I think Gaider stated that we won't be able to marry Celene/rule Orlais through marriage (don't remember which one of the true). I don't think it'll be possible.
Thank the maker there's still cullen....

I was reading some DAO banters the other day and started thinking about jealousy in the games. In the previous two games there was jealous banter and full on confrontation if you were trying to romance two companions at the same time.
I was trying to imagine how Cullen would react in a love triangle. I don't know if it's the fact that he seemed so inexperienced in relationships in the previous games but somehow I think he might just bring it up with the pc and tell them he's "stepping down" if there's someone else. I can't see him really throwing around cutting remarks to the other LI or fighting off competition. What do you guys think?
If you (or your Inquisitor) doesn't have a clear opinion of the right thing to do, I think consulting your military adviser is one of the best courses of action you could take.
I plan on my Inquisitor doing that, because the whole thing is such a mess and Cullen has a good head on his shoulders to help the Inquisitor sort through it. The military adviser is there to do more than just look pretty.

I'd like to think that he'd bow out and end the relationship with the Inquisitor if he discovered that he was part of a love triangle. I don't think he'd bicker with the "other man/woman" I've always thought that he'd probably refuse to talk about it or maybe make one threat to get them to shut up (like Alistair does to Morrigan when she tries to have a dig at him after he has to dump a non-noble Warden if he's unhardened and set to be King).

I'm hoping he'll be like this instead of the other way around. I mean, if you leave him for someone else and that other LI tries to rub it in, I wouldn't mind him getting a good zinger in, but for the most part I'd like to see him handle it like a grown up.

Hmm, this makes me think along the lines of Alistair. He said something similar in terms of 'stepping down' when I was flirting with both him and Zevran. He never had jealous banter, did he? I mean, he wasn't as upfront like Fenris or Anders I don't recall, except for that confrontation at camp and he even said something along the lines of he didn't want to seem jealous or something like that, I don't remember.
There were a few lines to Leliana asking why all the ladies fall for Zev and what was his secret etc, but no real proper jealousy dialogue. Bless him, Alistair is still my favourite LI of all time.
I'm not recalling any jealousy lines from Alistair. He handled getting dumped/dumping the warden quite well for a 20 year old guy, all things considered.

Oh my I wonder if Cullen will have to ask for help in courting the pc! Would make sence as Alistair (who has a rather similar background in the romance department) asks Leliana/ Wynne for advice in some of the banters. Who could he ask though?

Varric, perhaps.
I've always wondered what his reaction will be once you've bedded him and then be like: "yeah, I'm not interested/this was a one off" sort of thing? Presumably he wouldn't shag you without real feelings being there (unless we're incredibly wrong about his personality, lol), so I can't imagine he'd be best pleased. I don't think he'd threaten the Inquisitor like Anders does with Hawke: "you'll regret this", though.
I suspect he'd have a really sad pained look on his face, close his eyes for a moment and then go right back into professional mode trying to control his voice and emotions: "As you wish. From now on it would be better if you only approach me regarding professional matters, Inquisitor." But the whole time he'd have his back to her/him so that she/he couldn't see the gutted expression on his face. Poor baby.
(I'd never take that option btw. I'd have to watch it on YouTube or make a really god awful looking Inquisitor to do all the horrible stuff for "lols".) ![]()

I think if he did then he'd be more subtle about asking than Alistair was, LOL!

Worse person to ask ever! That would end up in one of his stories or gossip around the drinks table!

He's the only person in that group that we know of who always has a significant other.

Lol, Bianca. I'm hoping we can meet the bows namesake and get them back together. Rumor has it that she's not actually dead...

I hope so as well. I wonder how she really looks like since the only image we saw of her was in Varric's dream world.

Yes! I could so see this being his reaction.
I rewatched the Anders part on youtube a while back and I gotta say he was pretty scary/ weird! Worked for the character though. Not so much for Cullen ![]()
Varric could work as a "counselor" as he has experience in the subject but with the side effect of everyone knowing all about the romance within a matter of hours ![]()

I think he wouldn't want to be part of love circle at all and would want straight answer from Inquisitor that who she/he wants to be with. If there was any vagueness about does quizzy want keep both relationships I think he would then broke up with her/him. I wonder if he's being cheated or if he is being the one broken up with I wonder if he would feel that his trust has been broken and how much it would affect his and quizzys relationship. I think he'd think that duty goess first and be polite but I think his relationship with quizzy would change to colder and more professional.

All I'm saying is Leliana (or any other companion/npc) better keep their claws out whilst my Inquisitor is dating him!

Why Leliana specifically? I don't see her as being involved in any romantic subplot unless she romanced the Warden. That and the dialogues about the Inquisitor and *inser LI here* like your group always does.

Because she's an npc like Cullen so she'll be back at base/skyhold with him... same goes for the lady in gold and blue. I don't mind if I'm romancing someone else in the game, but I don't like people encroaching on my bitches, LOL!

But yeah, I don't really see them having people encroach on LIs until at least far enough in the game where it's most likely you either are in one or are not going to romance anyone that playthrough.

This reminds me of the love triangle in Mass Effect where you can have either Kaidan and Liara or Ash and Liara confronting Shepard. The human love interest calls it quits if Shepard isn't ready to be with just one love interest but Liara seems to just want to be with Shepard no matter what. So Cullen would propably have a reaction similar to the Kaidan/Ash and act much as you suggested.
Do you think that breaking up with him could lead to bigger consequences later on? Like him switching sides or not trusting the pc when it would be vital that he did?

I don't use their nicknames because not everyone knows them and then people get confused, and then I get confused lol.
