been a long time since i read the books, but im almost certain this is a hitchhikers reference

As is the Leviathan reference as it refers to a living ship I.E. Farscape those living ships were known as Leviathan class ships.  John Crichton would be pleased.

How about Armstrong Nebulae: Vamshi System: Planet Maji

There was that large skull you find that doesnt appear on any database...making it of unknown origin.

I alwase thought it was a giant Gizka skull. (starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gizka)

I suspect that the Leviathan was actually none other than Sovereign. Remember that it was the Batarians who found it in Revelations. There may be simply be misinformation about the "organic" part, as the Reapers, while inorganic, are clearly just as complex and sophisticated as any organic creature, and has distinctly organic appearance.

Sovereign was found on orbiting a completely different planet.

Remember the part where it said that the Batarians moved the Leviathan?

Want to know what else is freaky? These are only the mystery planets in Council space. We're being thrown into the Terminus System now. There's bound to be many more mysteries, which is exciting. Just think, a planet like Ilos was hidden away in the Terminus Systems.

Just goes to show even the unimportant planets have some significance. Well done Bioware and well done ReDSH1FT for taking the time to write all that stuff down.

Hey, good work ReDSH1FT. It would be nice to solve a few of these mysteries, maybe as sidequests perhaps.

Are you refering to that nebular computer? This was an amazing and chilling subplot on its own. A civilisation developed under a dead, pitch black sky, with no concept of the universe, of its unfathomable distances and sizes, of even there being such a place is suddenly and unexpectedly exposed to all of it, and the horror of it drives them insanely, psychotically xenophobic. It was one of the best actual psychological profiles for a mindless destructive force I've ever seen.

Yeah, The Guide might be a comedy but some of its concepts gave me chills.

If you read the book one of the characters reflects on the impossibility of moving Sovereign without an entire fleet of tugs. And that was from orbit. There isn't another ship in the Relay Nexus capable of lifting Sovereign off of a planetary surface as dead weight. Whereas the Leviathan was stolen by a single Batarian Dreadnought.

Unless something was retconned they were different ships.

I want to see these mysteries incorporated into the sidequests of Mass Effect 2. I hope the sidequests are not all run and gun and action-packed, cause that would get pretty boring. That would also mean that Bioware is missing a great chance to explore the mysteries of the galaxy and the things that make sci-fi so great.

I guess I'll find out on Tuesday, but if someone has already played the game and its sidequests, could you please post something to erase my doubts? =P

I've not played the game, but I read somewhere that side missions all tie into the overall story of the game, so you find out more about the collectors, the reapers, etc. It was also said that some sidequests would involve no shooting.

"Planet Eletania - Location of odd silver sphere. Knocks you out and grants you a vision of the Protheans studying ancient man. Could they have had a hand in our evolution?"

Never saw this. What system and cluster, and where on the map when you land, if I might ask?

Well we have to in account that the Protheans were hardly the first species wipe out by the reapers, they might have left even more cryptic leftover

System, cluster and map all here: http://masseffect.wi...m/wiki/Eletania

Important to note that you need to have fully completed the Citadel Consort sidequest and received her gift to see the vision.

AWESOME THREAD, OP.

I was seriously considering compiling a list just like this, since I was in a topic a while back about mysteries.

huh, was considering doing this myself...haven't stumbled on a few of these though, or I just don't remember them (which is odd, as I just completed a full ME1 playthrough with all of the systems explored like...10minutes ago.).

Nice job on the list though :)

I've always thought that the Leviathan of Dis was a collector ship. Or it could just be a really, really old ship. Keeper ship perhaps?
