He's probably the more interesting character to be introduced.
Though I wonder what role the Cole will play.

Just because nobody suggested him yet, perhaps Lambert.
Rogue companion for the 3/3/3?
I'm hoping not.

Would be an interesting twist. To kill a trope that has truly begun to irk me.

imho it's looking like quite a possibility to me.

Oi.
I'm so conflicted over Lambert.
On one hand the entire book seemed to be setting him up for a role as a major antagonist come DAI.
On the other hand, spoilers just to be safe,
But if he doesn't show up, they're gonna have to do a fair bit of work to establish the new leader of the templars as a compelling character.

See I was thinking that too...Alas, I prefer the other side to that particular coin.
I can only hope the Inquisitor can kill him in the most grotesque of blood magic rituals.
Spoiler
I wouldn't put it past him to find a way

It really is. Aside from us having no other basis for a third rogue from either the survey or concept art, Cole would make a nice trifecta; we've seen possessed mages and a possessed warrior(Justice), but we haven't seen a possessed rogue yet.
I just think that for Cole to work as a companion they'd have to change too much about his character to the point that it effectively wouldn't be him any more.

Yeah, I think it'd be quite difficult to mold him into a companion but I also think it'd be nice.
The biggest question I would have is his body.

Anything to kill the lovable, incorrigable thief schtick.

I think you're safe spoiling Asunder in a thread about a character from it being in Inquisition. ![]()
See, I would be more surprised if he failed against him than succeeded. Lambert is the Lord Seeker afterall.
And he is a great counterbalance for Fiona, whom I suspect will be in the game as the leader of the Mages so I see nobody better to be leading the Templars than him.

If Cole is a companion then his leaked survey bio suggests he's in his own form

How could Lambert have survived that, though? That's what's crushing my hope. WoT just says he "vanished"

I was being terse; allow me to elaborate.
I expect that, were Cole a companion, he would function similarly to a rogue analogue of Justice in Awakened; he'd have some sort of supernatural element to his skills that would be more than just some guy with knives.
Honestly, he kind of needs that. We've seen him fight with just the knife and he got his ass kicked.

And that is one reason why I think he isn't dead. If he is dead, they'd just say so.
A possessed Lambert for 500.

Maybe Lambert was never what he claimed to be? I find his knowledge of the Litany of Adralla a bit too convenient.
well, he did come from Tevinter, after all
Adralla moved and died in the Ferelden circle after Magisters tried to assassinate her three times for her research (and that was a long time ago).

I meant with him not being who he says he is lol
