When i start the game after several seconds setup hangs up and not making any further progress. I have encountered the same problem here, in support topic, but after updating software nothing has really changed. I have  Windows XP SP 3. With my hardware i was able to start ME and complete it several times. Maybe someone can help me. Thank you.

Mass Effect 2? The game that is not being released until Tuesday?

If you managed to snag an early legal copy, great, but since hardly anybody else has it, you likely won't get any help until Tuesday. If you got it through other means, well that just might be your problem. Buy the game when it comes out and see if that fixes things.

indeed it'll be hard for anyone to help you troubleshoot your issue for the time being. Note even Bioware's made comments support is not yet setup until Tuesday.

Mass Effect does not release untill the 26th, how would one manage to get a legal copy before it's released. They are really no pirated burn disn I assume so the person must work for a retail chain and snagged a copy. However I don't think

the manager approved or she could be fired. I know I tried when Star Wars came out, I nearly tried to beg to get a disc a few days before it's release. However to your question, since there are no legally released copys out yet. We do not know

Maybe they haven't allowed people to active it on the server untill the 25th

edited, if its legally released where you are...then can you please direct us to a website that shows proof of this. I don't think Bioware said release date Jan 26 for kicks

If there copies of the game for sale in your country then they are being sold early, likely in violation of the contracts with the publishers.   Doesn't change the fact that it is early, and there won't be any support until at least Tuesday.

It's just that Bioware has set it's release Date for the 26th, Game stop, EB games, Amazon etc. All the stores, least in America won't give out a copy before it's release date goes for Target, Toys R Us and people who live outside the united states have to wait an extra couple of daysto get theres after the US get theirs

I'm just a little dumbfounded, that a place outside the united states would be able to pre sell the game four days before its actual release date. However if that's actually true, then I suppose congrats on getting a pre released copy

The trouble you may be having it that its not actually Mass Effect 2 disc OR Bioware had placed a lock on games untill the release date. But then again that woulnd't make sense, because you could be offline and it wouldn't know. To put it simply, I do not know

To be honest its not really solving my problem. Why should i care about company's game release politics if i already bought it and it is not working on my system? More than that. I see no sense in this pointless discussion, lets get back to the problem. I suppose that engine the game uses havent changed, so maybe if you imagine i have ME1 we can resolve this issue?

Then what problems are you having when you try to load it, a certain error code? does it say anything? Do you have the rest of the game installed, just when you click lanuch it's not working?



A few details to help out then simply it won't load will get a long way

Its when i start a new game. I import character from ME1 and game starts loading some resources. It Shows mass relay and some numbers above it. It starts count from 0 and when count reaches 5000000+ it stops loading anything( this happens pretty quick: 2-3 seconds). In order to make things running i installed latest versions of DirectX, C++ redst, PhisX, Nvidia drivers for videocard.

I would be lying if I said I knew the answer to this question, perhaps someone else does. I bought a digtal verizon of Mass Effect 1 and was having a hard time even having it loading.



Surprising considering I am far surpassed the requirements. Though the staff I don't think can handle any of these questions untill the released date time. I can't even post in Mass Effect 2 spoilers untill 26th

I am sorry Azure, but I won't be able to help you until I get my copy on the 26th. It is not really about game politics here that is not making the community here trying to help you, but the fact that we DON'T know what is even going on. We don't know how it is going to be installed, or what is going to be installed, how is it going to actually run and know all the errors and faults. We simply don't have the game in our hands yet and therefore we don't seriously know what is going on. Your bug looks like an issue in-game but if we don't have the game yet, we don't know what to tell you to resolve it. I will have to suggest you will need to wait till the 26th and until someone else hits a snag similar to yours. Otherwise I won't be able to help.



In addition, ME 2 uses the same engine as ME 1 but ME 2's version of UE 3 is vastly updated from the first. Also you will need to note that the importation system and other various game mechanical tweaks are all new and can't be compared to ME 1. Furthermore, the coding in ME 2 is vastly improved, optimized from ME 1 and will yield different coding from the two games, despite both using UE 3. (ME 2 is UE 3.5 actually, so some changes were done that keeps it similar to ME 1's overall feel, but the nitty-gritty details in the coding and such are different from each other).



However support on these forums and the majority of us getting our copies are going to be under BioWare and EA's jurisdiction. We won't get it till the 26th in NA and the forums will update support on the 26th. I don't know how your country managed to sell it early but w/e the reasons on how they did it will still not make the support on this forum active till the developer's discretion on the 26th. Either way, I can't help you till I get my game and see what's what with bugs in it and I don't get it till next week.

Thats a nice answer thank you. Some people wrote on that shop's forum that they have the same issue, but all others have no problems running the game and praising it like hell, but unhappy about unlocalized version.

don't know if what i'm writing is helpful, but you could try to install the game on another pc to make sure it's from you and not from your copy. Also, have you tried starting a fresh game, without importing a save game?

other ideas would be to try and clean your pc, scan for errors, defragment the hard drives, reinstall the game without running other programs at the same time or whatever else you can think of.

monshael thanks Looks like i managed to make it work, i did many stuff like flashing bios, updating all kind of drivers, starting the game with different graphic settings and eventually it run, thanks you all for the help.

Have same loading problem as well.
I use windows XP sp3, all latest drivers. Checked couple of forums and there are many people with same problem - but no conclusion yet.

Crap. It is all back to where it was. Game is not loading again. Damn, what could have changed? I have updated bios and CPU drivers, DirectX, Videocard drivers, C++ redist. , PhysX, and tried to change some graphic settings, tried to start game with ME1 saves and with new character. ITs all the same. My hardware: Athlon 3700+ (2.21 Ghz), 1 Gb DDR1, Geforce 8600 GTX (256 mb). Windows XP sp3.
PS. Rinken its exactly the same as on your screen.

The issue is fairly common among those with single core processors from what I've gathered searching around. I'm going to guess that you'll have to wait around for an official release see if the problem still exists and hope for a fix.

Because you are not supposed to have the game before the release date, and they do not offer any support before the release date. I'd say that's as simple as it gets.

Looks like you'll be waiting LONGER than most of us just to play your early-gained copy. What store did you get it from exactly? That bit sounded a bit shady to me.
