out that, I am not even close to alone in my cullen obsession, in fact there are dozens of other people who love Cullen as much as me.

 

A bit belated but welcome! Always happy to see new Cullenites! Stay awhile, pull up a chair, come on in! The crazy's fine! I hope you continue to have fun here.

In DA:O I literally thought that the mirror had been tainted by the Darkspawn some how, but now we know where the Eluvians go and what they do it makes me wonder if the Elves themselves done it, or maybe a demon? Or perhaps even one of the Tervinter Magisters of old? Something obviously done something bad to Tamlen, I thought it was just a Darkspawn that had grabbed him through the mirror and he'd got some of the tainted blood in a wound or something, like what happened to Ser Wesley... but now I'm not so sure.

I'm afraid about that one dude, the half elf half human, what's his name? Fenryl? In Act III if you let him go to Tevinter, you come across that batshit crazy chick that's in love with him through her dreams. Plus in the comics Alistair has to fight that one mage that can control dreams and such. I have a bad feeling that if you didn't kill him, he is going to cause problems for you in Inquisition. Shame since he was such a nice guy too, but power corrupts

I think it might have to do with the in between world. Based on what I read, something didn't seem quite right about it.
