Oh but we CAN'T be attracted to his looks because that just means we're shallow!

Damn, I guess I'm ceasing to be a young male
Hey guys, mind slowing down a bit? I'm still getting my piece(s) done for the 1000 page celebration! Just kidding haha
just want to butt in here with another random topic, but what do you guys think saved Cullen from Uldred and the blood mages? I actually think his naivety played a big part in it. He didn't really want power in the magi origin, all he really wanted was to be a knight. So maybe something like that separated him from the fate that most of the other Templars faced? Not all of the Templars were bad, but most of them wanted something that the Order couldn't give them, for example that Templar who thought the desire demon was his wife and kids. On the other hand we've got Cullen who just wanted to excel in the Order. Sorry if this has been talked about before, but I only found out about the game's existence in February ![]()

Actually, no joke, that's supposed to be the plan. I think we were talking about being pretty conservative about our posts when we hit the 950 or 970 mark (I forget which one). Which is brilliant, because I've been procrastinating and have all of ten sentences written.
And that's a really good question! I've always thought it was just really good timing, like he was in the right place at the right time... fate.
But someone who is more knowledgeable in lore probably has a better grasp on that subject.
Funny, the first time I saw Cullen's DAII screenshots, I thought he was UGLY. Yes, I did. I was staring at the screen, thinking, "Eww, no . I know how Cullen looks, and this baby-faced panda is not Cullen!"
I think it was bad lighting, because his face grew up on me later, as the characted did, but I still can't forgive what they did to his nose in DAII. He had the best nose in DAO, fun to draw.
And his MOLE.

Well that's intresting thought and I think it migth be right one ^^ We don't fully know why he didn't break and gave in, especially if you play mage origin where he was also tortured with his feeling of guiltiness and shame over liking mage warden. Maybe he just had stronger mind, maybe he got lucky somehow, maybe it was that he didn't want much more than he had : )

Somehow.. I don't like his DAO look that much. I like his noodle hair but to me he is better looking overall in DA2 ![]()
I'm going to start conserving my likes at 970 in preparation for 1000. I suggest conserving likes for the celebration to all of you, but please feel free to voice your enjoyment of what others say.

I completely agree with you on this! I've always felt his face had so much more character in DAO and the fact that he had a bit of a "horseface" (meant in the most affectionate way possible lol!) explained some of his shyness towards the female pc. His nose was my favorite as well. I was super sad to see it changed in DA2.
As far as his DAI appearance goes I'll just have to wait until we see more of him. I do wish they'll make him look a little older than in the previous games.
Edit: And the mole! I can't believe I forgot to mention it ![]()
I remember close to DA2's launch they showed us the first 2 minutes of the game. I hope they do so with Inquisition.

How far in advance did we get the playable demo? I keep thinking it was a couple of months...maybe the Feb before the release?
I think the looks always play some part in attraction, usually big one too. But I don't think it can only be diminished to that like some seems to do. I remember this thread here asking why people like Cullen and someone just answered: they are fangirls and they think they are handsome. Well there is fangirls who think he's handsome of cource but it's not all about that, personality and character traits and flaws plays a huge part. It was somehow insulting just diminishing cullenites love to only drooling over him when Cullen is much more complex, intresting and gray character.
Strangely enough,I didn't pay much attention to his looks at first...But I liked him as a character ever since my pc met him in the tower,I found him rather easy to relate to,which is rare considering his minor role in the game, especially in origins.
Although,it was his evolution in DA2 that made him appreciate him even more and become intrigued. But yeah, there are many npc's that also happen to be good looking and I also noticed their good looks immediately. For me,it's his character development that drew me to him.
Im super happy to say, that I finally managed to finish my 2nd pic for the celebration along with the video

That's great Adela! Can't wait to see them!! ![]()
Maybe they will mix it up this year and show us the last two minutes of the game.
There's SUPPOSEDLY too many for that to go over well I'd assume!

My cord better be here today so I can finish my fic for the 1000 page celebration.
As I've waited I have taken so many notes for what I wanted to do in that short fic and narrowed it all down. Sorry y'all, but the Inquisitor in my fic will be a mage! Forewarning! ![]()

It's same for me, I didn't care about him so much in DAO, he was just regular NPC since mage origin isn't what I used to play. He slowly grew to me more in DA2, the more I talked with him the more I liked him. So although I like his looks that wasn't what draw me into his character : )
Also I was curious as to how we are going to post our fanfics for the 1000nth page celebration. Since some are stories should we post a link to avoid clutter? I have a steamy excerpt from a story and a steamy poem I wrote. Lol What can I say *shrugs shoulders* I like steamy
R2 was saying that anything under 500 words and not steamy could be posted up in here, probably under a spoiler tag so that it won't muddy up the pages too much. Anything longer and CERTAINLY anything steamier should be linked instead.
I'll be keeping an eye out for those posts.
Ha-cha-cha.

For stories, I think the usual (at least for non celebration pages haha) is to post a link from FF.net, or AO3 or wherever.
Short things, though, would probably be fine under a spoiler cut, I would think.

Doesn't page fit only 25 post though? I think we have more than 25 people taking part in celebration. So I wonder how we get all in right page?

Yes, anything under 500 words that is Safe For Work can be posted on the page itself, and honestly... don't worry about spoiler tags. Cluttered is fine! It's a celebration! Otherwise, post elsewhere and post a link on Page 1000. NSFW stuff should be posted elsewhere regardless, fic and art, and linked.

Here's what happens when we get to Page 1000. First, we STOP posting at 995. FULL STOP. Because you can never tell what page you're on without refreshing. We'll inch our way in to make sure we know exactly when we hit the first post of Page 1000. Lola and I will take care of that. Then, once we hit page 1000, post away! Only celebration posts, no chatter until page 1001 (I mean, really no chatter! No compliments! No news! No nothin' but celebration posts til page 1001.). Anyone who's not around, we'll save spots for (again, Lola and I will take care of that). So be sure to let us know you want a spot. We always double up on posts, so having more than 25 things isn't an issue. If you personally have more than one thing, try to post them all in one post to leave space for others. We don't usually have so many people contributing, so we'll have to be more frugal than normal.
Again, you can see past celebrations for examples of how it goes down. Particularly for the former Page 4000 on the old thread, where we had to deal with this new fangedly forum format.
