Currently, my headcanon is playing the flute alone in the balcony of his chambers in the castle as he is staring at the stars, and Scribbles staring quietly as she is mesmerized by the beautiful tune, to the point where she forgot the business she had to discuss with the Inquisitor. The Inquisitor had noticed her presence but didn't stop, he felt comfortable with her behind him. Once he was done he put his flute down and spoke with a soft voice "Hey", Scribbles is startled as she replies "Inquisitor, I'm sorry the door was open and I couldn't help but see where that beautiful sound was coming from.. That was incredible, I had noticed the flute before but had no idea you played it." The Inquisitor grins as he slightly turns his head. Hesitant and nervous Scribbles spoke with a shaky voice "You are a man of many talents" and smiled.
The Inquisitor turned, picked his flute back and looked at it then said "It's been a while since I had played it, all the fighting going on, it's difficult to enjoy the little things in life but you can never forget them, they're always on your mind". He put the flute on the chair in the balcony then moved into the room and faced Scribbles, "Those little, beautiful things, they give hope, that after all that fighting you will have something to turn to, something to make you happy." His eyes met hers as he spoke and she couldn't resist and murmured "Someone.." she became somewhat of a flushed expression as the inquisitor kept smiling.
The inquisitor looked away for a moment, then walked towards his desk. "This tune, my father taught it to me, it has a story you know", Scribbles interrupted " -insert inquisitor's name- wait." The inquisitor looked to her in surprise and said " -insert scribbles's name-?" "I've been holding back from saying this for a while, and I hate holding back things so I think you should know that I.." she paused for a moment, the inquisitor looked into her eyes, he knew what she was going to say as he felt the same, midst the intensity of the emotion the inquisitor's mark on his hands started to glow, he opened his palm and looked at the scar chaos left him with, Scribbles moved towards the inquisitor, then held his hands and closed his palm, " I care about you, deeply, you're not just a leader or even just a friend to me" she resumed as the inquisitor shifted his eyes towards hers again " Usually I'm a lot better with words, but I can only be blunt now. I love you. I'm not sure if you feel the same, but you need to know it. You've survived every bad thing ever thrown at you, the way you deal with people so kindly even when you don't have to. You're out there saving the world whether it's saving a village or even a poor stranger. And you're taking me along this journey and I try." she paused again, both of them were overwhelmed with emotions, mutual emotions. "What I'm trying to say is, I've admired you from the very first moment, and you're incredible to me and I was able to open up to you and look up to you." she continued, "I love you" ,she repeated. "I know" replied the Inquisitor.
Her hands still on his, the inquisitor smiled and said "This tune.. My father taught it to me, he said the night he proposed to my mother, the sky was filled with stars and he got inspired and played the tune" he continued "Mother noticed him, they were pretty close and father had been planning for the perfect time to ask the question and that moment just appeared, and it was beyond perfect. He hoped I'd find a moment similar so I can experience the same joy."
He turned to his desk, opened the drawer and drew a small leather pouch "And now, mages and templars are fighting, and demons appear out of no where and the civil war. How can there be a perfect moment in a state like this." he paused for a moment as he pulled out a golden ring from the pouch, "then it occurred to me, that every moment is perfect." his words fluttered, "every moment I spend with you is perfect" at that moment Scribbles became completely speechless as she was overwhelmed with joy. The inquisitor turned towards her, got down on one knee and held up the ring, Scribbles eyes began to tear as she knew what was coming next. The inquisitor continued "thus, this is a perfect moment. I love you too -insert scribbles name-, I fell in love with your beauty when I first laid my eyes on you, I fell in love with intelligence as you were able to solve an enormous problem with one smart letter, I fell in love with your personality as you talked to me about your past and your hopes, and most of all I fell in love with you. So now I'm going to use three words that I could never even dream to be able to use them midst all this chaos and war. But you are a silver lining in a very dark cloud, and I would want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life, whether it was short or long, with you"
"-insert Scribbles name- will you marry me?", Scribbles broke the ice as she responded ecstatically, "Yes! I do. No matter what happens, whether it was in the past or in the future, it'll all be worth it, because you are worth it. And I love you, and will always love you". The inquisitor got off his knee as he held her hand and moved the ring gracefully into her finger, they then shared their first kiss.
