My hope is that Cullen is serious, but a little awkward when out of his depths. (Non-official conversations, perhaps. Talking to Inquisitors who... inquire after hours.) I hope his romance had some sweetness to it, though.
I'm with you/Hoping for the same. I don't want all sweetness and rainbows, but I'm not looking for an angst-fest either. I always felt that Alistair and Zevran were both appealing to me as LIs because they both had a good blend of humor-and-depth...Alas, while I truly enjoyed many aspects of both Anders and Fenris as companions and characters, as LIs I found them both to be kinda equally unsatisfying in that there was just... Sooooo much angst, balanced by too few casual conversations. I'm hoping that we can definitely learn more about Cullen (and ANY LI's, really) POV on serious/difficult issues, but balanced in a manner more akin to DAO, where there are 'breather' character arcs of conversation that don't plummet constantly into somber/intense domain. If... that makes any sense.
Part of what appeals to me with Cullen is that I've always had a solid sense of humanity/genuine compassion/compassionate-honor from him.... that's something I'd like highlighted/explored.
