I think it will be Michel, since Ishmael would make a good side boss. I hope he's not dead, though.

Yeah, it's possible. I guess I'm just basing it off the fact that the others were just side bosses.

True, but who knows what he's capable of
I watched this video and when asked about Asunder it's said "at least one character from Asunder".

So, it's looking like interpretations of ONLY one character were off? It's around 13:40 if you want to skip ahead.
There was another panel, or maybe it was the same one, that they said "one" instead of "at least" so maybe that's where I got it from.
Am I the only one who liked the Fade? I have to say though, the Fade looks freakin awesome in DAI.
I loved the fade. Seven levels of stat bonuses for free? Are you kidding me? Yes. I'll take all of that, thank you.
Praise be! If they can give me some Deep Roads that had the same level of depth and wonder of DAO, I will be undeniably happy. That was honestly my favorite level of the entire game. Period. Well, that and the Urn quest. It made me feel like I really was on an epic adventure.

Why would Ishmeal hang out with the Red Templars (one of the game main antagonists as far as we know)?

... I'm sorry, I don't see how the post you quoted in any way implies Ishmeal would be aligned with the Red Templars; even if they're the main antagonists, alliance with them is hardly a necessity for being a boss.

I think it's almost certain Ishmael will be a side-boss.
Near the end of the novel, when he asked for why he shouldn't just kill Celene and Gaspard because what he wants is chaos on Thedas, Felassan claims that his people are going to do "that" and Ishmael becomes extremely excited and lets them both go because "things in Orlais were bound to become very interesting".
I am assuming Felassan was referring to the Tears in the Veil which would mean Ishmael wouldn't be behind them and thus he would just be a side-boss.
I'm thinking either Mihris or Michel probably.

That was literally the only pro to that snooze-fest
And playing with those forms
I imagine Mihris would have found a Dalish clan by now.
Idk. Those are the only ones I could think of.

It's more how Michel was linked to Imsheal being a side boss that triggered my response.
Mort de Nuit was speculating about who is the Masked Empire character in the Highlands which is a massive Red Templars war camp zone. Anyone in that zone will either be a Red Templar, aligned with them or a prisoner.
Cole is going to be beside you the entire time.
Aka one of many?

Anything is possible, I suppose. Given the concentration of Red Templars in the area, it would have to be a character who may want to deal with them, in one way or another. If your suggestions are correct, perhaps Mihris is there if the Red Templars threatened her new clan, or Michel de Chevin if the spirit Imshael was manipulating the templars through red lyrium.

I'm totally spit-balling here, so indulge me for a second. It was interesting to me how Imshael gave a red crystal to Celene to reawaken the mirrors. Connection?

Quite interesting! Perhaps there was a connection between the Arlathan elves and the dwarves of the primeval thaig. I wonder what that means for the sentient red lyrium idol that eventually possessed Meredith (since it apparently spoke to her), and how that comes into play with the splinter faction of templars who have apparently crave red lyrium (with some Red Templars becoming their own version of abominations - behemoths).

Indeed! I wonder if using this red crystal to reawaken the mirrors and to indirectly hop around Orlais facilitates the growth of red lyrium.

Perhaps Imshael is the source of the Red Lyrium. Perhaps it gave them a choice; "Continue as you are, and risk running out of lyrium and all that entails, or accept this red lyrium, that will give you all the power you need to pursue your goals, at the eventual cost of your sanity."

It could certainly explain the recent growth of red lyrium.
