Don't you think that the best way do stop Reapers is to destroy Citadel? Eventually to kill all keepers, wich could be hard to do...
The Reapers are comming by the citadel, Proteans managed to stop cycle by "closing" Citadel, keepers didn't respond and Sovereign's "folks" are trapped. 
Forgive me if I'm wrong but I think that if Citadel'd be destroyed than the Reapers would have no way into the Galaxy.

the Citadel controls the Mass Relays. destroy the Citadel and the Mass Relays are useless and everyone's stuck with slow travel across a wide, wide galaxy. this is essentially how the Reapers crippled the Prothean fleet and all the previous species who discovered the Citadel

besides, by the time it was discovered that the Citadel was the Relay connecting to Dark Space it was too late, both for the Protheans and Shepherd

Valid point, but the Citadel is first off the seat of the Council. Second, they don't know it's a giant mass relay until at Ilos, IIRC: Thridly, I think it's pretty hard to destroy.



Still, it probably could be done. Question is if the Council is willing to do it. Methinks not.

Yeah, 3 people (or 4) get to rule over billions of members of several species and nobody objects. Hmmm...

I guess destroying Citadel ain't a problem. 2nd - if security of all galaxy would depend on destroying Citadel i think the Council would do it.

The problem is control of mass relays, but maybe all spicies will make sth like Citadel but sth that would not link galaxy with space full of nasty robots...
