Hello,

 

Here is a little ME1 video tribute, I made, using the extended version of the amazing "An End of an Era" track from the Citadel OST:

 

 

This is my first attempt at a music/montage video so feedback is appreciated.

 

I had this lying around for a while and finally got around to finishing and uploading it.

I really enjoyed listening to it but always thought some images would go well. First I wanted to make a trilogy video to the music but it turned out I had way too much material just from ME1 so I kept it to just tell the ME1 story in images.

I did want to keep the continuity of the story in the video and did compromise on the editing to maintain it. Still hope it worked out.

 

And before anyone goes nuts: I like both, Ash and Kaidan. The reason why I usually sacrifice Ash on Virmire is because I think it just fits better to her character. With all her guilt about loosing her unit on Eden Prim, this noble sacrifice for the rest of the team (and Kaidan in particular) is a very fitting end for her, I think.

As for feedback: I love End of an Era, but having it loop constantly throught the video made it a bit monotonous. If you wanted a bit more impact, you could add some dialogue in future videos. Also, if you it to be more of a ''tribute'' and less of a ''recap of ME1'', try thinking about the themes and important events/dialogue that marked the game and made us love it. The editing was pretty solid though.

Thanks chris. That's some really good feedback there and I agree with all of them.

Yep, I noticed the music can get a little bit monotonous when it's looping 7 times or so. Though it fits rather well with ME1's chaptered structure but half way through the editing job, I kinda got the feeling that it was a bit much as well.

You are also right about the tribute vs. recap thing of course. I really just wanted to tell the story of ME1 in pictures.

 

I'll definitely take your advice to heart for future projects. Much appreciated!
