I know the first time I cried was the ME3 ending. God that was heartbreaking. We're talking full on disgusting sobs, too.

After that, I played the whole trilogy and got to know guys like Thane, Legion, and Mordin. :

Ah, Mordin was my favourite!  A lot of the other characters were amazing, too.

Their sarcastic banter is one of the reasons I love DAO. To give sarcastic remarks and then get them thrown right back at you is one of my favorite things! :) I still snicker when Alistair says "Can you go crawl into a bush somewhere and die? That's be great, thanks" to Morrigan even though I know it's coming and have heard it a million times.

XD Yes, this! There was SO much great banter in the first game. I loved Wynne re: Alistair's socks, and Shale had so many funny comments, too ... I really look forward to getting to know our new companions. Even if Cullen won't be able to participate in party banter, I do hope he will comment about current events or other party member when we do get to interact with him.

My Alistair romance flags never triggered either : p

My opinion of Orsino: Idiot

He turns into the big monster thing, creating a bigger problem for hawke, and does it AT THE WORST TIME. Meredith isn't even in front of him. I mean, REALLY!?!?! At least turn into the big monster thing when Hawke goes up against Meredith, that might of helped out a bit ya know!

Though my main reason is due to a giant plot problem on the part of the writers, I still don't like him.

Side-note because I just realized this:

The DA2 ending would of been a lot more stable and well done if:

Side with mages: Orsino fights with you, then transforms during final battle against Meredith.

Side with Templars: Meredith fights with you and then goes bats***t crazy during the final battle against Orsino.

Bah - the whole third act was plot problem after plot problem. I sided with the Templars to get a crack at Orsino (didn't like him either). I figured it was a better reason than that rubbish Hawke was forced to spout when making the choice.

You guys are talking about so many awesome thing! Argh catch up!

Ok in regards to us getting lucky with Cullen still being alive I think Cullen somehow manages to be one of the most lucky AND unlucky characters at the same time. For example,
1.captured and tortured by demons and watched all his friends die-Unlucky
Only one in the entire group of Templars to survive the ordeal. Lucky!
2. Sets after recruit who has been possessed by a demon and rescued just in time by Hawke and co-Lucky!
Recruits in his ranks are now getting possessed by demons. Unlucky.
3. Goes to Kirkwall and finds a commander that agrees with his position on mages, values and promotes him. Lucky!
Leader goes off the bend and wages a war in Kirkwall -unlucky :D so he's got an interesting mix of luck.

In regards to Anders blowing up the Chantry...to me he killed people who were innocent in an act of terrorism. He didn't go after the templar head quarters even. So even though I never killed him I would never agree with his actions. Murdering innocents gets a zero in my book.

In regards to crying I feel like a monster! I've never cried playing a video game that I can remember. I've cried for movies though. Up gets me man. Every time.

Also welcome and stay delurked!

That only happened because they wanted a second boss fight at the end of the game.

This I've heard as well, I think pointing to the fact that most of Orsino's plot deficiencies are really a casualty of the limited development time for DA2.

Interesting. Now I wonder if maybe Cullen is not a companion because he somehow got rid of lyrium addiction, and now he thinks he's useless in a fight, because he lost his abilities. But he still offers his strategic mind as an asset to the Inquisition.

Getting back to Cullen... This would be really interesting. Of course, I would love for him to be lyrium free, so this could be a cool, healthy way for him to be, erm, sidelined as an advisor. Plus, some fun issues for you to deal with in the romance, his midlife crisis of having lost his mojo. Heh.

I thought Orsino was awesome and then he did that thing. So pointless when my merry band of misfits was taking it to the templars big time. Very jarring.

And..... I just finished Asunder a few minutes ago. So obviously Asunder stuff ahoy under the spoiler tag.

I wonder how much lyrium will be a factor in his story. I mean, he's not a party member, so I kind of doubt they'd dwell too much on lyrium addiction with him. It would be awesome if he's free of it, but I always got the impression that it would really mess you up ... I do like the theory that that's why he's an advisor though. I just don't know which way they're going to go. I'm sure he'll be involved in securing lyrium for us and choking the supplies of the red templars.

Having to say goodbye to Pikachu at the end of Hey You Pikachu was pretty upsetting for me.

Well blowing up the chantry was meant to be more symbolic than anything else. But nonetheless I do agree with you, even if I don't kill him in my canon either.

Same. And I roleplayed that particular Hawke as a political radical who had no problem killing for coin, so killing for ideology wasn't much of a stretch. Other Hawkes have taken different paths.

Yeah, I'm curious as well. I'd hate for him to be suffering... not just because I'm softhearted for the big lug, but addiction storylines just don't really gel for me.

In any event, I anticipate they'll have to address how templars who don't work for the Chantry are getting their lyrium. If Cullen is still on it and works for us... I wonder if it'll be an issue. Then again, given our alliance with the Seekers, Cass and Leliana, seems like we're still sort of Chantry friendly. Unless the Chantry writes us off after we form the Inquisition. Hmm... questionquestions.

And, BTW, welcome back!! :D

Yep, I find it hard to be super self-righteous when we play as characters that butcher people left and right. Good and bad.

I can't go back and find the posts now to respond, but I meant to mention about E3: Last year they only told us that DA:I would likely be part of the EA Press Conference. The press conferences took place the day before the actual show began, and were all televised by SpikeTV and the like. There were also a series of broadcasted interviews with Aaryn Flynn after the announcement. So, in principle, there should be a TV sched for whoever is broadcasting the E3 stuff. I honestly don't know how they would talk about a new game that's already been announced, tho, since I don't normally follow E3. Presumably not as part of the Press Conference this time.
