She could be a mage and just not be a fighter. Not everyone is cut out for battle even if they have magical fireball throwing powers.

i know right. i cannot wait to see what scribbles really is MAGE or CIVILIAN
So many questions.
She could be a mage and just not be a fighter. Not everyone is cut out for battle even if they have magical fireball throwing powers.
That's true. It is said that those mages who have barely any potential tend to be left alone.

I think that is the type of character she will be. Allow you to get reports and progress on various things, give you letters, help with communications etc.

Makes sense, especially since she is the adviser on politics and economy.

Scribbles is going to have to be smart as a whip! I like the idea of her knowing the game inside and out.

Yeah, and not just Orlais' game. She'll need to know the ins and outs, as well as best others in them, of the politics of every nation.

I think that she will not be a mage.... when you think about how mages are seen in the dragon age univers and her role inside the inqusition.... wouldn´t make sense for her to be a mage.... and down below is why
mages inside the dragon age univers (short version):
- mages are feered the the society and often seen as abominations
- mages are locked up inside the circles and tightly guarded/supervised by the templars
- free mages that don´t submit to bee locked up inside the circles are called apostates and hunted down by the templars
For me, this leeds to the conclusion that there would be no worse political/trade advisor then a mage.

Is it because you associate the voice with the character betraying you?
I'll always think of Brooks with that voice now lol

I hope she doesn't squarely fit the role Traynor and Chambers had. I would dislike it if Bioware fell into a trend of giving us a female non-combatent secretary.(who also happens to be LGB?)...I'm fine with her choosing not to fight, but I would prefer she had some ability...or just...wasn't our secretary ... ![]()

Well, she is an adviser. So she'll be as important and in a similar role as Cullen and Leliana.

First time in this thread.
Am i correct in saying Scribbles is the one in the Inquisition we know the least about as of right now?
That or it's a tie between her and the grey warden.
Either way, i'm really interested to find out more about her.

Welcome to the thread. ![]()
I'd say she and Grey Warden are tied, but just barely. All we know of the Grey Warden is that he is a Grey Warden and all we know of Scribbles is she'll be our political/economic adviser.

Yeah, once we get some info to chew on then the wait will be easier.
Then again, if the info is too good it could make the waiting harder. ![]()

Those are good reasons.
Unless she's a Lucrosian, a fraternity centered around gaining wealth and political power. We haven't met one yet, so that might give us an interesting insight into the mage's education system and the methods they employ.

The Lucrosians voted along with the Loyalists and Isolationists to surrender and throw themselves upon the mercy of the Chantry; could be that Scribbles is one, like Vivienne, who decided not to abide by the rebel's decision to fight.

What fraternity is Vivienne? Could she be Lucrosian? I mean, she was involved in Orlais' court.

It's possible, though she struck me more as an Aequitarian, if only because the Lucrosian's are one of the most minor fraternities and the seem like they'd be beneath her notice, even if she agreed with them, she doesn't seem submissive enough to be a Loyalist, and she's definitely not a Libertarian or Isolationist.

That is a good point. And she was described as Pro-Circle, which Aequitarian best fits.
So if Scribbles is a mage, then Lucrosians would be a fitting fraternity for her.

I don't get why, though They look nothing alike except they are both darker-skinned females.
