updated the code so bonus effect work but my hair still appears :( also if anyone know how to post files on here because they want my alliance armour then i will try to upload it if possible

I just tested this code on my current Shep and it worked fine. However, he does have a shaved head.

Just tested the above code on a FemShep with long hair as well and it worked perfectly. No clipping. So I guess just make sure you're copying/pasting the exact code and be sure it's going into the right location.

Are you pasting the code into the lowest blank line? And this might seem dumb to ask, but are you remembering to hit save after making the changes? Is Origin running in the background when you're editing Coalesced.bin? (If it is, close it first)

Yes to the rest, but that could be my problem right there.

I've had Origin revert changes in the past if it's open, so I usually close it before doing any editing.

Okay, so I shut Origin down before doing any editing, and this is the code I pasted into a blank spot under biogame.ini>sfxgame>sfxplayercustomization>helmetappearances:

Just used that code and my hair still pokes through the front, im guessing it is to do with my hair style, and i can't be putting the code in the wrong place otherwise the hat wouldn't appear at all if it was wrong.

unless there is a way to change the hair style for when I am wearing armour but for scenes where you are not wearing any headgear and just walking around the ship I could keep it how it is now?

Ah well, thanks Animositisomina, I appreciate the help. To quote a krogan from ME1, "Stupid machine!"  My current playthrough kinda stalled while I tried to figure this out, I guess I can get back to playing it now.

well thanks for helping atleast i can use the armour if i want to but i don't think it looks that great without the beret :(
