How can you hate poor naive Merrill. Is it because she's a blood Mage?

Speaking for myself, I dislike Merrill because she takes no responsibility for her actions, at least it seems so in the rival route. Everything is the Keeper's fault, or Hawke's fault, or her clan or the demon. She's a nice enough girl, but very immature and that kinda just tweaks on my nerves.

I'm also nervous about our new and old grey warden characters (Including our Origins Warden). We haven't seen "The calling" happen to anyone near and dear yet...so I have a terrible feeling it's finally going to happen in Inquisition. :crying:

I feared this too! I made my brother go over the calculations of the years that have passed since they became grey wardens with me lol I always have wondered when Wardens start to hear the calling more, 5 years before 30? 10? It's only been 10 years since our Warden became a Warden right? So they still have time, but I would hate to see them when things start to go down hill  :crying:

Well, in DAO didn't Alistair say that wardens have about 30 years to live after they have undergone the joining? Wouldn't that mean 15-30 years? I don't think that they hear the calling before that.

*EDIT* From the wiki  Grey Wardens during a Blight are likely to have shorter lifespans. Otherwise, it is commonly between ten to thirty years that the Wardens hear the Calling

Random question, how many years does one "age" last in Thedas? At some point, aren't we going to run out of time for it to still be called the "Dragon Age"

Well, in the game didn't Alistair say that wardens have about 30 years to live after they have been infected with the taint?

I think wardens infected during a blight have less time but I'm not remember if it's mentioned in the game or in a codex

This so much! I always imagined them holding hands at the gate and then walking through together when it was time *bawl*

THIS! I've always had this idea in my head too!

I also imagine that my first Hawke would go with Anders...if her ever makes to the calling without someone murder knifing him :P

Kinda? I just never liked her, and her being a blood mage didn't help matters. Come to think of it, the only DA2 characters I liked were Aveline, Varric, and Non-Grey Warden Bethany :3

It lasts 100 years. :3

I'm at least expecting to see some result of letting Varric keep the shard in DA2.

Also, with the whole Broodmother business going on in the Deep Roads, I'm not sure I'll allow my femWarden to go on her Calling ever. She'll just have to find some other way to die.

I think they still live the same but are more effected by the taint with dreams and such because of the Blight.

Time to investigate!

Well I see her differently. In my opinion she knew the risks involved in blood mage and repairing mirror but she wanted to take all those risks for herself, she didn't want to involve others. I think it's like this with friendship or then I just see her like his ^^

Isabela was that character that's kinda just......there. In DAO it was Leliana. In ME2 it was Tali. In ME3 it was Kaidan AND Tali. I don't hate them, but I don't like them either. So far from what we know about DAI, it will probably be Cole, GW, and Viv.

I really hope it doesn't make him go insane like Bartrand did. It is a smaller piece, and he added it to Bianca, but it is still Red Lyrium. I don't think that it will be that big of a deal though. Maybe in DAI it's a ME3 style War Asset system and the shard gives you less War Assets or more War Assets.

Oooh poor Alistair and the Warden.

Well, they did join during a Blight. So maybe they will hear the calling in DAI. If they do, I at least hope it is a part of the gameplay/main story. If it is just a codex entry about how they are probably dead, I WILL cry.

DA:O was totally the biggest offender, we got super lucky that Cullen survived that attack on the circle! Come to think of it, we've been super lucky with Cullen in general!

*mandatory "getting lucky with Cullen" joke*  ;)

They did, and I forgot/didn't realize that Wardens join during a Blight meant a shorter life span..so now I have more worries lol I agree though, if it's just a codex or Alistair shows up and tells me the Warden is dead I will cry D:

Edit: Top of page goodness because apparently I need it :P

I hope so. It will be more than enough for me if I discover that my Hawke, my Warden, Anders, Irving, Fiona, and probably Bethany all went to that gathering and were killed. I will probably throw things. With telekinesis. I normally don't do that, but I'm sure some kind of super power will manifest after such a big stress.

I have a feeling DA:I will do that to us. :)

It's like I said before... it was a shame those two people got burned alive. In the chaos, it's understandable that people confused them for the Warden and Hawke. Fortunately, we know the truth that the Warden and Hawke are safe and well.  ;)

I felt the same way about Merrill, to be honest. It didn't make me dislike her, but it made the character seem very young to me, so I kept forgetting she was supposed to be an adult.

But they said at the end of DA2 that the warden was missing, so how would Alistair know anyway? :3

I think the age thing before going on the Calling is just an average. Sort of like the life span in real life. We've got an average life span, but you never know how long you'll actually get.

Some GWs will not live very long after becoming a GW. Some will live a bit longer than those 30 years. Most will get their Calling between 10-30 years after becoming a GW.

Joining during the Blight would work as a risk factor; the average time before the calling will be shorter than when there's not a Blight, with more GWs going on their Calling earlier, but some GWs will still go on for a significant time after their joining and maybe even get their 30 years (or more!). And others will only be Wardens very briefly before their Calling sets in.

At least that's how I view it.

For me I will probably ignore GW, Varric and Solas.

Because...because....the bond between lovers? (in my case) lol I don't know. I just had an emotional moment...logic is coming back :P

Maybe he does know but refuses to tell? ..nah he's not that good at lying is he?

My headcanon at the moment is that Alistair knows where my Warden (his wife) is, but she swore him to secrecy so he's not telling anyone.
