Just as a comment as I've read through the past (several) pages of discussion.  I recognize that for the most part this is a thread of Cullen fans talking about almost anything (Cullen or otherwise....).

But please don't use this thread as a sort of haven to return to if you want to talk about other forum members, particularly in a defensive or potentially negative way.  I know for the most part you get along in part for your enthusiasm for Cullen, but I'd prefer to not have to come in and moderate based upon coming here to seek solace from perceived slights from posters on other parts of the forum.

I don't quite understand the last sentence, but... who was talking about other forumers here? 

 

This is not a regular thing that happens here... maybe it would be best to contact the specific people who did this rather than chastise the entire thread... which, to my knowledge, does not regularly participate in bashing/trash-talking anyone at all.

 

And to everyone else: as usual, let's keep it on topic (which I think we've done a fairly excellent job of doing of late, so not sure what this warning pertains to).

As she whispers into his ear, she quietly walks him back through the green mist, before the portal shuts, forever entombing the man within the Fade.

The man slowly melts into her embrace, letting loose a sigh of contented bliss into the misty air. Unbeknownst to him, small streams of light are rising from his heart, only to be absorbed by the creature of desire that lay above him. His face began to slowly wither as she began to glow brighter in response. And through it all, he smiled in happiness, filled with dreams of his beloved. These dreams held him tightly, until he had breathed his last, sliding into Death's sweet, cold embrace...

 

As his dawn colored eyes began lose their light, he heard a voice cry out into the dark reaches of the Fade. A large cut of green light ripped through the air in front of the pair, startling both the fading man and demon. A great light arose from the sliced air, before widening, creating a doorway into the mortal realm. Stepping through was a sight Cullen had thought was lost to him. A figure launched themselves through the newly made portal, left hand held before him, blazing with a nimbus of fell, green light. The foul, Fade magic was launched at the desire demon, withering away its essence, bringing true death. And still, Cullen's eyes began to close, his life force unfortunately trapped within the now destroyed demon.

 

A great cry arose from the Inquisitor, and the last thing Cullen heard before succumbing to the darkness was the man yelling for Dorian.

So, in the past few days I've tried drawing a few DAI Trailer Cullens in an effort to get myself more used to the new look. So far it's kind of backfired in that he always ends up looking really pissed off, which isn't helping. Hope we get a better look at DAI Cullen soon!

Understood. Sorry for that one post from a couple days ago I think, or may have even been this morning, I don't remember (sad, I know) if I could find it (no idea what page it was on) I'd edit it to empty it.

And sorry to any to may have been offended by my sarcasm. Please call me out if I ever say anything out of line, y'all, and I'll edit and be quiet. Sometimes I joke too much and don't realize it at the time.

Oh okay, I vaguely remember that Don't feel too bad; maybe next time someone is rude to any of us we should report the person. It's a pretty common occurrence for people to be rude to Cullen fans, and we're just so used to it that we're more likely to just talk about it here than report the person.

But I do think it serves as a good reminder that we should get better about brushing our shoulders off and not letting anyone offend us with their contrary opinions. And if someone does, maybe this isn't the best place to discuss it. Most of us communicate in places outside of the BSN, so we could take it there. And we should focus more on staying on topic.

It's cool and no worries.  I'm very sarcastic too.  I have no issues with it.  It just runs into tip-toeing waters because I came across the post and actually have no context for how it got here.  Based on the nature of the thread based on me catching up on it, the thread was sort of becoming more of a general "Cullen fans talking about whatever" and I prefer to nip any sort of potential animosity in the bud as I've seen LI character conversations get really heated in the past.  Without context I was like "Hmmmm."

 

No hard feelings.  Misunderstandings happen.  I apologize if you feel embarrassed about it (for what it's worth, I don't think you have to), but I mostly aired it to the the group as a whole just because I wasn't sure if there was some level of rallying support and with misunderstandings being inevitable (it's human beings talking to each other) to make sure this remains a positive thread for Cullen discussions.

 

I hope that makes sense.

 

(And as usual if people are griefing you or anything like that, feel free to right up a report or even send a mod or myself a PM if you have a question or need clarification about stuff).

I was trying to imagine how Cullen would react in a love triangle. I don't know if it's the fact that he seemed so inexperienced in relationships in the previous games but somehow I think he might just bring it up with the pc and tell them he's "stepping down" if there's someone else. I can't see him really throwing around cutting remarks to the other LI or fighting off competition. What do you guys think?

 

I think he would calmly confront the Inquisitor about it, and ask about the Inquisitor's intentions. If the Inquisitor stated a preference for Cullen over the other person, I think Cullen would politely but firmly insist the Inquisitor needed to break off the other relationship for the Cullen/Inquisitor relationship to continue. If the Inquisitor seemed at all unsure who she/he wanted to be with, I think Cullen would step aside - partly out of chivalry, but partly because I think Cullen would just be too world-weary to be willing to deal with a lot of drama in his relationship. I think he'd be craving some stability at this point. 

 

Do you think that breaking up with him could lead to bigger consequences later on? Like him switching sides or not trusting the pc when it would be vital that he did?

 

I actually don't, because I don't think Cullen is the sort to put his personal feelings before his duty. I think he would continue to do his job to the best of his ability and would simply cease to interact with the Inquisitor outside his official capacity. I think his work would be entirely correct, and he'd freeze the Inquisitor out emotionally.

 

I know we've been assuming advisors won't be able to leave because we need them to run our keeps, but I won't be shocked if they can leave in extreme cases. If we're disagreeing with everything they say, we're probably not devoting many resources to their faction anyway.

 

Yeah, I do think it would be possible to lose an adviser. Personally, I don't think it would be for simply disagreeing with them - I think that would be expected in their role. I think you'd be in danger of losing them if your Inquisitor started making decisions that were past basic moral boundaries or were off-the-rails crazy, though.
